Maidana Floyd is a mismatch. Lara, pacquaio , Bradley, Thurman are tougher fights for Floyd.
the theater of the UNEXPECTED!!!...on paper this is the common opinion!!...but this is what I love so much about this sport, the UNEXPECTED!!...the COMMON opinion beforehand was Pac gives Floyd a tougher fight than Chino...sh*t, many even had Pac winning.....not many saw Chino beating or even coming close to beating Floyd....but hey, as we found out, Chino gave Floyd more hell than arguably anybody in his career
Or, just maybe it was because Broner's footwork wasn't good enough.
Mayweather is no Broner. He was able to keep Hatton away, he'll make Maidana look like he's stuck in the mud.
I have no idea how in the world we're questioning whether or not Mayweather's footwork is good enough to contend with Marcos freaking Maidana.
Now you look like a clown :lol1:
Im not unfairly downplaying Maidana. Im a big fan of his but you act like Floyd isnt an ATG. One guy is and one guy isnt. You keep bringing up Khan & Broner but they arent half as good as Floyd. Floyd is the worst possible matchup in boxing for Maidana. Its a horrible style mismatch. He would look silly. He's probably the easiest fight for Floyd around the weight class
You thought it would be Mayweather's easiest fight? LMAO. It was Mayweather's top 3 toughest most punishing fights.
Devon NEEDS to clinch. He NEEDS to fight from the outside. Floyd will not be clinching or boxing from the outside at all.
Marcos is offensive minded and he cant fight going backwards. Floyd is going to stand in the pocket and overpower Marcos like he did Canelo. Canelo is twice as big and strong as Marcos and Floyd manhandled him and was the aggressor. Floyd has gotten bigger and stronger since leaving jail so I expect it to be like the Canelo fight but way worse. Marcos is a small little dude who is too weak for Floyd.
As far as Marcos' angles, Floyd makes adjustments. He is able to bodyscan an opponent after a few rounds, then he knows what angles their punches will come from. The fact that Marcos throws those wild shots will not matter. Notice how Broner was walking Marcos down and pushing him back. It will be identical to that but way worse.
One thing I want to point out is that against Canelo, anytime Canelo got frustrated Floyd started retreating to let the big boy blow off some steam. But against Marcos, since he's so much weaker than Floyd, Floyd is not going to care about any of that. Floyd is going to wrestle with Marcos and use his 'Grown-Man-Strength' to force him around. Floyd also walked Ortiz down. Floyd wrestled with Ortiz more so than he did with Canelo. The Floyd who fought Ortiz is allot weaker than the buffed up Floyd who fought Canelo. And Marcos, at ww, is allot smaller and weaker than Ortiz at the time he fought Floyd.
Some wont agree with this but I expect Floyd to stop Marcos. Yea Marcos has a chin but allot are not really taking heed to Floyd's newfound power and force. The Floyd who slapped up JMM would not have the power to buckle Ghost and cut his eye. That Floyd would be WAAAY too weak to walk down Canelo. But ask yourself this; Can Marcos walk down Canelo?
No way.
Marcos is too small, slow, wild, weak, and defenseless for Floyd. Expect him to go backwards all night. Expect Floyd to put on a show.
:lol1: Moron.
He'd make Maidana look like Baldomir
Dumbass :lol1:
He will punch maidana . Short right hand in the middle of all that wild sh1t maidana throws .
Like this? LMAO

It goes both ways. Anyone who has studied both should realize Maidana poses a threat. Sure, on paper Floyd walks circles around him, but to presume Maidana doesn't possess the tools to hurt Floyd is asinine. Maidana is faster and more technically sound than ever before, and would not just be showing up for a paycheck.
Floyd is never unprepared, so he will never underestimate an opponent, and his drive and dedication is second to none, but Floyd is still a human being, just like Maidana, let's not get carried away and act like Maidana has no chance, because he has a better chance than anynone else has had since DLH.
It's an exciting fight because Chino will make it so, sure you can say "floyd is too fast, won't be touched, yadayada" I know, I say it all the time too, but Maidana presents problems that you can't easily replicate in sparring, Floyd should be the heavy favorite here no matter what, but I am behind Maidana, and I am not ignorant to the sport, so while I have been wrong before, I am right more often than not, but I say Maidana brings the fight out of Floyd and it becomes a war.
Excellent post. I am not alone! Some fans see the same things I am seeing. This is great.
I doubt it.
That's honestly why I actually like this fight.
Maidana isn't going to have any respect for Maidana and even if he's getting tagged he'll just keep coming. First time probably since Hatton.
Plus, Floyd's getting on isn't he. He's slowly but surely approaching 40 now.
Good point about Floyd and age... I think he is still leagues above everyone else but if his legs don't show up or legs fade after 6, Floyd will have a very tough time if he is stationary with Maidana
I like the part where someone suggests that people are underrating Maidana, while ignoring that not only are they overrating Maidana, but also severely underrated the best boxer in the world.
"You haven't studied Maidana's fights"
STFU. Apparently you haven't "studied" Mayweather.

Yeah Maidana is going to try and rough up Floyd, but it will be curious to see if Maidana shells up after a few rounds like a lot of other Floyd opponents..
I doubt it.

Floyd will be either doing a lot of movement in the ring or holding or more than likely a bit of both. This will frustrate Maidana .... and then it's a wrap!
If Devon Alexander can do it, so can Floyd ..... unless we get a good ref that doesn't go for all the holding/elbowing like in the Devon fight.
One thing Maidana will do or try and do is rough him up, dirty tactics, elbows, rabbit punches, punches on the break etc. Try and make Mayweather uncomfortable and obviously can crack in both hands.
Mayweather would just give it right back though.

I think I'll be critical if Mayweather plays it safe, Maidana is not only easy to hit but he has stamina issues and he's weak to the body as well. I see Mayweather slicing through him but at the very least, get him out of there if the opportunity presents itself.
Floyd isn't stopping him.
Even if he has him hurt he's still not stopping him.
He doesn't look for stoppages at all at this point. Only way a stoppage will come is if he wants a huge shot like he did Hatton and that's not happening with Maidana.
He's willing to coast especially if he's miles ahead going into the last few rounds.
Floyd gonna work vs Maidana but I doubt Maidana can catch Floyd,,
Floyd is just that good.. Maidana is going to have a few moments and Floyd has to be careful not to get tagged like he did vs Shane.. Maidana tags him, it could be the difference maker with marcos

What is that supposed to mean? Are you implying that Maidana is a bad fighter or something? Are you saying he's not world class? Maidana holds his own and is very good. His power and natural fighting ability are a gift, just like Mayweather's boxing skills and discipline are a gift. I don't think it's crazy to say that Maidana -- a strong, intelligent, in-his-prime brawler -- beats a 37-year-old pure boxer. Or at the very least gives him a good fight.
Sorry that I'm just now getting back to you, and thanks for ignoring both of my posts, and focusing in on the fact that I threw "freaking" in there.
That's a hell of a conclusion you chose to draw. Mayweather isn't just any old "37 year old pure boxer". He's the goddamn best in the sport, my friend. And Marcos "freaking" Maidana, doesn't have a prayer against him.
Mayweather's movement is too good. He can pressure and deflect at the same time, while managing to still throw and hit you with punches fairly easily. As it's been stated Maidana can't fight off the back foot, and isn't good to the body...which is where Floyd likes to throw his jab. Comparing him to Khan and Broner is absurd...neither are half and in Broners case a quarter as good as Floyd at what he does. He's a lot stronger than Marcos....that's the one thing people don't give him enough credit for. Strength I mean his ability to move you and impose on you....not punching power which is also underrated.
Floyd would beat Marcos and look clean doing it imo. He won't need to fight like Alexander because he's far better and his arsenal is extremely deep. He'll find the easiest way to win....and do it, especially with someone who's tailor made for him more than others.
Maidana (somehow) earned it with his win over Broner, who everyone said is a C class bum though. So let him get paid and soundly beaten I guess.
Please provide technical answers.
Also, can Mayweather do what Devon Alexander did against Maidana? Does Mayweather clinch excessively?
Does a seagull and a crow eat lunch together?
Just say it -- you don't like Maidana. Well, that's you.
Dont like Madaina? Negroid GTFO with that shiet. Im one of the few on this site that talk about skills, and is not biased. Your disrespectful. I typed allot and broke things down.
