Nate Campbell could be a true contender at 135 with his skill set, the problem I have is that this guy continues to get shots such as the Peden fights along with his dubious draw on NBC a couple of years ago. The mental game is not there for him right now. He needs to get his head out of his ass and decide if he wants to be a champion or a could have been. He can wina title vs Juan Diaz, but he would need to have EVERYTHING in perfect condition for that to happen, and it hasn't come full circle for him.
This fight can never happen...although it would be an interesting one if it could be done. Toney is looking for a mega payday within the next 12-18 months, and the only way that happens is if he can get Vitali in the ring with him. The TNT fight would be a UD for Toney since his ability to work on the inside would prove the difference over Tarver. The short punches to the body along with hooks and uppercuts make the day.
Bernard has never fought a real Middleweight? Do you want to put the crack down? He is the only person to stop the now recognized LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT champ in Glen Johnson. He fought Syd the Jewel and Antuan Echols(2x), both of whom have gone on to fight for titles at SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT. Oh, I think that he has fought a few Middleweights during his reign.
Scap, this answer is for you, and if you come out of the shadows and show you face, I'll be shocked.
The answer is Joe Calzaghe. This guy has been sitting over in Britain for years now talkin about how he is best in the division, how he could have gone up and fought Jones, how he could have gone up and fought Tarver, etc., etc., etc. This guy MAY be the best at Super Middleweight, but how are we going to know? By watching him fight Brian Magee next month? Who the $^&@ is Brian Magee? If this guy never opened his mouth again, my ears would be much happier.
Kostya by a mile. When this guys lands thew right hand, it like a mule kicking you in the face. It is great that Gatti has begun to show some better power in the last few fights, but Tszyu will one punch people, and do it easily.
This fight si gonig to be a barnburner and a classic, better than the first, which is difficult to pull off. Pac knows that he will have to work harder to get his punches off against the defense and counterpunching JMM. Pac will win this fight, in my opinion, but I would not be suprised if JMM wins a close decision based on his countering and making Pac miss.
I would be hangin with Emmanuel Augustus myself, I have no idea what goes through this guy's head from moment to moment, and to hang out smoke weed all day, and find out what makes this guy do what he do would be a very interesting day indeed. Shoot, the way this guy works, I may end up workin his corner in a fight by the end of the night, the way he works on short notice.
I will be watching ESPN, followwed by Showtime, but for ESPN, they should be happy that these shows aren't on at the same time. I would not watch Irwin get creamed by Diaz if I could watch some up and comers that alot of people are high on. I have not seen Smith fight personally, so I will be a very interested observer, much more than any fight featuring Brock-Etienne, that's for sure.
This fight is an easy decision for Hard Nard. Eastman is a very good fighter, but he does not have the necessary power or boxing skills on the inside for Nard to worry about. Nard will work him in the trenches and begin to slowly punish Eastman, starting in probably round 4 or 5. Somethingalong the lines of 118-100 or 117-111 for the champ.
I think that this fight could be on PPV, but there had better be at least 1 more good title scrap, along with a an up and comer in action on the card as well. Mayweather-Gatti on its own cannot hold its own as a PPV. Mayweather can't sell out a phone booth as the main guy, so what makes this fight any more worthwhile? Gatti is unbelievable, and I personally will be watching, but for the average fan, it may not hit the spot which makes them purchase, which is what it would need for a profit to be made.
I think that this fight will be fought to the end with Gatti coming out ahead in a close decision. Leija will come out and look to attack Gatti who be trying his best to stay with his plan which is to move and box his way to winning. Eventually, say round 4-6, Gatti will come back to the person that we know and love. He will begin trading heavy blows, and I think that the last 3-4 rounds of this fight may possibly become an all-out slugfest. Definitely a fan's fight, picking Gatti by UD, setting up him and PBF if he ain't in jail this sumnmer.
