I'm assuming you mean the actor Mickey Rourke. Apparently he has sparred with Monzon and James Toney. I could see a KO coming from that maybe.
There was a KO, Monzon knocked him the **** out, true story.
I would love to see Ovill get a world title shot in the near future. The mans put in work and paid his dues and is dangerous in the first three rounds against anybody.
This bloke is absolutely deluded.
Fighting and beating quality dangerous opponents is what gets you the biggest fights something that Khan hasn't done since being knocked out by Garcia. If he actually thinks beating Algieri gets him closer to a Pac/May fight then he's stupider than i thought.
I honestly dont mind either fighter or the stoppage. If you look prior to the ref "headlocking"/Seperating them George Groves arm goes completly limp. It seemed he was out on his feet. Could it have a few more punches sure it would have made the TKO more decisive. After the seeing the scorecards im glad it was called a TKO because Froch was on his way to a really unfair decision. Froch getting the TKO saved the judges but ruined the referee. But to me it seemed like Groves would out on his feet.
Arms limp, out on his feet ? What were you watching ? Watch again, Groves was walking forward throwing punches when the ref jumped in. That's not my opinion, that's a fact. He was trading punches with his hands up, hardly a fighter out on his feet.
Wilder seems a bit thick in the head, its like he really doesn't realize that his management are doing their best to avoid any real challenges and give him the safest route to a title possible. If they really wanted him to face Arreolla or any other top 15 guy it would've happened already.
complete joke. just goes to show amateur boxing can be as corupt as the pro game. i hope ward decides to punch for pay and forgets about the amateur game as theres no garuntee he wont get robbed of his spot at the next olympics as well
He's deluded to think he can do those numbers. MMA just isn't as big or mainstream as boxing is now, maybe in the future it will be.
But 500k purse ? Nah, that's just his minimum guarantee if no ppv's are sold. He'll get a big chunk of the ppv money, multi millions for sure.
geale may have gotten the split nod in germany against sylvester but he wont be getting it against sturm. sturms popularity in germany is ten times that of sylvester and in a huge unification fight with the crowd cheering everyting sturm does the judges will give him the edge in everything
Steward is a terrible trainer for khans style. he needs to learn how to fight on the inside and no fighter steward has ever trained understood how to do that properly.
joe goosen is the man he should be talking too
If Paulie isn't completely finished and can bring anything close to what he did against Broner he can definitely cause an upset. Garcia hasn't looked great recently and guys who can box on the backfoot give him problems. I'm intrigued by this fight.
Fury is also fighting a no-body. Fury is due his 20th fight, Price is fighting in his 15th fight, that's quite a difference in terms of development. Plus, Price has only had 30rds total in his pro career! 30rds over 14 fights, can you really blame him and his team for trying to get a few rounds in? Aren't prospects allowed to develop and learn anymore?
By Price's 20th fight I predict he will be fighting better opposition than this.
You cant say Fury is fighting a nobody because his opponent hasn't been announced yet.
Fury fought an undefeated Chisora in his fifteenth fight, that's quite a difference in terms of development from Matt ****ing Skelton.
Also fury fought John McDermot in his 8th fight and Price fought him in his 12th, so you're argument goes out the window about who fought who and when
You're just being biased pal its clear as day light
So all this whining is because the guy worked the corner of a Chinese fighter ? If he wasn't licensed then fair enough but if it turns out he was then there is no problem.
Unless this show becomes a monthly feature i couldn't car less about it. Seems a bit pointless to have an hour long show talking boxing once every 4 months.
Having read this disgusting garbage I felt compelled to comment. Are we really letting Theophane write his own pieces?
There are so many lines in this piece that are laughable. I felt sick reading this utter ****. He is one of our better cans nothing more and nothing less.
P4P sparring partner...
LOL i was thinking the same thing either theopane or his manager wrote this
That's a load of ****. The real reason they need to have something done in the next two weeks is because Gary Hyde is pressuring the WBA to mandate Quigg vs Rigo and they don't want to fight Rigo. So they have to get something signed soon or else drop the title and look like cowards.
I was expecting part of this article to be about British referee Ian John Lewis, who also messed up on Saturday in the Fielding/Vera fight. He's been consistently the worst referee in boxing for the last 3 years and has many fans, writers and fighters calling for his sacking.
