It would depend on whether or not Maidana continued to fight for 12 rounds. If he backs down then no, I don't think Mayweather would stop him. However if Maidana continued charging at Floyd he would tire which would more than likely end in him getting TKOed.
I wonder if Floyd is messing him around because his father; If I remember things correctly ( I do) Mayweather Sr. is still salty about Khan wasting his time and picking Roach over him. The irony is certainly present.
If he resigned with Top Rank then the man is a fool. Putting a Mayweather fight to the side, you would expect him to wait until his tax issues are resolved.
You'd determine whose best with your eyes and knowledge. Your eyes should let you assess a fighter's ability, and knowledge of who they have fought will clarify that.
That being said, I don't think belts are worthless. They serve as a way of drawing a certain calibre of opponents together. However it is important to note that its worth is still dependant on the owner. Taking the belt from a D level opponent will always mean less than a victory over someone like a prime Duran with no belt on the line.
In 339 rounds Mayweather has been caught flush and rocked 3 times. However that happened in different rounds, and they failed to knock him out.
So I'd 1 in 6780. (339/3. 113*12. 1356*5).
Some guys have it. Some guys don't. Pac definitely has it (power). A motivated Pacqiuao spells trouble for anyone.
He was motivated to KO Marquez; where did that get him?
Hey, I agreed with your theory all the way.
Obviously, we forgot its Victor Ortiz, a fighter who specializes in blowing his opportunities. lol!!
He out Judahs Judah.
Link?
I agree btw, it was Stevenson's year. He was my pick.
Avenged a KO defeat, became lineal champ, beat a top 5 guy and KO'd his mandatory (also top 10) all inside 9 months.
We are giving people credit for avenging a defeat against a can these days? He beat a crap fighter, Dawson coming off of a beating, Cloud who hadn't won in just over a year, and a contender. It is hardly the stuff of legends.
Rigondeaux, Bradley, Mayweather, Lara and Garcia are more worthy options.
You get credit for beating anyone that knocks you out. Prescott is a "can", but if Khan got back in the ring and beat him he'd get a lot of respect. Regardless, that was just one of his wins.
You get discredited when some low tier fighter beats you, all you get when you set the record straight is redemption. It is not a win deserving of praise, that mindset effectively awards poor performances. Also Prescott is a contender/journey man, the guy who sparked Adonis is a can.
Cloud was top 5 in the division, former champ who had never been stopped. Moreover, again it was just one of his wins. It's the total package for the year that was impressive.
But the total package isn't impressive; it is akin to me giving someone a bag of pennies, sure there'd be a lot in the bag but collectively what's there is worthless. I don't care where Cloud was ranked in the division because any division with talent wouldn't have a guy who was completely schooled in their last fight, and without a win in over a year, in their top 5.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, from that list I liked Rigo and Bradley but it's not our opinion that counts for this one. The one where our opinion counts, Golovkin was chosen
What are you referring to? If it is the boxingscene poll, I thought Rigondeaux collected the most votes.
Am I the only person who thinks it if funny that fighters like Ortiz started of as a prospect whilst BHop was on decline, yet Ortiz is finished and BHop is still going strong.
It has become crystal clear to me, that ya'll would not know greatness if it took a sh1t on your forehead...ya'll dismiss every damn great fighter you have been blessed to witness and if you were alive 50-100 years ago you would do the exact same damn thing...we are witnessing greatness in this era and it is never enough for ya'll..it is sickening that ya'll even call yourselves boxing fans
So if someone great took a **** on your head, you'd focus on their greatness? The opponents Bernard Hopkins has beaten in recent years are impressive in relation to his age, not to an objective standard. That's not to say he isn't a good fighter, and that people cannot marvel over what he is doing at age 48, but it does make it easy to understand why people won't put him in the top 10 based on beating people like Pascal and Pavlik.
adrien broner - rolls royce phantom coupe
very stylish, very loud, and very attention grabbing. but in terms of sheer performance, it leaves a lot to be desired. not as much substance in that department as you may think, although there is definitely some. if it wasnt so heavy/firmly planted, it would have more mobility. its mostly more about the "look at me" factor than the actual road going experience.
Lol no. Broner is the equivalent of a souped up Vauxhall Corsa.
Sadly the winner is Victor ortiz.
He's the only one I know who has trained with an mma fighter in Ronda Rousey. That's exactly what serves you best in a bar fight, not boxing.
Actully no. In a brawl it is imperative that you stay on your feet and well balanced. To that end I think it is more useful to be able to throw quick and hard punches, unless you're against one opponent.
Who would win depends on who is smart enough to pick up a weapon and wait on the sidelines.
You neglect to include detail in your opinion.
Specifically, what is Mayweather going to do to stop Maidana's violent assault? I'm not sure that pot shotting would be enough to stop Maidana.
Would you expect me to give a detailed opinion on how a Prime Mike Tyson would beat David Price?
Yes. If people are honest with themselves they would admit that no man would do business with someone who has robbed them in the past and still owes them money.
GGG resume is better. When you apply for a job, your potential employer will not just say ''Oh you worked for so and so, you are hired'', they will contact your previous employers to see how well you performed. Even though their opponents are similar in class, GGG has been outright brutal in the way that he dispatched his foes; for that reason I cannot say that Canelo's resume is equal to GGG.
