Retired Swedish super middleweight Fredrik Alvarez has sued the Swedish healthcare function for the mistreatment of a hand injury he suffered during his fighting days. The story is that Fredrik slipped on some stairs back in 99 after beating Ed Dalton in Denmark and cut himself on a bottle. The injury was treated in Sweden but the pain in the hand remained and not until over six months later after winning over Louis Llovet was it discovered that a huge piece of glass were left in the hand. The hand was according to Alvarez permanently damaged and ruined his career. Fredrik fought on until 2002 but suffered bad losses at the hands of Andrei Shkalikov and Evans Ashira. Alvarez is suing for well over a million american dollars in damages. Fredrik has already received some compensation for the permanent injuries he suffers from, but wants a lot more.
