I just want to point out. Before the fight with Haye... I remember Tyson saying... unless David Haye was some kind of Animal or Beast that he hadn't seen before... Then Wlad would be just too good, too skilled for him... I didn't word for word quote cause I forgot where I saw that.
Anyways... As for Wlad's losses... Many great fighters have had losses in their career. Even Lennox said, he was like fine wine... That he got better with time... That is until he fought Vitali and was losing on the scorecards and he got the win on cuts. We all know he retired without looking back because he knew the Klitschko brothers had arrived to take their crowns... That fight with Vitali showed me that Lennox was truly a formidable opponent. I wasn't sure he was great b/c he beat a washed up Tyson etc... But he sure was bangin with Vitali and it was a great fight by him.
I'm American but I honestly think the brothers are some of the best Heavyweights in history... Not that they are more skilled than the other ATG's. But rather just the combination of their size, skills, power and intelligence. It's a new era for Heavyweights, where if you aren't Huge AND Skilled, you don't have much of a chance.
So, if you're nostalgic for the old Heavyweight division... Perhaps, it's time to open your mind up to the new era... The brothers will eventually lose or retire... 7 years is already a long time to stay at the top of the Heavyweight division. Soon enough there will be new blood that takes over. I just hope the titles don't keep switching hands and that we get some more dominant fighters.
Just Showing some respect for this thread. I felt the same way. It was an easy 9-9 score... That is... If you can score 9-9 in this scenario... It's true, an off balance knockdown gets you a point... but it don't give you a round you were losing in my book.

He doesn't have skills. He is hot steaming garbage. He got (and continues to get) exposure for one reason...and one reason only.
There are many better SFW/LW's. In fact, there are 126ers who would move up and beat him. I wish they would put him in with, say, Gamboa.
Hell, i'd put him in with JuanMa at whatever weight Litzau wants.
I'd like to see those fights made as well.
What reason* do you believe he gets exposure? I have a guess, but I hope I'm wrong.
-Peace.
seen him fight twice....Twice I seen him KTFO...First Hernandez in which he should have won. He was rocked more than once then was Lightsout. Then there was Guerrero. Lightsout again.
Yah... Those are his two losses. Like you said, in the Hernandez fight... He should of won. Guerrero is definitely a pretty good fighter too. I still like seeing him fight. I remember him talking like he wanted to perform for the crowd like Gatti. His chin doesn't seem to want him to though. :)
Hey thanks for posting. I also, rewatched the fight before (prolly multiple times). Not only to score the fight thoroughly but b/c it was such a great technical battle.
I think I had it for Clottey 114 - 113 possibly up to 116-113 if I scored a couple draw rounds. However, (I'm not sure but) I believe even Compubox supports Clottey round by round. Not just like a few rounds here and there that Clottey jacked up his compubox count with.
I know Cotto is a warrior but I don't think you should score fights on who seems to have more heart. Either way, it's one of the great fights of boxing imo. Pacman will have to be a legend to runover Cotto.
-Peace.
Boxing is universal imo... It unites all fans.
AA is very enjoyable to watch imho. He fights like a snapping turtle... It's awesome! However... I've enjoyed the Klitschko brother's reign since the beginning as well. I'm pursuing boxing... So I guess this makes me more objective when watching matches. I always watch to see what's best, no matter whose fighting.
I'm not sure... But I think Acelino Frietas vs. Jorge Barrios had a wild crowd (though I don't think it was too big)... Brazilians is what I think the crowd was mostly made up of.
Good question. However, the right call was made by Tony Weeks in stopping the fight. Castillo was standing unconscious and it wouldn't of been worth finding out if Castillo could of continued. It's possible if he fell down he may have recovered... Either to come back and win or continue winning... Or, get knocked out or down again with the battle raging on. The obvious danger is that more power punches were landed on a defenseless Castillo, causing permanent damage.
Yup, just an great fight to reflect on. :)

"Mayweather/Mosley" is a great fight possibility, and I'ma let you finish ; but "Jones/Hopkins II" is the greatest "fight that should've taken place 8 years ago" of all time!!!!!!
Haha, Shoulda kept it closer to the original words. :boxing:
I agree with everyone... Very one sided fight... Whoever rigged it thought this one would be close and they'd get away with a split decision win for Bradley.
However, It was very one sided and so the rigging looks terrible... And turns boxing into a play... My favorite sport too... Sad panda.
Honestly, I thought Paulie got robbed... Not from the decision... But because the judges were biased. I actually had Diaz winning by a round or two... It's the way I scored it, "Affective aggression". Paulies' jabs just weren't enough for me to give him the fight. So no... No lenscrafters or anything. I was very neutral and maybe even Paulie favored for the first fight... But after this article... I hope Diaz Gives him a Hatton-esque beat down. War DIAZ! :)
"The Heavyweight Division" is great, and I'm happy for them, and I'ma let them finish ; but "The Strawweight Division" is the greatest "nobody gives two drops of rat piss about me" division of all time!!!!
LoL... You can't stop yourself Kanye !
the heavyweight division has been plenty entertaining for the past few years, unless you hate the klitschko brothers for some reason. enough with the "saving" business will ya?
I agree ! :flowers1:
