It's terrible. Everyone got robbed. Cintron the most. I think it's ridiculous people are saying he threw himself out of the ring.
He rocked Williams just 30 seconds prior to falling out of the ring.
He almost broke his neck on the way down. That would be a weird way to quit a fight. Some people are so ridiculous or are just dics. It is what it is.
It's not Williams fault his opponent took a nose dive in the stands and didn't want to continue.
Paul Williams threw a wild right hand to cintron's back that kinda pushed Cintron off balance and Cintron slightly tripped over Williams legs hurting his neck. You can see it clearly in the replay.
Paul Williams hit him with a punch which was a straight left hand to the chops. Now a fighter can throw a punch right after getting hit and still be considered to be knocked down if he goes down on a delayed reaction. Which is what Cintron did. He threw a punch after getting hit and then ran forward being hurt on a delayed reaction from a punch.
You gotta remember that Margarito lost the first two rounds to Cintron and then showed that he was a better fighter with more heart in both fights. This fight was going in the same direction.
What? Cintron slightly tripped and Margarito better fighter he's was always waiting a while until the plaster was just right.

Pacman: Ha, ha, now you look Chino to vaaato!!
From looking at that pic they both look asians, would've been harder to tell who wasn't except Margarito is too tall. Not you're typical average Asian. Pacquiao turn Margarito into a Yao Ming, check out those chinese eyes.lol
Caption: "What Quitto would have looked like if he didn't run away and quit"
What Clottey would've looked like if he actaully stop covering his face for the whole fight. Not that fight was boring for 12 rounds.
no one better ever call floyd a coward, runner or cherry picker again
you don't become a warrior just because of one fight. He's giving it his all because he got more to lose if he doesn't win. He's at the end of his career. Mosley been fighting overtime in boxing.
Lopez fighting Vasquez would be a no win situation.
If he wins, he beat a shot Vasquez who fought 3 wars with Marquez among other fights. And if he loses he was exposed by a great fighter already past prime.
I agree, even though lopez seems to have the ability to be a great fighter.
Sometimes people dont feel like themselves you can be a great performer and still on any given day not feel like your useful self. You maybe tired, your maybe sick or perhaps your just out of shape. When JMM steps in the ring with Mayweather he will not be the same fighter that fought Pacquiao, Marco Antonio barrera, or Joel Casamayor. He'll be slower, he''l get tire and his speed will be less. Age won't do him any good either. He'll be an easy prey. But thats just what Mayweather is looking for a name with no game.
So what was the validity of becoming linear champion if you go ahead and don't accept to defend your belt and retire??? We would not be wishing the WW Div to be unified and in search for the next linear champ if PBF would had not retired...
Floyd Mayweather was also the linear champion at 130 back in November 2001. At the same time there were three other champions in this weight all were ranked the top three in the Jr. lightweight division. But did Floyd stick around to beat the best? No he vacated his title moving up in weight and though he became champion in other weights he never really dominated the divisions beating the very best. Winning titles against Gatti and Baldomir aren't much of an achievement. Collecting titles is one thing beating the best is another. Yet just cause of his boxing skills and staying undefeated he was named the best P4P fighter. Consider he was being called the best P4P without still having fought a Hatton or De La Hoya.
Retire when real threats are present and everyone is questioning your greatness. Come back when those threats have died down and then face those you now you can beat.
Floyd cherrypicking his way to a legacy.
Before Floyd retired he would've had to face the real welter weights or go back to 140. There weren't any more weight classes he could jump to avoid the real compettition so he retired waiting for the less dangerous opponents.
cotto never called out floyd, he was interviewed if he wanted to fight floyd a few years back and he said no he does not, he wants to fight whoever his promoter puts (floyds leftovers) in front of him instead.
Margarito ktfo out cotto, get over it.
Floyd quit the day he retired evoiding the real competition. Margarito clearly cheated to be Cotto. Bottom line Mayweather is a lying bitch who is scared of losing. Everyone calls him Gayweather for a reason. He made that name for himself. But get over it.
All Hopkins fights are boring unless he has a unmovable opponnent. He will hug, punch hug, etc. Calzaghe did a much exciting fight vs jones because he wasn't hugging all the time.
Hopkins is just mad because he got beat by the white boy something he only saw in his nightmares. That nightmare became reality to him.
He was going to 140 to fight a 140 fighter. He was obvious in pursuit of Manny Pacquiao who has also moved up in weight. He wasn't going up to 140 to ask a 128 fighter to fight him at 140.
Bernard Hopkins made it boring with all the grapping, faking a low blow in the eleven that would have been a body punch knockout. You can see Hopkins bend over in the fight and just come foward to grap Calzaghe to avoid getting punish.
Hopkins made that fight boring unlike when Calzagher fought Roy Jones. Roy jones made it a better fight, because he wasn't grapping Calzaghe. Had Hopkins not been grapping all the time Calzaghe would've dominated Hopkins just like he did to Roy.
He's just trying to help floyd out in his negotiations with pac. but floyd will retire soon. Lebron and kobe have alot more left. Pacquiao means more to boxing. since mayweather left pacquiao had everyone in the palm of his hands.
Answer J.M.Marquez vs Pacquiao trilogy would've been huge.
Marquez was the key factor here.
Sure some wrestling fans thought Mayweather would've come out to Triple H music with Triple H right behind him. Sure many thought Marquez had a chance to beat Mayweather or atleast hoped for a miracle.
Mayweather did some Monday night Raw to hype his fight looking to add wrestling fans to his PPV, but it was more about people believing Marquez was capable of shutting his mouth, especially mexicans. If they didn't beileve he had a chance the fight would not sell, but for how long will they be able to fool the public? Perhaps long enough until Mayweather retires which might be just one more fight.
All thos e fans booing proves some what that most that paid to see the fight was just to see him lose. They made Marquez look like he had a chance, but floyd didn't want to take any chances and he camed over weight and wouldn't allow anyone to know how big he was for this fight.
I always love watching this fight. You could see that Senior may have been very good if he didnt get shot. You could also see the makings of little Floyd's D in there. People always get upset about little Floyd not respecting SRL more but I always say that little Floyd is also an ATG and SRL beat his dad. You cant look at it from a fan's view of a legend. He probably wanted to beat SRL his whole life. He's not going to look up to him like he's better then him when he's also been great and ranked P4P #1. He also comes from Michigan where Hearns is from so thats a double whammy. SRL is from my area though so I have mad love for him.
Its funny because if youre watching this fight and you said that one of these guys will have a son who is an ATG, you wouldve definatly said it would be SRL as Senior looked kinda like a crack head but no doubt he had skills. Those guys looked tall & big for WW's back then. Thats why I always say its unfair to compare a WW Floyd Jr to SRL. If you want to compare them then do it P4P like a WW SRL vs a SFW Floyd Jr. Thats more realistic. Anyways, this was a good scrap
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7P3xZGB350
perhaps Floyd Mayweather Sr. advice to his son was: If you want to reach the top don't fight anyone your own size.
Yeah Floyd buckled Oscar, but he seemed more surprised than hurt, otherwise Oscar wouldn't have continued to move forward. I think De la Hoya had the right game plan and probably would have beat Floyd in his prime. He made the first 5 rounds look easy with his jab.
Pacquiao had Oscar backing up, hiding, and laying on the ropes, which is something Floyd never did. Look at Oscar's face after both fights and tell me who landed the better/harder punches. Manny only 8 rounds while Floyd had the full 12 to do damage. Floyd did fight the bigger, better version of Oscar, but everyone seems to forget that the Mayweather- De la Hoya rematch was scheduled to take place at 147-150, which is why Oscar fought Forbes at 150. But Floyd retired, canceling the rematch, so he challenged Pac instead.
Floyd fought a much smaller Marquez who was worn from coming off 3 wars against bigger guys. Floyd didn't even try to make weight and had at least a 10-15 lb advantage, landed a lot of flush shots and still couldn't finish him. Pac is no god and has flaws, but he isn't overrated like Floyd.
Although when Manny fought Oscar he wan't the same fighter that when against Mayweather. But I still believed Manny would be too fast for him and that's what gave him trouble, but de La Hoya needed the extra strength to hurt Pacquiao and slow him down. But I do believe a younger Oscar De La Hoya would've had a much easier time with Mayweather Jr. and would've beaten him.
yeah Mayweather weighing in 2 lbs over the limit allowed his defense and boxing IQ to dramatically enhance like never b4......
Two pounds? bullS he cam in much bigger. Cotto did made the weight and you can see the difference from his past weigh-ins. Mayweather was over ten pounds bigger than he.
Mayweather looks better than he should because he fights older slower or smaller fighters. so he's going to look like he has much better defense when a guy throws slow motion punch or he moves slow or he is too small where Mayweather will use his height for defense.
If it doesn't matter to him than he should fight someone good. Mosley doesn't need the money. If Mayweather had any confidence that he could beat Mosley he would and he would shove it to everyone faces. But he's willing to play basketball with him, but not get in the ring. B.S. if you ask anyone.
To his(T.S.) favor Marquez wasn't the same fighter and Mayweather surprised everyone by not coming in at weight. you never know if that played a factor. You never know what may happen in the day of the fight. How many bets were lost here because Margarito cheated? You expect a clean fight when you make predictions, but Mayweather didn't play fair so the thread starter gets the benefit of the doubt.
I cant think of anyone @ 140
Its very impressive if you think about it. Its like if some welter weight cleaned house by beating some of the top WW then moving up to face Paul William. Manny win or lose is something special.
Shot or drained it doesn't matter he's still looked like a monster against them and he still beat them. Hatton wasn't shot, but after Pacquiao now he is.
