So you included Peter (who he just beat), Valuev, Rahman, Ruiz, Byrd (who he annihalated).
That makes absolutely zero sense. The only explaination is...you don't like him as a fighter.
I don't think Klitschko can handle pressure.
Click Other, if you feel he is the best these days. Don't make a big deal out of it.
Don't ignorantly leave him out of the poll...and expect people not to let you know about it.
That's like someone making a poll consisting of the best 147 lbers...and including Floyd, Gatti, Baldomir and Judah...yet leaving Margarito out as an option.
It's fucking retarded.
It's okay to let me know about it, absolutely. But don't say you know about my personal feelings.
To be honest with you, I just forgot about him. Recognized that immediately after the poll was finished but was thinking the Other option would be enough.
I created this poll and only got 10 possible options. If you feel I am an alias just because I did not add Wladimir Klitschko, so be it. There is the Other option, hope that fits your needs. Personally, I don't see him as being the best, he lost to Brewster fair and square, chose Byrd instead of a rematch with Lamon. But everybody is entitled to her and his opinion, and I respect yours.
I don't see anybody beating Lamon Brewster right now, he is the best by far in my view, and he is still improving - hope Buddy McGirt gets the best out of him.
Maskaev is good with a powerful right hand. But he is too one-dimensional, and I see him losing the rematch against Rahman, if it happens.
I like Oleg, though, seems to be a nice guy.
Briggs cant either. Briggs might put on a good show at first but then Rahman will slow the fight down and KO him in 9
But some of the shots Briggs took from Lewis were truly tremendous, and he kept fighting back.
Thanks for your replies, guys, interesting to read.
I haven't heard anything about him for a long time. Does he still have money from the Holyfield fight? Where is he living?
He almost died some time ago, weighed about 400 lbs. Then he continued boxing but was not very successful in terms of winning the matches.
Byrd
Valuev
Toney
Ruiz
Brock
Rahman
Klitschko
Brewster
Peter
Maskaev
This is the boxrec hw top10. Valuev at 2? Klitschko ahead of Brewster? Brock ahead of Rahman? What the hell?
Haven't seen Shannon's last fight. But against Mercer he looked quite solid. And he keeps knocking people out. Guess his recent opposition just is no motivation for him to train as hard as he could.
Yes, and rape your 16 yr old daughter. Tyson claimed he knew how to punch a woman and not leave a bruise. What a warrior he is!
That's what Robin said, not Tyson. I am convinced he never beat her, he wouldn't do that.
Brewster KO by 2nd round. Maskaev cannot handle Brewster's shots. Very weak chin on the big O.
I agree with your post.
Would expect an early win for Brewster.
Yeah he was a former Thunderbox attraction....that's when I saw him get his ass reamed by Clifford "The Black Rhino" Etienne.
That happened due to a knee injury. ;)
I'd give it to Tua. First time i sawe Tua's left hook it actually scared me. Oh man, i think he could've knocked out almost any HW ever with his left hook.
Ruddock had a shitload of power too. I've seen some of his KO's and they were great, but i feel like Tua puts way more force in his punches.
Good post. The Ruddock - Michael Dokes knockout was scary I think.
Tua seems to put everything into his left hook, while Ruddock does not appear that reckless all the time. :) I still think Ruddock hits harder, though. :p
thats a pretty bad idea. hearns shouldnt get paid for hagler hearns? ward shouldnt get paid for the second and third gatti fights?
zoo shouldnt get paid for the hatton fight?
doesnt make sense, man
Don't know what I was thinking. :(
Sorry.
But I hate it when boxers come to lose, you know.
It actually would be part IV : Ross Puritty, Chris Byrd, Corrie Sanders, ...
I was thinking about writing a fake newspaper article about something but thought it just wouldn't bring it.
....That's a little heavy for Lemon.
He was 228 in his last fight, but he was heavier before in one of his earlier fights. Shouldn't be that big a problem.
Yo, by the way, pbds, are we cool with each other now?
I would have nothing against this because he is a very likeable guy and a very good fighter.........but I doubt he will be remembered as an all-time great given the state of the HW division and the lack of actual big name rivals at this point. :boxing:
I know what you mean, the qality of possible opposition is not overhelming really. Many boxing fans judge a boxer's spot on all-time-great lists based on who they have beat. That is unfair. It shouldn't be about who beat who, it is about who could/would beat who. What if Muhammad Ali was around? Couldn't he be considered great due to this era's opposition? ;)
If Wlad and Brewster rematch......
That's exactly it. Wlad got the chance to rematch Brewster already, but he chose the easier path instead. After all the vaseline, sugar and blood talk ... shouldn't he try to prove the accusations are sort of legit?
someone who as chin and decent skill should take a comfortable ud ova brewsta
I don't think it's that easy because Lamon Brewster is no head hunter at all. Actually he is a great body puncher. If he manages to improve his defense, he will be sort of unstoppable these days, in my view.
Yeah, neither Golota or Krasniqui were beating Brewster like a drum untill they ran out of gas. Nor were they taken to the hospital and given a rigorous medical examination that lead to the conclusion THEY WERE DRUGGED.
Tell me something, quite honestly - whose chin is better: Wlads' or Golotas'??
Well I see where you are going with this but I think better systems would probably be:
70% to winnner, 30% to loser
Or maybe KO bonuses.
But not paying a boxer completely will eliminate journey man and probably more than 70% of boxers out there would find other jobs.
Very good post, thanks for the input. :)
holyfield didnt bet rahman..it was stopped on a headbutt..tua hit rahman after the bell every round and drooped him 1 time
Rahman often was very unlucky. Damn, I hate Holyfield's headbuts.
You're actually comparing Wlad to Golota?
That's like comparing a Ferrari to a fucking Pinto.
I am comparing their abilities to take a punch. Both are about equal in this department. So Andrew was beaten fair and square, but Wladimir had to be drugged?
