If avoiding punishment were the stuff of "track stars" why do you find equipment in every boxing gym that improves head movement? Why do fighters wear ankle weights? jump rope? And simulate ducking punches when doing pad workouts? If I threw something at your head, hopefully you would have the wherewithal to move out of the way. ... Or Would you Stand there get hit, and then throw something Back....? Generally Speaking.... I think fighters only resort to fighting flat-footed because they have no choice. and boxers like Mayweather has plenty of options, so he doesnt stand flat footed...., instead he boxes on his toes, just like SRL, SRR, or ali.. So the question really is....? Should he take punishment to give punishment...? (Like fighters such Margarito) Are Should he give Punishment and avoid Punishment..? (as he is doing now....) Floyd did nothing to an OLD ODLH. I saw him running. Got one lucky punch against Hatton, again, I saw nothing but running, hugging and elbows galore from Floyd. Now, let's talk about the DESTROYER Manny Pacquiao against these same fighters. Manny got hit less by both fighters. Floyd after his bout with an OLD ODLH, had a big mouse under his eye. Hatton was hitting Floyd the first 4 rounds. Did Manny suffer this kind of punishment? Manny was barely touched by either. So Floyd is the runner and the lesser of a fighter. Are you that blind Horus? So how does the fact that Floyd got hit more against ODLH and Hatton make Floyd the so called overall better fighter? Do the math. Manny to Hatton 1 round and a half. BOOM! Destroyed. ODLH. 6 rounds of PACMANIA flew wild and ODLH said NO MAS. Floyd got hit by Hatton, Floyd struggled and was only lucky with a punch he should have landed ages ago. Manny More ACCURATE because Manny did it in less than TWO. Should I keep going? Should I try to explain it another way?

I picked Pacquiao to beat Hatton in 5, so it was no real upset for me. Although the way Manny Mopped Hatton for a round and a half was a bit unexpected. I cheered like a mother freckle when DOWN WENT HATTON! lol Who am I to dictate what the public deems as fight of the year. But Pacquaio/Hatton deserves an honorable mention. I can feel that analogy but let me continue with it... MMA is to Boxing what Arena Football is to the NFL. Boxing is just boxing, it is what is and it will continue to be what it will. MMA tries to implement all aspects of legal street fighting. Both sports however do take that you have something going for you. MMA has evolved while boxing has stayed the same. MMA is not for everyone just as boxing is not for everyone.
