This is why I dont get why there are a minority of people who really dont like Oscar De La Hoya, the man fought everybody there was to fight, whether he had an advantage or a disadvantage he still fought his heart in every fight and didnt duck nobody.
So he lost some big fights at least he had the heart to take them in the first place unlike many of the boxers these days.
Imo if alot of the modern era boxers had De lay Hoyas attitude to the sport boxing would be a much better game.
The way i see it, if Hatton managed to give Mayweather some problems early in their fight, i think Ortiz has a chance of an upset.
That was Mayweather at his prime, and even though he put on a masterclass against Hatton, Hatton managed to cause some problems at times.
Ortiz has underated boxing skill imo, we know hes an aggressive puncher with fairly fast hands but he also has good boxing ability. Hes also fighting a Mayweather thats not in his absolute prime. I think Ortiz could seriously trouble Mayweather in the early rounds maybe even wobble him, but I can imagine Mayweather figuring Ortiz out by the middle rounds.
What a fight so far, suprised at how aggressive Khan is fighting, he fought patiently against Barrera and Kotelnik and now hes fighting aggressively against the biggest puncher hes ever faced.
Good so far but Maidana still is very much in it with a punchers chance
Cant wait for this fight, Degale is talented as hell but needs to get put down a few pegs, he'll probably win but Ive got a fiver on Smith, the odds were way too good.
If Degale pulls off a good win tonight though I'll be really impressed
Gotta say Cleverly's inside game looked pretty poor tonight, and his defence on the inside was worryingly bad aswell.
But I still think hes the real deal, got a fair bit of work to do, but in the future he'll be one of the top fighters in his class I think.
The scorecards werent too bad either which is good
Maidana in serious trouble in there, Khan looking superb! Seen him take a few of Maidanas shots pretty well too, he seems more solid at this light welterweight
What a fight, best fight since Kessler vs Froch for me. Cant believe Khan managed to hold on in those late rounds, Maidana came on so strong late in the fight though. Maidana, what a tough motherfu**er
khan looked really good but panda kinda expected more cuz he was a little too cautious and rarely followed up when he had paulie hurt
Hes gotten much more cautious under roach, in Khans earlier fights he would land a clean shot and then go crazy and jump on his opponants (usually ending with a TKO), but in his last couple fights hes become much more cautious and calculating.
Not as exciting to watch maybe but probably a good thing though as his chin still has question marks and if he gets hit whilst coming in wildly he could easily get KO'ed by a big puncher.
Jimmy Lennon Jr is fuggin ace, but Buffer is the king.
His brother Bruce Buffer who does the UFC though, oh my god what a clown, that guy is like a little kid, jumping around in the ring and screaming. The guy has absolutely no class and his announcing style personifies UFC
Pacquiao has explosive punching power, the kind of power that will knock you clean out and you wake up in hospital bed.
Margarito has heavy handed power, punches that have a lot of weight behind them and slowly break you down.
Id fight Marg and just run away from him the whole fight, hes slower then Pacman
It has to be Body shot, body shot, bang, bang, bang. Bang! Bang! Bang! Try and stop it! Bang! Bang! Here I come. Bang! You want to throw some time? Bang! This is the Manny Pacquiao who has dominated boxing for the past three years. Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! You want to throw back? Bang!
I think it's a huge chance that is the case. He actually looked exceptionally big against Marquez, the biggest I've seen him. Although it could have been just the size difference between him and JMM that made it seem that way.
I remember the months leading up to the Marquez fight when the fight was still a rumour, there were pictures of Floyd in the gym and he looked absolutely massive like he had been training weights constantly in his time off, when the marquez fight happened he didnt look as big but yeah you could definately tell he had packed on some muscle
Hey I might bust but it's defienlty getting me pumped for the fight!
Well good luck bro, have you got any real money on the fight? Ive got a fiver on a Khan TKO, not a massive chance but it could happen and the odds are fairly nice.
they ran a series of test and discovered he lacked balls, had a missing backbone and lacked the proper heart functions
LOL :D
Personally I dont know what to make of it, I cant see any viable reason for him to take a dive on purpose, but it all seemed extremely overdramatic
