Excerpts:
"It takes true skills to be in the sport of boxing, and-and Mixed Martial Art is for beer drinkers, boxing is for everybody. This is-uh, you can't take my shoes off and take my shirt off and just throw me in a cage. You do that with animals you can't you don't do that with humans."
"I don't know no fighter in MMA that generated a total revenue in two fights, which only lasted one hour in two fights, generated a total revenue of two hundred and fifty million dollars. They aren't even on my level, at all.
"You must be running eight and nine miles for boxing you must be able to box not five rounds twelve, twelve. And it used to be fifteen... Now that got rounds now they got judges now they got cutmen. So once again MMA stole boxing's whole blue print and run with it."
"Like I said before, in boxing we know who is dominating, black fighters and Hispanic fighters is dominating in this sport. And this is not a racial statement but there's no white fighters in boxing that's dominating. So they had to go to something else and start something new."
I agree with Floyd for the most part on the last quote. Why is Nascar as popular as it is? Because America really loves cars doing laps around a track. Huh?...
That's pretty much $pike's fault. They take out all media devices and restock the alcohol daily. What else are they going to do besides sit around?
It got to the point where some fighters were going to protest because it took longer to get food for their dietary needs then a six pack of Bud.
Haha, I knew they have something to do with it, they take away all media devices for pretty much every reality show. I'm pretty sure at least Versus tried to do the same with the participants from The Contender and couldn't.
You need to watch an episode of The Ultimate Fighter, they drink in pretty much every episode, and in one of them, one of the guys gets drunk and asks to get knocked out and he does. Classic.

Just typical Mayweather, he talks shit and people respond. That's what Ali used to do, only Ali had charisma while Mayweather just looks like a jackass prick when he talks shit.
Beer drinkers in MMA, I would say it's about the same number boxing has, not so many. Most of the MMA fighters I've watched hardly appear to be beer drinkers, then again I do watch outside of the UFC. Japan have fighters who are experienced in wrestling and kickboxing and some of their fighters with Judo backgrounds are Olympic medalists(You don't win medals by being a beer drinker).

Man now that i watc what he said live it makes sense to a certain extent but then again he makes it racial. he couldve made a valid point as in the UFC took a blueprint of boxing. I remember when MA had no rounds or time limit. there was a

i agree with him on most except the racial sh**, no white fighers? what about..kessler,sturm,abraham,klitchkos just to name a few..hasnt joe retired undefeated..floyd has to control himself seriously.
sturm and kessler rule the sport? :lol1:
Floyd was wrong for the race comment.
He even knew he was wrong when before he said the comment he prepared it by saying this is not a racist comment...and then he said a racist comment.
It is like when somebody says... "No offense but,..."
Soon as somebody says "no offense" better believe somebody is about to get offended.
Generalities usually never work. especially when it comes to race.
Floyd as a blackman should know this first hand.
FLOYD you need to check yourself.
I do think Boxing takes more discipline...but i think its harsh to label them all "beer drinkers" you look at people like ... Georges St-Pieere and know how hard he must work...or anderson silva....alot of other fighters aswel....
It just has SOME beer drinkers...
The ufc need to have time limits for how long they can lay on the ground...
because that shit is ridiculous how fast them get on the ground and long they just lay on the ground. There is basically no fighting envolve.. Just 2 men laying on the ground half naked trying trying to make the other fighter tire out and quit.
UFC would be a better sport if they stayed on thier feet more and actually fought. instead of roll around on the ground.
Calzaghe was dominating not long ago .Remember Hopkins said he would never lose to a white boy :lol1: He does sound a bit stupid because half of it aint true . For beer drinkers .A few of my old mates are in it but i still aint really keen on it but it's brutal and hard. There is alot of skill to learn because it's muay thai and wrestling grappling skills .Punches , knees ,elbows from all angles kicks and wrestling It's akward compared to boxing and more punishing on the body. The blows are bone crunchers.I done a we bit of muay thai that's how I know
boxing matches are almost 40 minutes. they used to be even more. On top of that groundwork allows for resting,
Try getting up while someone holds you down.
Trying holding someone down while they try to get up. On top of that, try throwing a punch and defend against possible submissions.
There's a lot more going on then "resting".
Also, Mexicans suck right now. I think Puerto Ricans are well past them, shit even the Asians and Germans are passing them by.
germany dont count though, all their fighters are imported. and im not just talking about the klits krashniqi etc. abraham, sturm, huck.. none of em are really german.
mexicans dont suck eighter. they fell of a little, but theyll be back. those nasty hookers (the punch) will be back.
You're an idiot. You just basically said that only Filipinos root for Pac, only Puerto Ricans root for Cotto, blacks for PBF/Hop/etc. etc.
If you were further off, you wouldn't have even replied to this thread.
ARE U RETARDED? I said people identify more with there own ethinic background. When Cotto fought at MSG MOSTLY it all P.R., When Margo fought SMM, mostly Mexicans. So according 2 ur RETARDED logic at MSG and Staples there wasn't many Mexicans or P.R.'s it was evenly. Distributed? :ugh1:
yea I was going to say
an mma fight is only 15 minutes
and fedor is fat
lol Mike Brown...sounds like some average joe
I could be wrong, but I don't think Spetnaz has fat people.
Mike Brown. The WEC Featherweight champ. A Howard Davis Jr. Project.
Championship fights are 25.
boxing matches are almost 40 minutes. they used to be even more. On top of that groundwork allows for resting, in a boxing ring it's non stop. I've done both, I would know.
the sad thing is, UFC fighters still get very tired, even after 1 round sometimes.
