He just said this an ESPN A Los Golpes radio interview yesterday.
Host: You had a very complicated fight with the Mexican Carlos Molina where you had a draw. Would you like a rematch?
Lara: No, no, not anymore. The problem with Carlos Molina was a problem of inexperience. I was overconfident and didn't prepare well. I only had two weeks of preparation.
Host: But would you like a rematch with him or not?
Lara: I have no interest in Carlos Molina. What has Carlos Molina done? He had a draw with me, he beat Kermit Cintron, and he hasn't done anything since then. What else has he done?
Host: He had another controversy with Kirkland.
Lara: He lost via technical knockout. He hasn't done anything else.
If I was Lara, I wouldn't fight Molina either.
122 clinches?
Who wants to see or fight that lol
He wants to fight him, he is been asking for the fight for a long time now, He ask for Molina after he KO Hearns, his manager that happens to be Molina's manager too is the one in the middle, on top of that he is a very manipulative guy and my guess is that he is been putting some $h1t in Lara's head, all those times that you have read some tough talk from Lara, it wasn't him it was De Cubas... Lara is a very humble kid.
The source is right in the my post! Audio and all. You can listen to his own words. What's there not to believe?
Yes the post is right but you fail to mention that he said if no one steps up to the plate (Maravilla, Canelo, Trout, K9, etc...) he will welcome anyone from 154-160 his preference was Canelo, Maravilla o PW but he will fight anyone.
He say that he is not interested in another fight with Molina, his preference is Canelo, Maravilla, Trout, Vanes, K9 but if no one steps up he will welcome anyone from 154-160, so he wants the best of the division but he ain't ducking anyone... He also said that GBP will never make a fight with Canelo because he is the "el niño lindo" de Oscar.
First I haven't heard of that interview and the first thing he said after he KO Hearns was, bring Molina, so until I heard from him I don't believe that $h1t I know for sure he ask for Molina and de Cubas didn't oblige because he is carlos manager too, from where he got the interview I don't know but that;s not what he say after his last fight...

yea he scared to lose his momentum again by losing to molina but this time the judges might get it right, lara is good i think he can get the martinez match
How about a Lara-Kirkland fight to determin a mandatory challanger for the WBC 154lbs title
Kirkland had surgery and will be out for a while. That is why the WBC tried making Lara-Vanes but Vanes pussed out.
I said this even before the Kirkland fight. I'm not interested in a Lara/Molina rematch either because the first one wasn't that great. And while Molina said he's interested in a rematch before, he's not screaming for one so it's not like Lara is actively refusing to give Molina a rematch. That being said, I'm disappointed that Lara as a fighter doesn't want to avenge a draw that most people thought he lost.
I think him saying he doesn't want it is evidence he knows he will have another tough time figuring Molina out. It is okay though seeing as there are way more lucrative fights in their division for both of them. It is not like Pacquiao-Mayweather were both are the top of their division and need to fight.

And he's giving a bull**** excuse with that "What has he done?" crap because Molina has probably done more than what Lara has done.
He needs to fight somebody before that momentum from the Hearns KO runs out.
From Hearns ??? :lol1: ... he carried the momentum from the Paul Williams robbery ... but he does need to keep busy
I want no part of boxers who engage in excessive clinching, too, Mr Lara.
Boring, defensive boxers should be avoided at all costs. They'll ruin your career if you're a boxer.
