I've been saying Taylor is the next big thing after he smashed Ohara Davies with ease back when he was being hyped up as the next big thing under Matchroom.
But there's some here who will not admit that there's a good British fighter for once who doesn't pad records and fights the best. He could beat Ramirez who they are all saying is a god now, unify the division and you'll still get those saying he sucks and will get KO'd in his next fight LOL.
Believe it or not but I gave him 8 rou ds. As I said, I'm going to re-watch it tomorrow. I'm, not saying that my score is perfect, that's why I'm going to see it again. Anyways this is the fight of the year for me so far.
It was a great fight. I hope they do it again sometime.
Don’t know and don’t care cuz the right man won and we got ourselves another Fight of the year candidate in what has been an amazing year for boxing altogether!
Both men showed tremendous heart and great chins and sublime skills!
Would love to see a rematch at some point but now we get to see a war of worlds coming..
Ramirez vs Taylor(if Ramirez gets by Postol)
All these people jumping on Ramirez like he's the new god of 140 because Prograis failed are going to be shocked when Postol makes him look not so great and then Taylor smashes him.
Wow wtf I had Taylor winning all rounds, All Regis was doing was acting like Joe Frazier and moving his body while walking forward and throwing sluggish weak punches with no power behind any of them.
Regis only did anything in the 12th it was a little too late for him.
Regis is done some fighters are shot by age 30 and he was one of them.
I don't know how anyone can get 116-112 Prograis. Anything Prograis/even a draw is a major reach.
Prograis and Taylor both would handle Ramirez. Taylor TKO's him late.
It's pretty obvious that Taylor and Prograis are the distant #1 and #2 in the division.
So you’re saying Froch had the right card at 115-113, but the rest of the team clearly had malicious motives if they different with Froch by 1,2, and 3 rounds?
It was a close, competitive fight. I didn’t score it as I missed a few of the early rounds, but come on dude.
I wouldn't defend Johnny Nelson opinions if I was you. He is a known clown in the boxing community for his stupid opinions. He called Tony Bellew "technically" better than Usyk in the past LOL.
Froch has respected scorecards for the most part, and good opinions.
Or maybe they were unbiased in this case as they had no horse in race. I had Prograis winning as well and a lot of his body work got unnoticed because of short sharp shots, as well as his defense and blocking on the inside. The rounds weren't easy to score because of the non stop back and forth action, I'll rewatch it tomorrow. But some people are scoring by listening to the commentators and crowd loudness instead of watching which punches are really landing and which aren't. For the similar reason people over here score only the blow out rounds for GGG cuse they are blind to see his subtle offensive and defensive work in the exchanges.
116-112 Prograis is about as disgusting as 117-112 Taylor. You can't score Prograis 4 points ahead in that fight. No way.
No, I dont think we will ever see anything like Paq again. Im obviously a huge RJ fan and I know its cliche now but I truly believe nobody beats him at his best. If all things were equal Pac would have a shot. People will hate on fighters for any manner of reasons but you cant argue with facts, Paq is still beating prime undefeated champions at 40 years old. He has done this after winning straps in 8 divisions, good luck topping that. People will always find a reason to diminish a fighter but what they have done will always be.
Inoue is looking promising. 3 divisions already, he looks like he isn't staying in divisions for long.
As the topic says, I want a fighter who did what Pac did. Goes up the weights, and fights over his weight with power and quality still there. Inoue has scary power that could remain even in higher weights like Pac.
We will see soon. Maybe he moves up after winning the WBSS
Pacquiao was a once in a lifetime athlete. Absolutely INCREDIBLE performances in his prime.
He demolished Oscar, Cotto, Hatton, etc.
No, we will never see another Pacquiao. Not for like another 30 years.
He didn’t become the top 3 ATG boxer and probaly top 5 highest PPV selling boxer for no effen reason.
Inoue could be the man to do it. He has similarities, and he looks like he doesn't want to stay in divisions for too long. Already jumped 4 times.
When he likely beats Donaire, either Tete grows some balls and unifies or he will jump again and not wait.
Inoue, Santa Cruz, Loma and Canelo all have potentials... But I doubt that they will stay on the divisions north of their natural weight for more than 2 consecutive fights like GrandPac is doing since 2008...
I think Inoue will be very interesting at above natural weight divisions. He has that kind of insane power that even if it does decrease moving up weight divisions it will still be devastating like Pac.
Pacquiao was once in a lifetime man. You won't see it for another 30 years.
Inoue could be that man. There's potential.
Will he make the moves however? So far he's jumped 3 divisions, and it's likely he will keep on going.
Inoue isn’t going above two more weight classes if at all. He’s smaller than Donaire and I doubt his power will carry.
Loma/Davis are not much higher than Inoue. Staying at Bantam would be a dumb career move. He could be a superstar going through the weights.
Inoue doesn't seem to be the guy to stay in a division forever too. I guarantee his power will carry somewhat. Power that scary won't go, it might not be as good but it will still be scary. Pacquaio had scary power in lower weights but even now it's still there but not as powerful at 147. KD's in each fight.
He is a natural 147lber, he weighs 150+ in the ring.
lol natural. He's 5'4.
Doesn't he eat up to the weight as well and said he could go to 135 easily?
Naoye Inoue is already a three division champion and he skipped a division. He’s the candidate.
I hope he doesn't stick around too long at 118. When he likely beats Donaire, either Tete wants it or leave the division. I think Tete is ducking hard though.
He shouldn't wait for the BS. He should also go to the US more and become a global star.
Prograis was extremely classy and is an incredible fighter. Disgusting what some are saying now about him, he lost a close fight to a world elite fighter. For some people though they can't admit that a British fighter is actually good and not a cherry picker looking for an easy title, and I understand those boxers piss off British fans too. But Taylor has done it the hard way and deserves respect like Prograis does too.
Uk 800k
us 190k
Lacks the Sky machine to get those kind of numbers in the UK. If it was on Sky, it would've done 800K even at early morning maybe more because UK boxing fans will watch and pay for big fights on Sky even at early morning (Mayweather/Hatton, Mayweather/McGregor, Pacquaio/Mayweather all doing 1M). Prime time with Sky backing and Joshua implications being pushed would've done 1.2 million+.
I think the fight is a big draw in the UK without Sky but it would've doubled the PPV numbers with Sky backing it.
UK buys will bring it up quite a lot. It will easily outsell the US buys which I don't see doing that much really. Maybe 100K?
UK will be 300-400K. If it was on at prime time in the UK, it would've done 800K+
and then after fury walked off they say " who the he'll was that guy?"
I get you but that wasn't the point. If Wilder did that in the UK with Fury, he wouldn't hear that many no's. Fury is very well known here and known by non boxing fans... not for the best of reasons I should add.
I thought he beat Whyte myself, they’re both sh*t though, Chisora is shot to bits now.
The Tyson Fury rematch took years off his career. Was a beat down that should've been stopped earlier.
Not like Chisora was ever really top world level but he went down a few levels since that fight.
Fights soon according to Boxrec :
16th September Vs Najmiddinov.

Still at 140? Good chance he can pick up a few belts in that pretty much dead division.
