gatti should win this, if he can't beat a 39 year old leija he has no business being in with mayweather. leija is a tough guy who's had a great career but gatti will stop him around the 6th.
Get ready for Leija-Mayweather this Summer, lol.
I like Gatti but I think he's overrated.I see this fight looking more like Gatti-Ward 1 than Gatti-Dorin.
I would like to know who you pick to win this fight. How and what round if it is by knockout the victor will win.
Total mis-match! I like Gatti big and early.....KO in 3.
These two have similar records, and I cant see how anyone can favor one over the other based on their records alone. They both have 6losses,and their common opponents are Ruelas,DLH and Ivan Robinson.Leija actually has more wins(47) than Gatti(38).
Gattis 6 Losses: Soloman,Manfredy,Robinson(x2),DLH,Ward
Leija 6 Losses: Ruelas,DLH,Nelson,Mosely,Lazcano,Tszyu
I honestly think this fight is 50/50.I like both fighters but since 95% of you think this is a easy win for Gatti,i'l have to go with Leija.
While what you say is true, Leija is a much older fighter in the twilight of his career while Gatti is still relatively fresh and newly rejuvinated with McGirt in his corner. I see it as a dificult task for Leija to outbox Gatti but, then again, if he comes in in top shape he has a very good chance at the upset.
The smart money is on Gatti but it should by no means be a blowout.
Leija is a good veteran and will make it exciting for a few rounds. Gatti will eventually overpower him and get the tko by round 6. Look for cuts in this one, possibly on both guys.
Don't get caught on a fighter's record because I've seen many undefeated fighters who are garbage and some who've lost almost as much as they've won (Emanuel Augustus comes to mind) who are very good and very tough. Records are deceaving.
I think Gatti will pull this one out but by no means am I counting Leija out. Everyone thought it would be an easy night for Mojado (get it? lol) but it ended up going Leija's way. Look for Leija to go all 12 rounds and he might even pull it out if Gatti hurts his hand(s) in this one.

Can someone give me credentials of Leija. He has lost all his major fights including fights to Oscar de la Hoya, Shane Mosley, and Kostya Tszyu. What makes you think that he will beat a fighter who is at his best right now. Leijas last 4 fights included fighters with records of 16-1, 13-7, 17-4, and 16-4. In fact his entire career is filled with fights with second class fighters. All of his major fights have resulted in a loss. He is 3 inches smaller than Gatti, and we all remember what happened last time a smaller fighter, Dorin at 4 inches smaller fought Gatti. His reach is also shorter. Gatti too, has had some losses in his career including to de la Hoya. However his last fights with Dorin (22-0) and Branco (32-0), had great records at the times he fought them, show that Gatti is really in his prime right now. It seems that they are very similiar fighters in how their careers have shaped out, however with the reach and heigh advantage I give Gatti the edge in this fight.

Gatti and Leija will trade and Gatti will win end of story.
Indeed they will trade but gatti is the bigger harder punching man, with the better chin and has mad heart. All those wars gatti was in and will be in must be really bad for your health.
*Gatti wins this one easy.
*A megabuck fight with PBF around April~June should be expected. Around the same period as Tszyu-Hatton.
*Hopefully the winners will fight each other...Gatti-Tszyu.

If you compare Gatti and Leijas record, there's no quesstion that Leijas has been in with the better opposition.Just by looking at Leijas record, you can see that he's never backed down from a challenge. He's fought Nelson,DLH,Mosely,Lazcano,Ward,Zoo to name a few.Leija maybe older age wise, but I think as far as wear and tear in the ring,I think Gattis definetly a tad bit older.Leijas lived a clean life outside the ring while Gattis had his problems with the bottle in the past. And NO,theres no way Gatti is still in his prime,LMAO!
Alot of you sound like it's a sure bet that Gatti destroys Leija Saturday night. Here's a couple of reasons why I dont think this will be a walk in the park for Gatti.
1.Gatti cuts easily and also has that bad right hand.
2.Leija held his ground against Zoo.I think Zoo would outclass Gatti with ease,so if Leija can stand his ground against the best p4p 140pounder,then why not Gatti?
3.Oscar De La Hoya The last man to KO Gatti is the promoter of Leija.Do ya think DLH is helping Leija prepare for this fight, lol.
4.Leija has played the role of the spoiler before,so this is nothing new.I know alot of you want to see Gatti-Mayweather but dont hold your breath especially when the guy you want to win is facing Mr Spoiler himself.
5.Very few times has Gatti made a fight easy on himself.Gatti made a short night in his last fight, but I doubt he gets past Leija without a few bumps & bruises and maybe even a loss?I dont see this fight being easy for either fighter but I know the winner of this will have earned the victory.
