p4p
if you don't have ray robinson number 1 you need help.
1 ray robison
2 willie pepp
3 robato duran( as a light weight)
4 marvin Haglar
5 evander holyfield
6 ezzard charles
7 archie moore
8 roy jones jr
9 floyd mayweather
10 sam langford
nah
mayweather had little credit as far as being a stand up guy anyway so it dosn't really do anything. as a fighter i give him all the credit in the world. p4p 6 time world champ. he is the best. but as a peson he seems so annoying. his constant need to talk himself up leads me to think he must be insecure for a reason(small dick maybee but who knows) and it's not his fighting skills.
what
If john ruiz gets another title shot they i want one. the only two ruiz fights iv'e ever enjoyed where tua knocking him into next week in less then a minute and toney giving him a boxing lesson. he(ruiz) is the worst fighter to evr hold a belt. he is more of a wrestler then a boxer and seeing his fight with rahman (from rinside seats mind u) was the worst sporting event i've evr been to.
The details are almost over all they have to do is fight. I like Cotto by late round knockout in a fight of the year kind of fight. If cotto can come through one more time then he is the mandate to mayweather and his pound for pound tittle but since he has his reamatch with delahoya in september and will probley take atleast six months before he fights again cotto has time for another fight before that. I would recomend a rematch with the wineer of mosley vs judah. Both gave cotto a good fight and after they face each other one will have a big win in recent memory. So here it is retarts cotto knocks out Marrgito the fights the winner of mosley vs judah then mayweather. This would be in a perfect worl so we shall see.
what
I will say mack is a good fighter and there is nothing wrong with tune up fights. but come on lets get a better oppenent then this bum. I bet i can whip this guy. i guess we'll have to let it slide but lets hope mack steps up in his next fight.
you got 3 of the final 4 right. i add toney as my sleeper pick instead of valov.but i have sam peter beating the hell out of ruslan chagav. in about three rounds. wlad winning it all by another unamious decision not unlike the first fight they had. wlad klitcho gets off floor and out box's still somewhat crued samual peter after knocking toney out in the final four. one more thing i must say valov is so overrated this guy needed a hometown decesion to beat john ruiz. a washed up john ruiz at that to.he's going to take a spanking from chagav in there rematch coming up. he better go back to fighting owen beck and monte barret again. don king is going to get him killed.he's like the 2008 version of primo carrnera.he's only slightly more entertaing then john ruiz aswell.
The IBF blows
This sucks. Why not have a rematch to a great fight that wasn't telvised in usa so we can all see it on tv instead of youtube. Instead we ruch lorenzo in. This kid is a live underdog but would benfit greatly from another fight or two before abarham.
stop hatin
the guy is coming off his first loss. Is anybody breaking hattons balls for fighting juan lazcano. no then why kessler. Its for a bullshit belt to add to the collection and he's already beatin mundane once. so he knows well. Lets us not forget to mundane is the number 3 contender and kessler 1 by ring magazine. with miranda not anywhere in sight. so back up off kessler.
what
just because this guy beat a washed up willie jorin. who sucks anyway. dosn't make him any difrent from all the other stuble bums. Roman gets an easy win and moves on. im ok with that but lets be honest. After that i would not put nim in with joan guzman right away. Guzman is an eleite p4p type guy roman isn't ready for that. let him fight a south african like a fana or malcom klassen. ther's plenty of good juior welterweights down there. give him five more fights against top twenty fighters in the division then give him his shot. he's moved slow with his career so far why rush now,
i like an upset here
i think santos can pull of the upset. Don't forget he beat marrgirto and stomped out jose rivera to geta shot at the belt. Two of his three defeats where close calls over seas in his opponents backyard. He may have really only lost one fight in his career. I can't cay didn't see those fights. I think santos is the next winky wright or vernon forrest. The guy who nobody talks about until he's among the elite of the sport. A win over alcin could send him on that path but i'll have to just wait and see on july 5. I could be wrong but thats rare.the only way i see daniel not bringing the belt back home to purto rico is another hometown decision. The fight is in alcine backyard. lets hope the judges arn't three blind mice.
come on
i see that everyone is ripping on kessler come on. He unlike miranda can say he's won a belt sorry make that 2. aswell he has only 1 loss not 2 and has never been knocked out. he more then likely got a fight for 1 of the 3 belts calzahe will vacate in moving up in weight. Im sorry guys even if your not the real champ a belt is better then a win over miranda. edision is one of my fav fighters right now but he did get knocked out last year.
i wouldn't do that
why rush this kid along. He just went 12 rounds for the first time(in his last fight}. He still hasn't gone 12 hard rounds or been in with a top ten lightweight. lets let him fight somebody around eight, nine, or ten in the rankings instead of rushing him to one and two. i'd rather see his promoters put him in with yuri romanov or kid diamond. This would be the next logical step for me. Not that i would give him no chance against nate and joel but im not sure he's ready.
whole lotta b.s.
I am the first to rip cory spinks for running more in the ring then he fights. with this said though a jr middle weight belt holder and ring magazine no 1 desrerves to be on t.v.. Even espn 2 didn't pick this up come on. he has stunk the joint out more then once. spinks is still the top man in the division and a win hear does give him options like a vernon forrest fight which would be for the real jr middle weight tittle or late in the year he could be the fight oscar calls for to end his fighting days. even next year he's the type of fighter i can see the p4p king mayweather taking to aviod cotto. The key of coarse is spinks not just winning but entertaing that way he can still sell out in his hometown of st louis( the only barging chip other then that ibf belf he holds that he has for any big fight).
only getting better
As good as this year has been i think it's only going to get better. With almost the entire light heavyweight division on display this month{ only roy jones or of the elite not fighting}. aswell a nice welterweight double header on the 12th{cotto vs gomez and cintrone vs marrgirto 2 } we shall keep rolling into the big events and great matchups the rest of the year. this month the same night{the 12th}as the welterweight doubleheadrer on hbo showtime gives us a great light heavyweight doubleheader. On the same card we see the lone young gun in a division ran by guys atleast 33 and up. The 25 year old chad dawson takes on the biggest name of short career.Glen Johnson the former legit light heavyweight champ. On the same card clinton woods try's to erase the memory of being beatin up in the usa by roy with a win over the man to end his rein antonio tarvar. four great fights all on one night take us to the 19th when we see the real champ at 175 bernard hopkins defend those laurels against joe calzahe the super middleweight champ moving up in weight. This matchup of top ten p4p elite is on regular hbo witch is a shock. after a weekend without any fights we return with a free delahoya fight witch is even more shocking then 2 p4p elite for free. All jokes a side his tuneup against steve forbes will get watched at my house. a few weeks after that one of the sports most liked fighters returns with ricky hatton vs juan lazcano. Say what you want about hatton he is the real champ at 140 and he's fighting a legit top ten contender.this along with alazander munoz vs christian mijares and mosly vs judah{with a packed undercard} keep us rolling into the summer. We get pavlik, abarham, pacquiao, and forrest all in tune up fights aswell as a paul williams vs quintana rematch. Im sure that many more big fights will be made and then in september we have mayweather delahoya 2. so my friend i think it's only getting better.
well huh
yes that is not enough money but a 2nd win over williams makes him a legit contender in the hottest division in boxing. another win gives him a leg to stand on in asking for a rematch with cotto. who isn't just the only man to beat him he whipped his ass.
normly i would say to hang it up but there is the perfect fight out there for him. a fourth fight with glen johnson. most say johnson won all three but it's 1-1-1- so why not a fourth.all 3 where good fights and johnson is coming off another close loss and probley won't be able to find a bigger fight right now. so a fourth meating would be music to his ears aswell.the winner gets one last shot at the top the loser should call it a day. a true crossroads fight. so stick around clinton and fight glen again since nobody else will.
nice
It's a good move for a young star to sign with gbp. it's an even better win when the real champ in your weight class is also under there umbrella. i'd love to see him and joel fight and cosidering the thrills they both gave us in there last fights i'd say it's almost a can't miss as far as it being a good fight.
don't think so but theres more then one way to skin a cat
I don't think oscar has enough left to beat floyd. But a tune up against forbes will help. I don't know if im sure he in his prime had a chance let alone now. but since he has a fight and mayweather will have 9 months plus of ring rust to shake off i do see another close one. the just that gave the fight to oscar last time was blind but one more blind guy on the judging pannal and you have a robbary. i hope it dosn't happen but i see it coming. if oscar keeps it close like last fight. like i think he may you may see grand theft p4p status aswell as the welterweight crown legit and wbc. since delahoya is coming down to 150 for the forbes fight. he will most def make 147 for those laurels. with smaller gloves at that weight then at 154 and a tuneup fight. delahoya will keep it close but i like floyd 7 rounds to 5 aslong as the judges can see. not the beating most are calling for.
good move
there was no reason for jorge to stay at that weight anyway. Everybody dles is moving up and vacating belts and he already whipped larrios. He sould try and fight valreo at 130. Now thats must see tv.
Not a bad remtach if it's on T.V. in the states it would be nice. I'm getting tired of watching fights on youtube the next day. If Felix Sterm can put on a good performance he might just get a fight with on of the elite in that division like Pavlik, wright, and Abarham. That is the only way he can become a real star in boxing. He had a draw last time he better come in focused this time or Griffin will pull the upset.
good
I think this sets up the perfect schedule for Chad Dawson for the rest of the year. He can fight the undeafeted Adrain Diacanu in june the have a remtach with Glen Johnson around September and then Fight Tarver in december or early next year. After not looking his best against Johnson in his last fight i wouldn't rush him right in with tarver or the Johnson rematch. Let him fight the other young gun in the division and get his confidence back then go after those guys. You never know if he can rip off those three wins he may even get a fight with the real champ Joe Calzahe.
I don't know if it's a knockout but
I don't know if it's going to be by knock out but he will most defintly win the rematch with Delahoya in september. I think it's goin to far more one sided then the first fight I think to. One last parting shot aswell if people don't like this rematch just wait until next spring when he fights the over rated Rick the hitman Hatton ove in England. The so called hardcore fan should be real upset then when he gives a guy a remtach who he just brutly knockout.
ok
i can agree that briggs is an f class fighter. He got a gift against foreman in the 90's and won a belt off of one single flury against a weak chinned russian. peter isn't the second coming of ali or anything but atleast he's fun to watch. Briggs has no skills. He can just punch. go fight in a tough man contest.
why not
why not a rematch with hatton. the first fight was better then the delahoya fight and that got a rematch. since it wouldn't be til next spring. he would have to fight cotto(if he stays unbeaten) right after though or that would be unfair considering the guys already been the top welterwight not named mayweather for a while and that fight(mayweather vs cotto) won't be for atleast 15 months and the guy(cotto) is already the legit number one contender and does deserve his shot at the champ. still the rematch in england would be a huge event and good for boxing. but even across the pond it would be the same result mayweather by ko. hattons not a real welterweight and mayweather is to fast.
thats what i thought.
adamak is one fight away from being the best in the division. if haye moves up as he says he will and adamak beats cunnunham then he's the man. he was among the elite at light heavy with his only loss coming to the still unbeatin chad dawson. he lost his wbc belt to dawson that he had won in beating paul briggs in the first of there two brutal meatings. He also defended that belt against hugo gary a half decent light heavyweight. he look weight drained in his loss to dawson even though he was able to knock him down late in the fight and since moving up to cruiser weight he has looked in great shape. winning three strait fights in domante fashion. including this knock out of the man who started 2007 as the lineal champ oniel bell. the sky is the limit for adamak at cruiserweight but the sky isn't that high there. he can become a star for being an action fighter aswell as a good polish fighter. but he can't move up to heavyweight because he's to small. so the best he can hope for is a great run at the twohundred pound division. even if haye leaves there are plenty of big fights there. he can fight big fights against cuninham remath bell or take on jean marc mormeck the man who lost the lineal title to haye. he can also take on smaller fights that could still provide exitment with maccarnilli, braithwait, or even jirov who has recently returned to the division. and as for bell he can always look for a third fight with mormeck a rematch with adamak or a move up to heavyweight to fight david haye( which could be a fight of the year). worse come to worse he can go back to the drawing board and take a few tune up fights then take on a braithwait or a jirov. though he may hav lost the fight he still is a fan friendly fighter any real boxing fan would love to watch. he gets of the canvas to win and not just win win by knock out. as does adamak. both are top five fighters in the division adamak one and bell three in my view. so i gets what i'm saying is i want to see them both again real soon and all of you will being watching adamak take over the division when haye leaves.
ok
Not a bad comeback for kessler. After that I want to see him in with a better opponent. It dosn't have to be miranda but i would love to see that fight. I'll take bute or taylor ahead of miranda though.
nice
i'm glad to see it. He is a great fighter and a great guy. He's like a 122 pound mexican rocky. i love it. he is now taking over as the favorite son of mexico. as he should be. This guy has earned it.
