Much respect for Floyd. That is how it should be done looking out for one of your own. More in this profession should do so like in other sports. I know he had a special relationship with him since he gave him a shot.
Props to Floyd.
R.I.P. Genaro Hernandez
I ont really think thats issue.
Its the relative power that matters. I think Mosley has the ability to hurt Trinidad more than Trinidad has the ability to hurt Mosley.
I cant help but look back to the Anthony Stephans fight. Trinidad get dropped hard with a right hand in that fight and had a tough night...
but still, Trinidad almost always got off the deck early to win.
difficult fight to think about. I might actually go for Trinidad by close decision.
Agree with this^^^^^^^^
I agree wit dis but a lot of those "sadistic" people are going to mma rather than boxing.
For me, boxing, strikes a nice balance between violence, athleticism, strategy and technique and competitiveness. I hate mma because of the excessive violence and lack of regard for your opponent. It is encourage in mma to hit your opponent when he's down and out, and defenseless, really....
Boxingscene quote of the week. I must agree. Lmao
Don't listen to this guy; NSB is like prison, you gotta crew up or you're liable to get a dick in your ass at shower time. Or, even worse, a negative reputation comment in your User CP.
Who r u with
My list is short
Mikey Garcia
Edwin Rodriguez
Teon Kennedy
Mike Jones
Danny Garcia
Those are the guys who I think highly of.
Where can I see Mikey Garcia. Any of him on the internet. Nice list by the way
you can't force people to 'like' boxing....
boxing as with any other sport, will automatically reach out to its own fans when they see it
you dont find boxing, boxing finds you
you dont get boxing, boxing gets you
You are right just frustrating at times not being able to discuss it with people who are close to you.
I hate talking boxing with people that dont know sht, because like average americans they think they know all,Pacquiao will destroy Mayweather i have seen both of them fight twice type of sht.
I hear that alot also. Thank Sportcenter for that. No one ever says why such fighter will win just that he will.
do you guys see canelo becoming a ppv attraction in the us? Out of all the fighters people have listed i see ortiz becoming a huge star he speaks spanish fluently and is well spoken in english. He also has a fan friendly style
Excellent point about Ortiz my son and a few friends no of him, and they dont watch boxing.
Yeah, I know Schaap dose a great deal of narrating and alot of times I dont mind but this time it annoyed me so much for some reason. It felt like he wrote it......lol (seriously though, I woulndnt be shocked if he did)
With the last part of what you were talking about, I totally agree. You have to throw all of that in but I felt like most of the bashing was him as a boxer and they were calling him a clown outside the ring.
I just felt it was uncalled for at that time. They made it seem like he just sucked even as a fighter. Again, some think he's overrated but it just seemed totally disrespectful on this day
The segment was pretty brutal I was thinking that also. I thought if you are going to rip him like they did tell the whole story there was no mention of Robin Givens or how Don King used a naive young Tyson up. Idk it was pretty harsh. You would think Atlas would have some mention in it aswell.
This.
Everybody in Germany knows who the Klitschkos are. They're selling out arenas that can fill 50k people. And almost everybody knows Abraham as well. He is also selling out places. F*ck, even Sturm is selling good whithout fighting anyone decent.
Everybody in the UK knows who Haye and Khan are. They're selling out venues that can hold 20k as well.
Everybody in Mexico knows who JMM and Alvarez are and they sell out venues in Mexico as well.
Alot of people in Canada kow who Bute and Pascal are and they're filling venues as well.
The problem lies in America.
I see it is popular globally but why not here in the U.S.
Im black and new but it isnt because Floyd is back. Just like you ask the question I was wondering myself I have no friends interested in boxing atleast not hardcore only if it pay per view. I like to know also.
Canelo.
Honestly, if he keeps winning and starts beating well known guys. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts getting talked about like the second comming of JCC.
Yahoo sports already has him as one of the top 5 best active mexican boxers. And at age 20, the dude will be a legend by the time he is done.
He has been making some noise lately. His style is appealing and flashy. I could see him being big.
To some they see violence,i see beauty i see craft dedication hard work and biggest of all heart.
Simple and sweet. I could not have said better myself.
I can see ortiz and canelo becoming ppv superstars. Ward imo ends up like hopkins-everyone knows he's a legend but wouldn't necessarily go out of their way to see him fight.
Why not Ward is it because of his style of boxing.
I love how people think crisp accurate punches won't deter someone. Those punches will act as a deterrent when you are missing. It is easier to deal with punches when you are landing 3 and 4 punches in return, essentially it is a beneficial trade. When you're getting pot shotted and countered it is demoralising.
I agree with this. They are accurate and have sting to them. Mosley could not walk through them. I do believe he hits harder than Marg. Marg biggest thing is the relentless pressure and his volume punching.
This is his last fight on HBO June 4th 2011, just the highlights
Thankx. Good looking prospect he has a nasty straight right. I want to see more of him but I like what I see in the clip.
He has to be in most top 75 but he just made history also. I would have to sit down and breakdown his career and my list. But I definitedly see him in my top 50 but im speaking bias now as I am a Bhop fanatic
I would want him to fight the winner of Khan/Judah. Which most likely be Khan, mainly to see if Khan would trash talk and cause Khan has a nice straight right.
Im glad she into boxing, good to see female boxing fans. She clearly on some bias type stuff. She need more information on what she speaking about. She sound like a really big Pac fan.
Things get really interesting then. Boxing gets more exposure if that happens. It may be good for boxing. If Pac loses to Marquez then they say he has no business trying Floyd. Same can be said about Mayweather if loses to Ortiz a good southpaw then he doesnt definitely doesnt beat a great southpaw like Manny.
Idk I think it would open up debates about who is the best welterweight. Martinez would be looking like a King at p4p #1. Ortiz looks like a beast.
Everyone status immediately go up from 140-154 I would think. It would be interesting to see the new bandwagons who do people get on board with if that happens.
He beat Bhop!!!
He had to be good he beat good and great fighters. If it wasnt for his stamina issues would have clearly beat Pavlik the first fight. Great jab when it was going and good skill set. Footwork wasnt that good but he had potential to be great. Some boxers never be the same after they lose. Before he lost he pretty good. Was a good draw for american and was working on being a big draw.
Most likely the fear of ridiculing.
Most people doesn't really fear losing, but they fear losing the status in the eyes of others.
Or fear the possibility of being embarrased in front of other people.
Good point!!!
he born to fight,
after so many years in the gym boxing to him is just natural is a mental thing
Even with that how can he ignore the crowd cursing and rooting against him but outside the ring it seems to bother him alot.
lol, I completely forgot about them. Bradley & Alexander most definitely.
Ortiz is showing promise at 147. I think he is like 155 natural weight, so 140 was hard for his body to carry. But 147 he looks good.
Agree with this ^^^^
