I'm not too sure. Haven't see him recently. But the guy that got sent through the ropes by Johnson has no chance in hell of making a name, even in a sorry division.
I'd give him a chance against Rahman, and thats about it. He already made good money in real estate investing in Staten Island so this is just some extra money and legacy for his name. Good luck to him.
sure maskaev can beat rahman, the way rahman has been fighting as of a late, rahman prolly deserves to be called the worst champ right now, even worse then byrd, his last 2 fights were horrible...
I've not seen much in Maskaev that convinces me he can hang with the top 4 or 5 heavies, weak as they are. I don't much like his style either, didn't find him impressive against Sinal Sam even though the judges scored it a lopsided decision.
Still he deserves his shot, but I hope he loses. Is it 100% that he'll get his shot at Rahman now?
Maskaev is good with a powerful right hand. But he is too one-dimensional, and I see him losing the rematch against Rahman, if it happens.
I like Oleg, though, seems to be a nice guy.
Rahman will win this time
Maskaev isn't that bad, sort of a heavyweight Glen Johnson, winning some and losing some against other high ranked guys. I have trouble seeing him beating Rahman for a 2nd time though, as lousy as Rahman is when you compare him to the great heavyweights of the past. :(
Don't forget that Maskaev hasn't lost a decision once in his career. All 5 of his losses have come by knockout. A betting man would go with Maskaev if he somehow went the distance.
He's going to hold the WBC belt. Then he probably will retire.
