in the gym he is still sharp although the day to day operations of WC have to be taking it's toll on him
in the corner his advice has indeed become very questionable
But if he is still sharp in the gym, are we seeing development/improvement in his top two guys?
I thought that his advice to "shoot something up the middle" was good. Khan came out in the next round and landed two hard uppercuts up the middle.
But overall, Khan and Pac seem unimproved to me.
You win some you lose some.
with that said he probably should take on a smaller work load and not spread himself thin. His health is going to get worse and I know he lives and breathes boxing but maybe slowing it down a bit could be a good thing. He could hire more guys to handle the bulk of his workload at his gym.
I know there are a lot of people who really dislike roach for whatever reasons but at the end of the day he's a boxing guy, has been great for the sport and it's going to be sad to see him deteriorate until eventually he just wont be able to train anymore.
That is why he had brought on Michael Moorer. But Moorer's people skills were so bad, that he was alienating people in the gym.
I know that he lets Ariza take on more and more. I now see Ariza almost as the asst trainer in the corner. But Alex is not a boxing guy.
Oh yea...I saw their tweet... lol, they said 46 time or some ish like that. They should make a video of all the warnings.
@0:42 stopped it to tell him to stop pushing even after yelling at him to stop.
@0:47 "Last one, stop pushing".... huh?!
This is on Sky, these guys are less biased than HBO and they're breaking British (pointing out that their fellow countryman is in the ring).
@1:58, they point out that he should be losing or could be losing points for pushing the head down!
I need to look for Sky streams
Shout at me... I'll hook you up.

Also, Per Kevin Iole:
All indications are that the Pacquiao-Marquez pay-per-view results are going to be very high. Don’t be shocked if the final number soars past 1.5 million. If it does, it would be the largest Pacquiao fight ever and the second-largest non-heavyweight pay-per-view of all-time, trailing only the 2007 De La Hoya-Mayweather bout. That match did 2.45 million.

The Cold War continues. 'Money' Pacquiao just might have the most buys all time when he retires. Crazy that a foreigner who speak sparse English could accomplish that.
Just like Pacquiao-Hatton and Pacquiao-Mosley were "on track" for 1.8 million.
Right?
BTW, how are those Pac-Mosley numbers coming along?
Everything in terms of the public perception has done a complete 180 in two years, it's crazy.
Well, Arum overplayed his hand. And Manny/Roach never called Arum on his nonsense.
For example:
Arum books the MGM for a November date and puts a countdown clock (July) on his website for Floyd to agree.
Now, Floyd books the MGM for May 5th (TRADITIONAL FIGHT WEEKEND!) and invites (not demands) Manny to join him.
But Arum says that Floyd is negotiating in bad faith. Ha! Everyone but the blindest Pac fans sees this is hypocrisy.
Manny gave Floyd 4 months. Floyd is giving Manny 7 months.
He doesnt really have 1 punch KO power in the lower weight either so ur point is? All pac's KO comes from continuous punches.
Well, clearly, if MP fights someone who can box, and MP can't land the "continuous punches", he is much less effective as a fighter.
Nothing more dangerous than fighting a man that has nothing to lose...
Cotto is without a doubt the better boxer but I still don't think he can adapt to the pressure that Marg will bring. Pressure nullifies boxing.
Cotto pisses me off because he doesn't know how to clinch.
I erffing hate that.
Cotto could shorten the fight, prevent himself from getting tired, and take the steam off Margarito. Clinch, dude. Clinch.
Floyd made a BRILLIANT move in calling out Pacquiao BEFORE the Marquez fight.
If Floyd had challenged Pac on Sun/Mon, he would have lost credibility as people would have said that FMJ is merely exploiting a slipping Manny.
Timing is everything.
***BREAKING NEWS*** Chris Mannix of SI.com is reporting that the NYSAC has REJECTED Anotonio Margarito a license to fight in NY due to medical reasons. According to Bob Arum, COTTO-MARGARITO will be moved to a venue in either Texas, Denver or Mississippi.
A few minutes ago, BORICUABOXING.com spoke with the NYSAC and they confirm that NO DECISION has been made YET. An official announcement will be made tomorrow.... More to come on this developing story!
I'm not sure what SI.com is, but I certainly hope its not a reliable source.
Great going Arum.
chris mannix of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED is one of the most reliable sources
Do you really think Arum is affected by this. Arum will fight back of course. Arum got what he wants on the fight, its $$$$$$$$$.
Arum is fine with his money. He always will be.
The question is Pac's legacy.
...do you hear ANYBODY* talking about Manny in the GOAT discussion anymore?
*exclude unreasonable "PacTards"
The funniest part was when Ariza threw that veiled threat about Arum being lucky they aren't in Colombia.

lol teampac is so disfunctional..i doubt pac was even paid for the marquez fight, he prolly just got that ferrari that konz bought him

Why are you guys beating off to some fictitious article from fighthype?
.
If FightHype articles are so full of misquotes, and if they are such liars, then why does Ariza keep giving them interviews?
Thi is Ariza's fourth interview with them.
Why has nobody come forward to say they were misquoted? Where are the defamation lawsuits that Team Pac is so fond of?
manny hires people to investigate arum
ariza says arum is full of sh1ti
and ya'll take up for arum?
That's what I don't understand.
OK, I can (on some deep, irrational level) understand PacTardism. He is the face and most recognizable figure from your country. By most accounts, he represents your ethnicity well. Cool, I get that.
But WTF is up with the ArumTards? How in the hell - WHY in the hell - would somebody start blindly defending Arum?
Especially when Arum has been cheating and exploiting your guy.
At last, Ariza says some good things with that big mouth of his.
http://www.fighthype.com/pages/content11249.html
WOW...
Ariza just debunked every "PacTard" argument over the past three years.
I guess Ariza is a Flomo now.
sounds like arum realizes the hype has derailed some. that sounds like defeat to me.
Yes, and when you combine that with Ariza's statements about Manny going "backwards" in the Margarito, Mosley and Marquez fights, I think there is (legitimate) concern within Team Pacquiao.
If the Manny that fought Mosley and Marquez is the one that shows up for a Mayweather fight...
man manny's stock has dropped crazy overnight. lol, so ironic. arum says manny makes the decisions on who to fight manny says arum makes the decisions, wtf is up?
Team Pac is a bit on their heels right now, and they need to just regroup.
Manny should simply say that he just came out of camp, allow the dust to settle, go enjoy his birthday in the Philippines, and make a fight announcement after the new year.
Arum made a big mistake by talking about how a fourth fight would make so much money. He did this IN THE RING on Saturday night, while all the fans were still booing.
That was bad timing. At that moment, nobody cared about money or the economics of a greedy promoter. Then Manny says "whoever my promoter wants".
But they'll be fine. Manny has an extremely dedicated fanbase.
OK... why can't Pac fight Berto next?
If Pacquiao is reluctant to fight Mayweather because he is coming off an iffy performance and his/his team's morale and confidence may be low, then fight Berto.
None of those PPVs have featured 2 elites facing off. Mosley hasnt been elite for 5 years, Ortiz is a contender with a belt, Dawson is a top contender, JMM is elite 2 weight divisions below where the fight took place. Agbeko-Mares and Ward-Froch are free and they're much better fights as far as the best fighters in a division facing each other.
But even when it is just ONE elite, you often have to buy the PPV.
What you said is completely accurate.
;11419866']I love boxing, obviously, but I have to say I think it was much better in the days before PPV. Sure, you didn't have all the glitz, razmattaz, 24/7 and 4 week build-up (at least) but I think the fights were better.
In this climate £15 is much better spent in my petrol tank or shopping trolley. I just find nowadays that the fights almost never live up to the hype but this is because the fights are hyped waaaayyy too much bevause of the glitz, razmattaz etc, etc etc.
Just my two bob's worth.
Here in the US, you have to pay for HBO to watch the 24/7's, then you have to pay $60 to watch a crap or dishonest fight.
Tough to justify to non-fans.
See? This shows he just is there to stay, unless he gets totally destroyed and knocked out. There is no way in hell ANY fighter gets a decision against him, even if he totally disfigured his face and bashed him for 12 rounds. And JMM is not just any fighter, mind you, his reputation and popularity and overall aclaim is second to only those two clowns who are considered p4p no.1 and 2. Actually, JMM was nr.2 in popularity before this fight since Lil Boy Floyd was dealt a crushing blow after that Ortiz fight and that disgraceful interview with Merchant.
So, what did we find out? A: we found out Marquez is Pacman's kryptonite and B: we found out Marquez is not favored by the judges in these superfights.
Marquez gets favorable judging. One of the judges actually gave him TWO rounds in the Mayweather fight
:D
Nope, not my money, that's why I'm a proud bonifide streamer!! But honestly I like forward to showbox on friday nights more than anything else. The young guns before they become superstars in tough, best moments in boxing baby!!
If I had to pay for Ward-Froch, I would not mind. I can pony up $24.95 or $29.95 for that fight.
Top guys at the top of their game who always bring it in an important fight for the championship of a big tourney.
