Pacquiao fight? I think it was a mistake for Jr to switch trainers, I think Floyd would have beaten Pacquiao more convincingly had he had his uncle in his corner not his father. And it's not because Roger was the better trainer, but simply for the fact that Floyd had been working with his uncle much longer and they developed a relationship where Roger would say one thing and Floyd would simply register and get it. You didn't have that communication with Floyd and Sr. Back then Floyd looked invisible under his father, and I noticed he was less sharp under Roger for his first couple fights, but eventually over time Floyd was able to get back to form. I've criticized boxers in the past such as Cotto and Dawson for switching trainers often which obviously hurt their performance in the ring, in the case of Chad and Cotto they would have been a lot more successful had they just stuck with a trainer before they won the title.

Ward plans on fighting in February, he says he wants the WBA lhw title which is currently held by Kovalev. The number one ranked WBA fighter is Felix Valera who is a southpaw. Even though he is a southpaw, it still would be a good fight for Ward to shake off ring rust. Ward was probably expecting to fight the winner of Froch/Groves but that fight ended in controversy, so that fight is out of the picture. I'm thinking Ward will fight one or two more times in SMW then move up to LHW. Maybe he will fight against Thomas Oosthuizen or Robert Stieglitz. Hunter spoke about a possible matchup against James Degale. I think those are the most viable options for Ward at SMW.

he's so mentally fragile. His career-decisions are questionable, from switching trainers often, to accepting fights that makes no sense (such as the Ward fight). From what I saw from Hopkins-Dawson II, I knew he was not going to beat Ward (which is why Ward was a 4-1 favorite). Dawson should have beaten Hopkins much more convincingly. Hopkins was 47 he fights in spots, and he doesn't even have a jab, and Dawson wouldn't let his hands go. I think only Steward or Floyd Sr can take Dawson to the next level because he needs a trainer that can discipline him Dawson needs a trainer that will get rid of his bad habits. Steward would have made Dawson a better boxer once he understands his strengths and weaknesses, and it was strange how Dawson just fired him as a trainer in the middle of a big fight, that's another sign of mental weakness. He also ducked Adrian Diaconu for three years, a B level LHW, and finally fought him in 2011. He called out Ward after beating Hopkins which I found strange, he easily accepted Ward's demands for only 600k. It turns out from Scully that he was weight drained, and he was getting beat up by his sparring partners. I don't know what to expect from Dawson from here on out. He set himself up for a loss against Ward.

As a Dawson fan, I'm not that disappointed, I kind of expected this. Dawson will bounce back. Some fans will say he needs a new trainer? Dawson was at his best when he was with Floyd Sr, but those bridges are burned. Maybe he should switch to Steward, he will teach Dawson how to use his height and reach better. Dawson didn't look fast at all, he wasn't moving as much, and he was right in front of Ward all the time. Keep in my I'm not making excuses for Dawson, Ward probably would have beaten Dawson at 175. But Dawson's skill go up and down everytime he switches trainers. As much as I like to blame the trainers, it's all on Dawson.

This video breaks down many of the punches that were supposed to have landed on Bradley, but actually missed. I had the fight a draw. I gave round 1, 6, 7, 10-12 to Bradley. But watch the highlights of the 3rd round in this video, and watch the actual 3rd round, Bradley won that round imo. It was close, but I thought he landed the cleaner more effective punches. Rounds 3, 6, and 9 were close rounds. Rounds 1, 7, 10-12 Bradley won those rounds convincingly. The judges were not blind, but the HBO commentators were clearly drunk that night. Bradley showed excellent defense in this fight, he had his right hand up in a way that Pacquiao would often land on Bradley gloves. What I saw was Bradley parrying, and effectively slipping most of Pacquiao's punches.

Now that Pascal and Cloud are fighting in August, there is very little options left for Dawson. I don't know if Cleverly is ready for Dawson. Shumenov holds the WBA belt, I think that would be a warm up for Dawson. Dawson of course would give Shumenov a boxing lesson.

Good analysis of the first fight.

First off that wasn't a foul by Dawson. Hopkins missed with a right hand and was coming to Chad while Dawson was ducking. Dawson of course lifted him up, as he would getting back up, and simply threw him down. It wasn't a hard take down, that happens all the time in boxing (See Mayweather vs Genaro Hernandez, see Cotto vs Clottey). Hopkins kept Dawson at a proper distance, he stayed away from Dawson's jab and trying to force Dawson to use his left hand more, kind of like what Pascal did. But Hopkins wasn't controlling the pace as some people think, because he didn't land anything at all in the second round, neither did Chad. The first round could have went either way, I gave the first round to Chad because he did more damage with his left hand. IMO if the fight continued I think Chad would have picked up the pace and scored a decision, of course my prediction doesn't matter because it becomes a "what if the fight continued".

The most skilled heavyweight Wladimir fought recently was Eddie Chambers, and I rewatched that fight. Chambers looked helpless, there was absolutely nothing Chambers could have done to win that fight. Eddie had the skills to beat Wladimir but not the size. It was like watching a welterweight fight a super-middleweight, the size disparity was too huge. Haye on the other hand is 6'3, he had the size to beat Wladimir, but not the skills. He hasn't honed his craft yet. Will there be a heavyweight who's skilled as Chambers but with Haye's size? If Wladimir fought a prime Holyfield, I think Holyfield would have won.

Pascal has a style that's tailor made for boxers, Dawson on the other hand is too young, too fast for Hopkins.

WTF are these commentators talking about? Hopkins is landing clean punches, but it's not hurting Pascal.

Let's be real here, David Haye is the only heavyweight that's capable of beating Wladimir. He's a pretty big heavyweight, 6'3, 78" reach, big power, fast, and his explosive. Haye has the boxing style to give Wladimir problems. He has all the natural physical gifts to beat Wlad because he's big enough, but is he skilled enough? Eddie Chambers had the skills to beat Wladimir, but he didn't have the size. David Haye has the size but I don't know if he has the skills. I question Haye's defensive skills, his chin, and can he bring his game up if they do fight?

Rematch with Solis? Maybe a fight with either Chambers, Adamek, or Povetkin?

Dawson looked rusty, he wasn't active enough, I think the long layoff got to him. He should consider fighting someone else before fighting Pascal again, maybe a tune up. Also Pascal does have the ability to take an interim bout first. But Most likely Dawson will and Pascal will fight again next.

I watched a lot of Mayweather's fights and he seemed sharper both offensively and defensively when Floyd Mayweather Sr. was the head trainer. Of course Mayweather is now an experienced boxer, and he doesn't necessarily need his father, but I'm glad FMS is at least the co-trainer. I doubt we'll see the FMJ in his prime like when he fought Tony Pep and Genaro Hernandez, but from what I saw against Mosley I still think he beats Pacquiao. This is Mayweather in his prime, obviously he's faster, sharper, and has a better work-rate then he does now.

Watch this fight and your opinion might change. Peter has a really good counter right hand. Keep in mind that Nagy Aguilera knocked out Oleg Maskaev in one round, and Peter sent Nagy in queer street in two rounds.

The battle of the small heavyweights. I believe Chambers is a boxer that still hasn't fought to his potential, I don't know what he's going on with Chambers right now, but he clearly needs a new trainer. Adamek on the other hand is about as good as he gets right now(and that's no disrespect to him), but at least he's fighting to his potential. Who do you think wins?

Where is Freddie Roach, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Nazim Richardson, Floyd Mayweather Sr, etc? No wonder a lot of these heavyweights lack word class caliber skills. A lot of these heavyweights don't have a good team or a solid trainer. I know Floyd Mayweather Sr. would be blasting Chris Arreola.

I think any one of those guy's would either knock out Hopkins or beat him senseless. I think it's time Hopkins actually fights a legit contender for once or retire.

Dirrell said an interview that he would like to be more active since he will have to wait a while for the winner of Ward/Green. Now that both Hopkins and Dirrell are done with their fights, why don't these two get it on?

Why didn't Hopkins fight the winner of Dawson-Johnson II like he promised? How come he couldn't fight Danny Green who is obviously more of a threat than Roy Jones Jr. It's cherry pickers like Hopkins that is ruining the sport of boxing, yet fans still think he's the #1 LHW, what? Hopkins I hope you retire this year.
