I'm not sure I would classify him as an ATG. I believe he is a great boxer and he has fought a huge number of amateur fights but he hasn't fought enough professional fights for me to start giving him consideration for ATG status How many fighters in history has been considered P4P #1 for years in a row? If the answer is very few, then in my mind, that is an ATG. It is like tennis. If you ever reach #1 world ranking, you are considered an ATG in my book.

First of all, this fight isn't as bad as the GGG/Canelo 1 or Kov/Ward 1 or Fury/Wilder 1 fights, which were really really bad decisions and shows a pattern of North American Boxers getting the nod in North America. I can understand how someone would use the "Robbery" word. All of those fights happened in the US and fairly recently for someone to see a certain pattern. Reasons why someone might say it is a robbery: 1. 90% of the people watching the fight (multiple polls on the net and forums), including all of the commentors and people at ringside, thought Haney didn't win the fight. Anytime you have 90% of anything, which is very hard to do with polling as there is always 20% fanboys or people who hate a boxer, you know that the VAST VAST majority of people thought Haney didn't win the fight. And that includes experts, not just casuals. 2. Loma's camp specifically asked for Moretti to be removed as a Judge. And what do you know, he then scores round 10 (and rounds 7, 8, 9 & 12) for Haney. That is insane. Which means, when Loma was actually being the aggressor, controlling the ring, landing actual combos, landing more punches, throwing more etc, he gave 5 of the last 6 rounds to Haney, when the VAST majority of people would say Loma was controlling the fight by then. So anyone who scores the fight as crazy as Moretti scored it, should be ignored and never score a boxing match ever again. But the fact the Loma's camp specifically asked for him to be removed and he goes out and scored the fight that way, makes people think robbery and very suspicious. 3. CompuBox is a joke and should be replaced, but just using round 12 as an example, CompuBox had Loma landing more overall, more power shots, threw more punches etc. Both Ward (an actual boxing champion) and Kellerman (who I hate) had Loma winning round 12. All 3 judges gave it to Haney. If the judges scored it the way CompuBox and the commentators scored it, it would have been a majority draw. And that is ONLY using round 12 as an example. 4. There are videos complied that showed that Loma landing many more punches (Compubox sucks). 5. Loma landed many many more combos and significant shots throughout the fight. (snapping Haney's head back and actually putting him in danger of getting stopped in the 11th). Combos and snapping head shots to me out weigh body shots. If you don't believe me, if your friend is going to punch you in the face or body, which one you would choose! 6. Tim Cheatham gave round 3 to Haney, when CompuBox (the only thing we got freaking hell) had it decisively to Loma in power shots and more overall. Landing almost 2 times more power punches (10-6) in the round. If Tim scored that round like almost everyone else in the world did, he would have had at worst a draw on his card. Again, shows how crappy boxing judging is and why people claim "Robbery"! 7. A "Robbery" can be a close decision as well. If the VAST majority of people thought the wrong person won, which they did here as 90% thought Haney didn't win, that is a Robbery imo. You don't have to win the race by a lot to still claim a robbery. 8. All American judges scored the fight for an American in America where almost 90% of Americans thought the Russian won the fight. If this happened in reverse, but in Russia with ONLY Russian judges, where 90% of Russians thought the American won the fight, see how us Americans would react. We would of course say, that is a fairly judged fight! Freaking hell. I could go on much longer but this is long enough already. All of these reasons alone is suspicious, but when combined, I can definitely see why people would call this a freaking robbery! All this shows is boxing is waaaaaay too flawed and corrupt for anyone to really care about the results more than just something to be watchin on Saturday night for fun. But for Loma, who is one of the few good guys in boxing and with his dream being to unify the titles at 135, it really sucks (everyone knows he would dominate 126 & 130). So I feel bad for him more than anything. Haney has forever to have a great career, whereas Loma's time is running out. End of Rant.

I think Loma was just too inactive in the fight, as he was still feeling his way on how to fight a pro fight. Loma is much more active of a fighter during the fights now than he was in that fight. Other than making sure the ref doesn't miss a call, Loma I think learned to not be as inactive in a fight again. Now he is overwhelming opponents rather than doing nothing for 2 min in a round. If I am Salido, I am never fighting Loma again. That way, he can keep that over Loma forever, even though we all know he would get killed now.

Should the fight happen, yes. Will it, No imo. Lopez is too young to be feed to the best fighter in the game. This is what makes boxing so frustrating. Fights should happen regardless of where you are in your career. If you are the two best in the division, fing fight! I'd luv to see the fight, but Arum would be dumb to do that. Arum will not screw him over like Mayweather was going to do with Tank. And Lopez knows he won't be feed to Loma, so he knows he can talk crap and not worry about it. Loma on a different level than everyone now.

That is why typically you take fights before you fight for championships, to learn those things. But he wanted/s to be the best and he got burnt. Depends on which Duran shows up. Montreal Duran would beat Loma into submission. Coked out, drunk, fat Duran using his whole camp to get into shape would probably quit So then the betting money would have to be on Loma right? Would you put money on a fighter that you COULDN'T trust to show up to the fight ready to fight? So by your thought process, where you put your money is who you think would win the fight.

I wager that Hearn would knock out Lomachenko also Well, considering that Hearns fought for the Cruiser weight Title and is 6'1, that's not saying much. Now if you want to bet if Hearns can get down to 126 and fight Loma, I'd take that bet! Both bets don't make much sense.

Loma by decision and hedge it with Duran by KO. I had Stevenson by KO rd 3, 5, & 7-9 varying amounts but none higheer than $15 and hedged it with a $5 bet on a draw because of Jack's history of draws. At this point, totally agree!

Duran after he lost to Sugar Ray went 5 - 4 in his next 9 fight at the age of 29 to 34 (I understand it was at different weights). Not exactly Godlike. If that happened today, lord help us with us with how everyone would call him a bum. Loma isn't going to lose 4 boxing matches his whole life, pro + am, much less 16. Duran was great, but Loma is proving to be so far to be just as much. To think Duran could lose to the best fighter today by many is NOT crazy. Duran around 18 months before fighting Sugar Ray fought a guy with a 1-3 record! WTH! He won a lot of fights, but man, looots of bums! I cant imagine Loma fighting someone at 28 (age when duran fought him) having a record of 1-3. But Duran beat Sugar Ray, and thats all you have to say about how great he was. But give Loma a few more fights, so far he isn't disappointing.

Benitez was also 5'10 and his the youngest world champion in boxing history. Well if you think that comparison was unfair then why the hell would anybody bring Hearns vs Duran up in the first place? Talking about resumes more than actually fighting each other. But if you mean, all things being equal P4P type of fight, then ok. At this point in his career, hard to argue P4P against Loma as he is setting records and doing it by making fighters quit, but that's my opinion.

We're talking 135. After Duran fought and beat SRL @147 he was 72-1. Duran's 1 loss being avenged by a KO. With all due respect to the 72-1 record. Let's look at it more closer. At least 45 of those wins had either losing records, less than 10 wins or 8 or more losses on their resume. If we take out those 45 wins (there were still lots of not so amazing records left such as 15-7, 121-55-19, 19-5...), you are left with 27 good wins. The average record of those 27 wins were 29-5. Not bad, but not great either! Loma's average record (without Salido, same courtesy I gave Duran taking out his 45 less than great wins) is 28-2. ALL Champions except one. Undefeated fighters Duran beat during his 72-1 reign. Just ONE. Loma has already beaten 3 undefeated Champions, not just fighters. Duran is great, but Loma ain't chop liver and given time, who knows. Loma needs more fights to be compared to Duran, but it's early.

Duran was the only guy to KO Ernesto Marcel, the first to KO Lampkin and Hector Thompson... you can twist it multiple ways, but I think you're being a little unfair to be focussing on undefeated records. Duran has got some hot names on his record at 135: Buchanan, Kobayashi, sh*t, he knocked out Jimmy Robertson's teeth... There is a modern obsession with retaining a fighter's '0', and it doesn't translate well looking back in time. It's whiggish, man, you're judging the past in light of the present. I mean, the same goes both ways too, judging the present in light of the past - it's just different eras, which is why I try not to get too caught up in fantasy match-ups I agree with you that it's too early to tell with Loma, he's not at ATG-status yet. But focussing on records is not the way to go Totally agree that the 0 on the resume is wayyy over-hyped. In fact, it really robs boxing of what boxing should be about, the best fighting the best, not protecting their 0. I was just more pointing out that the 71-1 record is pretty, but you have to look deeper into the record to see if it means anything. Loma beat a guy who was 51-1 and was not close to the class of Linares imo.

YDKSAB Duran holds a W over a *prime* Sugar Ray Leonard. Lomachenko isn't fit to carry Leonard's jock strap. Put down the Crack pipe.. How can you possibly say that the P4P #1 fighter today couldn't carry Sugar Rays Jock. Sugar Ray is my all time fav, but that is like saying Roger Federer couldn't beat Jimmy Conners. Both are great. Leonard has Ws over Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler. WHO in the hell has Lomafako ever beaten? Like I said, not qualified to carry Leonard's jock strap... By Loma's age right now (30), Sugar Ray was 2-1 against Duran and Hearns. So give Loma time to carry someone's jockstrap. Sugar Ray is my all time fav, but Loma's is on his was to be an ATG as well. I'm just saying that why bring up the fact that Duran got knocked out by 6'1 Hearn at 154 in a discussion of Duran vs Lomachenko at 135? If we were talking about Duran vs Charlo, then ok. And who do you have between Terrance Crawford vs Sugar Ray Robinson? I was meaning it more that people would call him a bum if they are not perfect, nothing to do with 135. Which I don't like. Also, this is a tough question, as Loma in his first 135 fight, beat the badass of the division. That's impressive no matter how you slice it. Whereas, Duran had around 7 fights at 135 before fighting for a 135 belt. But then again, Loma is 30 and doesn't have time to mess around with 7 tune up fights. The best answer for me would be that on any given night, either could win, but Loma needs a lot more on his resume to be in Duran's class or really compare imo. Sugar Ray would win imo haha.

Boxers didn't have the same longevity back then. All athletes in general didn't. Isiah Thomas had to retire at 32 years old. Tom Brady just got MVP at 40. Sports science has came a long way. Plus Duran didn't take care of himself and he went professional at 16. He wasn't going to stay undefeated into his 30's. I agree, BUT he did fight till he was 50!! So at 33, he was not even halfway through his fighting career, which is crazy to me! And he wasn't someone who took 10 years off and had a comeback. Dude was more active in his 40's than most fighters are today. But to your sports science theory, wouldn't that make Loma a better fighter then with all that sports science behind him and he being the top dog now at 135? Not saying he is, but the sports science theory contradicts the argument of if Loma can beat him. Can't have it both ways.

People would call him a bum for losing to Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Wilfred Benitez? Laing maybe. The others? Yea, no. I disagree. Today people expect perfection or you are crap. Won - 0-2 Manuel Esteban Zambrano Won - 9-11 Jorge Suero Lost - Jorge Suero At 33, YOUNGER than GGG is right now, he fought two fighters with losing records and lost the 3rd fight. If GGG did that, holy crap, BUM city. And people today say Loma and GGG are fighting bums. Duran was great as he beat my all time fav fighter in Sugar Ray, but I believe he would be crucified for fighting a fighter who didn't even win a fight after fighting Hearns. Loma with 1 fight at 135 (beating the top dog there) did pretty well. He will need more fights at 135 to really compare imo.

If Rigo is worth that much, then why can't he get that payday elsewhere? It's important for a fighter to avenge his only loss, so of course they would OVERPAY for that. That doesn't mean under normal circumstances Salido is worth that much. So don't compare the two. If Rigo is so valuable, go get your payday somewhere else. Guess what, he won't get close to 500k if he turns this down, cause he isn't worth that much. Neither is ducking, but Rigo b wrong if he turns it down and blames Loma!

Rigo should be offered the same as Salido. If the can offer Salido 750k they should be able to offer Rigo the same. Rigo had that inherent pressure to get a big fight because of his style. I've always liked him and appreciate him as a pure boxer but I think Loma is bigger, faster and a fraction better than him. Rigo is a 37 year old man. Not a child. The only pressure he feels should come from his 37 year mind. If he is too weak to do what he wants at 37, again, NOT Loma's fault. He asked for it and he is getting it. HIS CHOICE ONLY. Should never be ANY excuses from a guy who is calling out another man publicly! So anyone who makes an excuse for Rigo is silly imo.
