Cool man, thanks. I googled it and found the boxrec link for jan.2009 previously, but didnt notice that you could preview every issue. It looks like the article is from august. 2008-july 2011 minus nov. + dec. 2010..though a few layout previews are missing.
Wait... so who was doing the holding....?
If Dirrell wants to come inside and hold. So be it.
But Froch is going to score points when he busts him up on the inside.
Clearly said Dirrell was holding too much. Froch also held behind the head (another form of holding) too much, Dirrell did turn his head, but Froch still isn't allowed to hit..fouls for both. Dirrell did go to the ground, believe everytime he did Forch was holding him illegally for whatever reason..didn't really see these kneel downs as a big deal. One was clearly a slip in a wet corner..in fact Dirrell slipped several times on the logos in the ring, which you can't balme on anyone but the prmoters and sponsers.
Regardless of how you feel about Dirrell's fouls, How did you score many rounds for Froch? What was effective about fouling on the inside and missing wildly with most of his shots? Which rounds did you have Froch winning?
I came into this tournament without bias just looking to be entertained. I like the six fighters, and the different things each guy brings. Tonight I was dissapointed. I am a hardcore boxing fan who has boxed for many years. I watched the fight with my brother who is a casual fan that understands the technical aspects of the fight more than most.
Few complaints about the Taylor and Abraham fight, but nothing big seeing as how Arthur clearly won the fight in the end. Taylor warned too many times for fouls that were either unintentional or illegal..none really damaging. Arthur not warned for doing nearly as much fouling.
My big complaint is with the Dirrell and Froch matchup. Dirrell ran and held too much, that is certain. Froch also held and hit too much. Sure he had some reason to be frustrated. Dirrell's holding stems from the fact that his speed causes his to close distance rapidly and fall in as he punches. Froch just stood in front of Dirrell as this happened and Dirrell fell into him. That was the cause behind 90% of the holds. It made for an ugly fight, but what do Froch fans think he missed out on here? He could have hit Dirrell some, but in the later rounds, it was Dirrell who proved to be more effective inside. Froch wings his shots and isn't a natural inside fighter...it seems to me the British fans are acting as if he would have gotten his best work done inside??? It's funny though all the Froch fans I've seen have been able to use to defend Froch keeping his belt...well along with the you have to take the tile notion. Bottom line: Froch was ineffective. He couldn't land anything, got countered repeatedly with faster shots and to top it off, he was the guy who was hurt in the fight..when almost no one expected that to be the result.
-one of the greatest lightweights of all time...forget how many title defenses he had
-beat oscar at welter, had a close fight with him in the second fight (oscar focused on fighting like an amateur and not engaging the entire time..if thats what you like then he beat mosley easily)...not an expert on PEDS but seems to me with the way the fights went PEDs would have helped more in the first fight and he beat Oscar without them then.
-beat vargas twice
-beat mayorga
-losses to forrest and winky...much more competitve in second fights, both guys were much bigger than him and had awful styles for him
-cotto fight was close
-floyd and manny are on another level from the lower tier elite fighters and an old mosley fought both of them and did ok at some things..saying a lot when you consider floyd and manny were both 100% for mosley and they blew out other good fighters worse with much less effort
-ko'd margarito
-didnt get out boxed by mora..mora did what shane tried to do last night..avoid exchanges at all costs
-was legitimately considered p4p number one at a point where roy and tito were in their prime
so you have a three division world champion (skipping one he could have also won a title in) who has some big wins and his only losses came to top fighters
The Floyd Jr. and Robert Garcia situation really irks me.
I mean I have a terrible relationship with my dad and other family members, even had more heated conflicts than they had tonight, but I just can't see how you can sh1t on another family member, regardless of the situation, while the world is watching.
to each his own, but I would have got that tape from 24/7 or told them to not air that sh1t.
at the end of the day, all that should matter to us as fans is what happens in the ring....but just watching the Garcia youtube video of him sh1ttin on his brothers and his kids, and Floyd ripping Sr. even when Sr. was saying Roger is a great training and he's not trying to take anything from him, just shows me how low class both individuals are.
Which one of the Garcia's?
All great Black men are hated by other races! Jesus Christ,Jack Johnson,Ray Robinson,Muhammed Ali,Mike tyson,Barrack Obama,Floyd Mayweather jr, etc The only rememdy for hatred is death. When a person dislikes someone, its understandable, but to hate is far more demonic. Its something deep in thier heart that motivates them to have extreme aversion or hostility. Mayweather is this eras Muhammed Ali, like him or love him, its a fact. He is a living legend, a genius at the fistic trade. Manny Pacquiao is no compotion for Mayweather jr. I believe Paqciao along with his camp, including Roach knows Paquiao is way out of his league when comparing to the master Mayweather. This is the reason Thier screaming Khans name now. They think Khans speed and size will pose a threat to Mayweather, and there right, **** any time you step in that ring your health and life is at risk, but as allways, Mayweather will be victorious!!!

Yeah you said it man, ROme is one of those badass journalists who hold athletes and coaches feet to the fire when they've never been in their shoes. Real hard to find someone so cutting edge like Jim Rome.
Does anyone remember when he got his ass kicked in an interview because he kept intentionally calling the guy by the wrong name?
Cheers mate, there's a few on there I wasn't familar with.
Ryan rhodes looks like one of the Bruiser brothers (both actually) on super punchout

It's called magnanimity. or class if you may.
That is exactly what we need in boxing nowadays.
Pacquiao will also show remorse towards floyd after the fight.
yes says the man with a shooter in his avatar. :luvbed:
You and the thread starter don't get the point, worshipping people for showing "class" after they intentionally commit the act (and will continue to with other opponents)of what they then apologize for is assanine. If a murderer is sorry for killing because he claims he didn't realize shooting someone in the head would kill them, do you instantly forgive them? Seriously, what did Pacquiao expect?
... Said he's sorry to Margarito himself, his wife Michelle, and the whole team Marg. What a class above the rest Manny is. :usa2:
http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/11/16/10/pacquiao-apologizes-margarito-after-win
Exactly. The man who is sorry for doing something he intended to do, now that is class.
:op: sorry about that honey
PAC at first tried to hurt Tony when he was still fit to fight, but you all saw PAC didnt want to do that anymore in the end. That was the class.
That's called humanity.
Are you Filipino by any chance?
Jose Rivera, Pito Cardona, Mike Oliver, Clay Bey, I dunno, Matt R, And Scully!!!!
Yes, that is Pito Cardona. In the face he looks like Alvarez, but no way alvarez has gotten that big, especially considering his forearm looks toned.
Also, good call on CLay-Bey, that's definately him.
zab is a fucken punk...what an idiot! You guys most leave in suburban usa to think just cause he's playing dice on the street fighting he is hard lmao....kinda sad he owes money to irs and he's trying to make it on the street lmao...Im not claiming to be hard or gang bang or anything ill say that first. I grew up and live in a bad part of california called Fresno and i know a little about ghetto and hoods. 2nd zab on the street is a little bitch and really isn't much to "REAL" thugs and gang bangers out there. He is 5'6" 5'7" 140lbs...on the street that is not too itimidating and would laugh if he ever hit me up on the street wanting to fight. he's a little to brave there with that weak chin of his. Zab is as unprofessional as it gets and one reason you know someone IS NOT a thug and hasnt gone through shit is because they are old and even with success and money still act like idiots and get there head blown up. If you ever come accross some real thugs that are actually hard or were hard you will see they all grow out of it and choose to stay out of it because of all the drama and danger it breaks to their lifes. judah hasnt gone through shit like that because if he did and with money he would realise its not worth it but since he hasnt experienced anything like that he keeps doing what he does untill something happens to him by some real thugs. of course i dont know his life im using coming sense and knowledge. He is not a fucken thug quit saying that shit. Most thugs are matured and grow from all their experiences. he hasnt gone through shit thats why he thinks he's tuff. Maybe if he was tougher where it counts he'd have a lot more money he wouldnt have to resort to making money playing dice. Judah on the street is more of a bitch then in the ring. On the street even being a pro fighter hes just a small guy with little man syndrom. they usually get checked pretty quick or killed if it came down to it.
Did you notice the 230 pound or so guy getting dropped by a punch from Zab over another man's shoulder?
