Well when you have trolls coming in saying "Boxing is dying, UFC is taking over" It gets the natives riled up. And if you think MMA fans respect Boxing so much you should go visit Shitdog once in a while and see what they think of Boxing.
Well, people at Sherdog are praising Mercer for the KO and Boxing bashing over there isn't as bad as it used to be.
And I find more hate on MMA from Boxing fans other sites than I hear from Boxing fans.
Also many MMA fighters have shown tons of respect to Boxing and vice versa, former MMA fighter Jens Pulver was just saying of how powerful boxers like Mercer are and predicted that Sylvia would face trouble if he tried to stand with Mercer.
Emm..................... No.
Ali in his prime would beat Tyson either by desicion or in the same way he beat George Foreman, the good old "rope the dope".
Check out UWC 5. By far the best card of last month.
The UFC PPVs are a bit hum drum till May. Best to watch WEC and UFN till then.
If you got HDNet, you can check out Sengoku and DREAM as well.
*Sigh*, I wish UFC's events were as exciting as UWC 5, that had some entertaining fights.
How can you compare shitty UFC to the greatest boxer in the world
Your 3 attempts at anti MMA spamming are what's shitty.
I don't care who wins as long as they both do good numbers and we get good fights.
I think Mayweather will win, yes he's a pathetic ranting prick but he draws a huge crowd.
Tyson is a hardcore MMA fan. He's at all the UFC events.

Here he is getting pics with the Cyborgs.
George Foreman likes/respects MMA too, so do De La Hoya, Ray Jones Jr, Manny Pacquiao and Sugar Ray Leonard http://www.tvweek.com/blogs/pressbox/2007/09/sugar_ray_leonard_breaks_down.php.
Japan is motherland of MMA.
true story.
Shooto, the oldest MMA promotion since 1985 and yet all the attention goes to DREAM and Victory Road who both put on inferior bouts compared to what Shooto puts on (yep still in business).
Can't say I have.
Not surprised, people who bring up UFC as a example of how MMA audiences are loud obnoxious types, this proves they only a small aspect of the MMA fanbase. Japanese audiences are the most classy always clapping and how their promotions give it more of a sport feel, which is why many miss having PRIDE around. Because anytime someone said MMA was just for classless brawlers with beer drinking fans, i'll take a PRIDE video and shove it up their faces and not hear any response from them except for a few of them admitting their mistake, others who would just say weak insults to me and others would say they're Japanese, that's where I find a video from MMA bouts from across the globe like China, Brazil, Russia and Canada.
The internet has its really good side :D
Boxing is for people that drink fine, pricey liquors. I think Floyd was talking about MMA fans being trashy, young punks, that don't have any morals which a good portion that does fit. Boxing is an intelligent sport, that is still for gentlemen, something you can still take a classy girl to go see. If you have been to or seen the crowds for MMA/UFC compared to big time boxing you can tell the difference between the kind of people it attracts.
You've obviously never seen an MMA bout outside the US, have you?
Just typical Mayweather, he talks shit and people respond. That's what Ali used to do, only Ali had charisma while Mayweather just looks like a jackass prick when he talks shit.
Beer drinkers in MMA, I would say it's about the same number boxing has, not so many. Most of the MMA fighters I've watched hardly appear to be beer drinkers, then again I do watch outside of the UFC. Japan have fighters who are experienced in wrestling and kickboxing and some of their fighters with Judo backgrounds are Olympic medalists(You don't win medals by being a beer drinker).
Anyone arguing that either is better than the other is a dip shit...and even more of an idiot for thinking that you have to choose a side.
I love both sports. Train in both. Most people who I train with love both too. Its just you internet geeks who get all bent outta shape about the shit.
Both sports can and will coexist, and the competition between the two as far as putting on great cards is only benefitting the fans.
Agreed, this whole joke was around before MMA, except it was on amateur wrestling:D, what's funny they allow punches in MMA and not in amateur wrestling so..... Just saying :D
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE. These muthafuckin comments are funny as fuck. Old Chevy truck drivers? LMFAO!!!
Dana White vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. on an ESPN debate. Make it happen! It would be the funniest interview/debate in history.
Floyd: "Who.. who Who in mma generates 1.5 million in a night?"
Dana: "Who pays money to watch you ****in run for 36 minutes!?"
Floyd: "Answer the question answer the question!"
Dana: "UFC 100 generated 1.5 million Floyd. Now who pays money to watch you run?"
Floyd: "Thank you. I am the cash cow."
Brian Kenny: *laughs silently*
And both De La Hoya and Randy Couture wil go up to them and say "you're both idiots" at the same time and then slowly walk away.
More Proof That religion is the bane of all Mankind.. and that it is a extremely OUTDATED concept... and has NO PLACE in modern Politics.. or even In modern life..
It is a personal choice.. and should be kept as personal... Do it on your time.. and shut your FUCKING piehole when it comes to what I do with my time..
Well, according to the way I was raised, my religion (Islam) was supposed to be a personal thing and is considered unIslamic to use it to complicate things.
Seriously some of the anti-MMA comments are just unreal:
"only once & a while I see a good KO in MMA. Otherwise its a couple of guys in speedos rolling around on the mat molesting each other like a couple of alter boys TAPPING each others ass. I'll take boxing anyday."
"I would love to see a 47 yo beat a prime UFC fighter in boxing"
"If its a straight 10 round boxing fight Mercer will kill him even at 47. I hope he hurts that sylvia clown. mma sucks"
"what's with this dude wanting to box? I remember he called out Roy Jones and Dana White didn't let him fight, but now he lets him fight Ray Mercer? what a joke. He also has a sparring video where he is trying to shoulder roll and keeps getting tagged to he face! hahaa"
"Silva.. Silvya, same shit!! You act like we keep up with these bums or know who the **** they are. It was an honest mistake. The only fool here is you, you are too dumb to realize it though. I don't even think your mother likes you.. please do the world a favor and kill yourself!"
You so-called Boxing fans are disgrace to both Boxing and combat sports in general, the same way how anti-Boxing MMA elitists are a disgrace to MMA and combat sports.
And I'm definetly sure guys like George Foreman would agree with me.
you see elemental fist I joined this site to talk BOXING not MMA.I didn't join a MMA site because I don't like it.
Well the thread clearly says Tim Sylvia vs. Ray Mercer: MMA vs. Boxing, Again
First off let me say I like MMA very much and watch it when I get a chance but........
Having an ex WWF star as the heavyweight champion and now letting a 50 year old former boxer knock out a top fighter in Silva (don't tell me he's trash now because it was not to long ago this guy was still considered a contender in the HW division).
Well I wouldn't say he's trash but I didn't think he was that great of a fighter to begin with no matter how high he ranked.
And I don't think former MMA veteran Jens Pulver is surprised by the result:
Chavez Jr. lost to an MMA fighter who was 46 years old, passed his prime and lost his last 4 fights and who previously fought in only two boxing bouts, the last being in 2005.
Yeah, the Boxing/MMA discourse is going to be something for the next upcoming days.
Same thing will happen if its elite vs elite... And Mercer is OLD AS F*CK...Hahahahaha
Another FAIL for MMA....
Mercer was chocked by Kimbo who lost to a TUF reject.
Also, lol at boxing fanboys trying to make excuses for Mercer losing to Kimbo since they're calling MMA fanboys making excuses for Sylvia losing. Hypocrites.
a world class boxer will ALWAYS have a legit punchers chance in MMA but an MMA fighter has absolutely no chance in boxing:boxing:
Isn't Alexander Ustinov, a former kickboxer and MMA fighter, the current Current EBA (European Boxing Association) heavyweight champion since his boxing debut in 2006?
And Jens Pulver currently has a 5-0 record, yes it's not that impressive but you said no MMA fighter has a chance in boxing, right?
And boxers like former IBF Cruiserweight Champion James Warring fought in MMA and haven't won a single MMA belt.
Does this mean MMA > Boxing? No, just if the fighter has the determination, he will go somewhere.
Oh yeah, those who enjoy calling MMGAY and trying to make this fight look like a victory for Boxing, they are just as much as dumb fanboys just like the UFC fanboys who keep saying Boxing is Dying.
What kind of similarity both Boxing loyalists and MMA loyalists share?
Of course some of you who read this, are wondering "what, no way how can we be the same as those losers?"
Boxing promoters/personals are always looking for new words to discredit MMA whether calling it human cockfighting (kind of ironic since that's what some idiots called Boxing in the past), a sport filled with no talent bums or that no MMA fighter can succeed in boxing (well I guess no one told Alexander Ustinov that...)
MMA big shots like Dana White along with several MMA journalists are always bring up the whole 'Boxing is dying" argument, well judging from the numbers the Mayweather fight pulled off plus numbers of boxing events overseas, I highly doubt that's the case. They also think a boxer would get owned in an MMA fight, em hello Ray Mercer anybody?
Not to mention both sides' fanboys always seem to use juvinile insults that not even 14 year olds would find funny.
As for the answer to the question I raised up, well that's quite simple really....
Both are obnoxious and closedminded fanboys who love to love to discredit the other in the most retarded way possible.
:bottle: on that fanboys:boxing:
