The only ones who think Rafael Marquez is ducking Penalosa is the Pinoys. Maybe in the Phillipines he is a big name fighter but in the worldwide level he's a nobody and he looked like crap in his last fight, thats probably why they dropped him because Marquez would gain nothing by beating him. On the other hand Veerapol Sahaprom is a former bantamweight champion who defended his title 15 times and at one point was ranked number 2 in the bantamweight division right under Marquez.
Since when is dropping a lesser fighter and fighting a much better fighter called ducking.
Pac nuthuggers and Pac haters, why don't u guys meet and settled it once and for all.
Manny Pacquiao has nothing to do with this thread, its about Rafael Marquez and Gerry Penalosa.
buddy, VIC has called out all Fly Champs, now if Parra considers himself a part of that, he needs to say somethin about it.
AND, I GUARANTEE YOU, VIC will call each and every Fly champ - BY NAME THAT IS, on Showtime after the Donaire fight. Make sure you watch it, so we can get rid of this excuse too.
and IM pretty sure ive seen an article before with Parras name in the list as well. Ill find it for you.
Everybody calls out the champions after a big fight. Hell somebody is probably calling out the champs right now, Vic isn't the only one. What I'm sayin is that Vic isn't serious about a fight with Parra. All he does is keep on calling out Arce even though he moved up in weight and doesn't seem to interested in fighting him. Even when Arce was in the flyweight division he was never the #1 guy, Parra is the #1 guy. Thats all Vic does call out Arce then says everyones afraid of him then fights a nobody.
Hey Ferocity,
How much does Arce get for his fights? He doesnt get any more than 350,000 to 500,000. Vic gets around that much so where is the big payday? Am I missing it? If Vic was going for the money he wouldnt want to risk his belts for 100,000 more. Just like Omar Narvaez, who avoided the 100,000 just to keep his belt in Argentina. So you can't compare the flys to the Middleweight buddy. Vic wants to show the world that he is a true champ and that he can take anyone. It will be a great fight if Arce agrees to fight Vic.
Then why doesn't he call out the real champ Lorenzo Parra? If he wants to be the best doesn't he have to fight the best, Not fight bums like Glenn Donaire.
And BTW Arce fights for HBO and Vic for showtime anyone with knowledge knows who gets paid more.
Gary Shaw has contacted managers of all the other champions. He even spent thousands going to Argentina to make the WBO Narvaez fight happen, they backed out last minute. Im sure Parra has been contacted and knows full well who VIC is.
VIC will move up to Super Fly after this fight if no one unifies.
I don't think Parra was ever contacted otherwise it would have been all over the media that Parra refused a fight with Vic just like when Narvaez refused the fight. And this is Parra we're talkin about he'll fight anybody on their own turf.
When VIC says ALL FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS, Parra falls in that group.
Parra wants no part of VIC either, or he would step up and say "Hey, you want the best, you want a title holder, here I am, come get me".
DONE.
Its pretty damn simple to me. If im callin out a group, and you are part of that group, do you stand up and say bring it on, or your gonna stay quiet until you hear your name in particular.
and he is fighting Donaire because there was really no other option besides not fighting at all, the kid Donaire at least had the balls to step in the ring with the Champ.
Yet I have never heard Lorenzo Parra's name come out of Vics mouth. He only calls out Arce even after he moved up to super flyweight. I guarantee you if Vic was serious about fighting him Parra would gladly fight him in Australia. And yet after all this talk about him fighting the best what does he do he fights another bum. And I don't buy that "everyones afraid of him crap". Lorenzo Parra fights the best and Vic is the one who is all talk and then fights bums. Just take a look at boxrec and see who Parra is fighting and who Vic is fighting and you'll see what I mean.
ok bro, you are right
you wanted some proof, i found it for you. Let Parra come after VIC if he wants him, Vic is a bigger name. Just like Arce is a bigger name and Vic has to go after him.
VIC will fight Parra with no problem, and you know it man.
I hate to break it to you but Parra doesn't need Vic. He's the number 1 guy in the division and will continue to be until somebody beats him. And like I've been saying if Vic really wanted this fight to happen he would get serious about it and tell his management to call Parra's people and have a fight arranged. Parra doesn't speak english and lives in Venezuela so he probably doesn't even know hes being challenged. For all you know Parra may also be challenging the other champs but it is only getting coverage in South America. Vic can say to the media all he wants about challenging the other champs but is he really trying to make the fight happen. And Vic fighting a bunch of nobodies is not helping his case. Parra may not be fighting the other champs but he is fighting quality opposition.
Barrera isn't coming to New York, dude. How many Mexicans you think are in New York? You can count em on one hand.
You obviously haven't been in NYC there's plenty of Mexicans just not as much as in the westcoast.
sure thing im going too upload sylvia vs arlovski 2
That was a good fight but very short. Do you have any PrideFC fights. I aslo got some Pride and UFC fights.
Man WONG PONG should be banned from boxing. His record shouldnt even count. He is fighting bums and is trying to keep his belt as long as he can. He is a bum just like his opposition. He has been KOing D class fighters. His name shouldnt even be mentioned in this forum. Hes a disgrace to the division. Arce and Darchinyan would KO this mofo. Couple months ago he fought someone with a 5-3-0 record. This is trully unfuckingbelievable.
Good post completly agree with you.
It's an old trick... punches that you prepare for and clinch your face and body, that you see coming, doesn't hurt... if he got hit with those punches when he wasn't expecting it, he would've been lights out.
Even I wouldn't go down from a Tito left hook if I had that much time to prepare for the punch... and that much adrenaline running through my body. It would hurt, but I wouldn't go down.
Then can you explain why Nate Campbell went down like a sack of shit when he gave Peden a free shot.
I agree with Xcaret here that Vic is one dimensional BUT Arce is ducking him.
Anyway, Donaire by UD. :boxing:
That might be true if he was fighting his brother Nonito Donaire but he's fighting the less skilled Glenn Donaire. I don't know why Vic is fighting such low level opposition especially after talking about wanting to fight the best.
He was called out by VIC, and for one reason or another has not accepted to a fight.
It dont matter much anyway,
THIS IS THE FIGHT ALL THE FANS WANT TO SEE, and IT AINT HAPPENIN

Who knows why the fight hasn't materialized yet it could be that the promoters couln't come to terms or because of money. But you make it sound like Parra turned the fight down which is not true.
we dont have any semen samples or anything bro ;)
Gary Shaw flew to Argentina to set up a fight with WBO Narvaez, they said ok, then Gary got back, they changed their mind and said he wont fight VIC (even though it was the biggest purse Narvaez would ever see)
Parra WBA - pretty much the same thing, his camp said he wont fight VIC, even for the biggest purse he would ever get.
WBC Interim Arce - said he is moving up in weight class, VIC said ill move up too to fight you, and no response yet from Arce.
WBC Wongjong - has openly said, NO, he will not fight VIC.
THATS THAT! please dont ask me to go around collecting articles and video and all, we have been on this same issue for months so everything is out there, believe me.
I have a very hard time believing that. Parra ducks nobody so unless you provide us with som solid evidence that he did turn down the fight that statement is BS. Parra's a road warrior you mean to tell me that Parra would fight Brahim Asloum in France, Eric Morel in Puerto Rico and is fighting Roberto Vasquez next in Panama, but he won't fight Vic. Parra always fights good opposition. Just take a look at who Vic is fighting next and who Parra is fighting next.
I thought Boom Boom moved up to 122 lbs. The WBO champ there is also a dangerous puncher in Daniel Ponce De Leon. I don't think hes ready for this kind of match up yet he'll get KO'd
This has nothing to do with racism. I have heard this talked about b4. And dont get mad white people that I am leaving you out of this argument. You guys are coming up too. Hatton and Calzaghi.
Anyways, Black guys always say to me a great black boxer beats a great mexican fighter any day.
I am mexican, but so far thats been pretty true.
Chavez got dropped by Randell and schooled by Sweet Pea.
Oscar was too slow for Mosley and to weak for Hopkins.
Duran just got clowned by Sugar Ray L. (I heard Duran's mom or dad is mex, not sure, either way he is latino, same shit. Ok we'll argue that point later)
Can anyone tell me any great mexican fighters that dropped some great blacks?
Duran won the first Leonard fight.
He would get outboxed, yet it wouldn't matter all that much because when Round 8 came, Vic would land a left BOMB and good night Parra.
We heard these same things when Vic was going to fight Gabi, Vic broke his jaw in the 8th and people still werent satisfied. Then it was all the same stuff over and over before Maldonado - "Vic has no defense, no boxing skills, bla bla bla" and he put Maldonado on the canvas for the first time in his career and won by TKO in Round 8.
Lets see how much more the talk will continue against VIC and when the fans will finally be satisfied and say, Hey, you know what, he is a great boxer with lots of power and the BEST flyweight in world.
Who besides filipinos gave Gabi a chance against Vic. He hasn't beaten anybody even in the top 20. Vic had a harder time with him than he should have. Tell me somebody in the top 30 that Maldonado ever beat. Maldonado was just an undefeated fighter with a padded record. Gabi skills don't even come close to Parra's so if Gabi gave him a tough fight what do you think Parra would do to Vic.
Parra has 2 or 3 impressive victories just like Vic so he is DEFINITELY NOT CLEARLY THE BEST.
The only way he can prove he is, is by unifying his WBA belt with Vic's IBF and IBO. Do you think he would do this?? Well the answer is NO, because like the rest of the flyweights he isn't sure if he can take Vic's punches and stay on his feet.
Parra beat Morel when he was ranked # 1 in the Ring Magazine so yes he is the best and and when you compare his opposition it is better than Vics. Believe me Parra is the last person Fenech or Vic want. He is not a brawler but a master boxer with very impressive counter-punching ability. And with Vics non existent defense he would get out boxed easily by Parra.
I've seen 3 of Vic's fight and he can definitly punch but he has leaks in his defense especially when he keeps his right hand down. Stamina may also be a problem he fought a high paced fight with Irene Pacheco and was gassed out by the later rounds until the fireworks incident that bought him 10 minutes. If he were to fight Arce I would pick Arce because he will smother him with lots of punches and make him fight a fast paced fight that may wear him down for the later roounds. if you notice in the Gabi fight Vic caught Gabi when he was on the outside. Arce would be in his face the whole night and won't let him land his full extended left hand. And by the way Lorenzo Parra is the best Flyweight in the world today.
Hey buddy,
REASONS WHY VIC IS THE LORD OF THE FLYS
First, Vic Darchinyan wants to fight anyone with belts. BUT unfortunately nobody wants to risk their belts fighting him.
Second, Vic has won his last 4 title fights by KO.
Third, he has power that impresses everyone who fights him.
I agree that Arce might have good boxing skills but this is the flyweight division. Vic wears down his opponents and comes the middle rounds he KTFO of them without any effort.
THis is why he is called the "LORD OF THE FLYS."
Vic is not the best in the division for reasons I already stated. His competion has been sub par so far. And he has struggled with some like Gabi. Lorenzo Parra's competion is superior to anyone in the flyweight division. Hell even Arce's competion can be arguably better than Vic's. I'm not saying that Vic isn't a good fighter because he is. But to call him the best in the division when Parra and Arce are there is being biased.
Lorenzo Parra wont fight anyone strong. Vic has called him out too. No way he is the number one right now.
Flyweights - 112 Pounds
BOXREC #1 - Jorge Arce
BOXREC #2 - VIC DARCHINYAN
The rest really dont matter at this point.
I agree Arce will bring alot for VIC, but again, that 1 punch is all Vic needs and im sure he will find one opening to land it.
another Maldonado quote - now this says it all...
"He did hurt me a couple of times like I have never been hurt before and I thought the stoppage was good." said Maldonado in defeat.
http://www.15rounds.com/boxing/News/2006/06/lasvegas-060306.php
Lorenzo Parra has fought better opposition than both Arce and Vic. And he beat the # 1 guy in the division Eric Morel in his own backyard. He is clearly the best.
