It's Frank Warren's crafty match making. He has pulled off a great one here which will con people into thinking he is amazing and ready for a world title shot. He will blatantly get a WBO title shot next or soon if he beats Barrera. Marquez will probably vacate it soon and move to 140 so it will be for a vacant belt against easy opposition too.
You could say that, but remember Don King is just as involved here too.

To see khan`s name next to Barrera`s is something that should never happen in boxing but to see him fight marquez for a world title would show how bad match making in boxing is today.
Crafty matchmaking or not, if Khan ever wins a title, he would have deserved it. The lightweight division is packed. There will be no easy fights to get a belt.
And considering that Khan is viewed as a talentless bum by many on this site, I would view a world title win over anybody as an acheivement.
Not if he fights for a vacant belt, most likely the WBO, which have mickey mouse rankings. If he beats Marquez, Valero, Guzman, Diaz, Casamayor or Katsidis for a title then fair play to him. But it's highly unlikely Warren puts him in the ring with any of those.
If Khan wins, he wins on points.
hmm maybe but its highly unlikely imo, i think this fight ends in KO, if khan gets in there and lands often enough he will have MAB out of there. khan is very powerful and very quick for his weight and MAB has never been in the ring with this sort of power, bear in mind that this is older version of MAB and his chin has been hit plenty of times.
then again khan is always one punch away from being KTFO, MAB will use all his experience and ring savvy to pressure khan and lay traps for him, he knows that khan will come after him, MAB will know that he is a punch away from a W.
iv still got khan by KO or TKO in 7.

I really used to like Khan, but if he beats Barerra and gets a number one contender slot, I wouldn't mind watching Marquez brutally knock him out.
That would be hilarious!

That's the thing, I don't even think Khan will have to weather any early storm. MAB is the type of fighter that's gets better as the fight goes on. Kahn needs to start early and jump on him.
Not in a reckless fashion but be agressive and take MAB out of his comfort zone. MAB is just to old at this stage, I don't see him winning.

It's such a simple fight to plan out, all Khan has to do is stay calm and not trade with Barrera. Stay behind the jab and weather the early storm from Barrera, wear him out and take over in the later rounds.
You just know there will be a point in the fight though where he will go for it being too confident and get tagged.

Freddy doesnt seem too confident himself. He basically says 'if he beats him now then its the case that he can do something else'. Looks like hes seeing if his time with Amir is good investiment or not.
Barrera is a very smart fighter, he will land on Khan and if Willie Limond can knock him down i'm sure MAB can KO him.
My money will be on Barrera by KO
