wow, look at the poll results...there's actually something that the majority of us agree on. Tito throws his left with BAD INTENTIONS......like he's swinging a sledgehammer at you.
Lennox Lewis or Samuel Peter? Simple vote.Every time I think of Samuel Peter I cant help but to think of the destruction of Jeremy Williams...its a miracle that Williams didnt get brain damage from the knockout blow that Peter landed. Peter without a doubt. :boxing:
I just can't understand how people can say Peter, when Peter hasn't knocked any decent fighters out, Lewis has. it's a bit like comparing chins and saying the guy who has not faced a big puncher has a better chin than the guy who has, he may well, but there is absolutely no proof. It doesnt matter if the guy Peter is knocking out is decent or not...what matters is that the guy can hit! He packs a wallop in his punch that could knock a rhino out. Look at the Williams fight and tell me that punch wasnt hard. :boxing:
Read it again.I know.....why dont one of us volunteer to challenge Peter and Lewis to take a swing at them and report back to us? Do they have internet connections in hospitals? LOL.
:boxing:
Im not buying the weight issue from Gamache.....the fact of the matter is that Gamache got clocked with a devastating combo of punches due to a lack of defense- no dirty fighting, no illegal blows- just lack of skill on his part and LOTS of power on Gatti's part. Think about it...Nikolay Valuev outweighs his opponents by 75-100 lbs every fight, if weight was THE issue, then Valuev would never find an opponent to fight at a whopping 324 pounds! (Example: Valuev 324lbs vs John Ruiz 237lbs) So I dont buy weight...Im sayin its skill. I must admit tho, it was the most brutal knockout that Ive seen...Gamaches brain mustve rattled for a long time after taking those power punches. :boxing:
Bodypunching
I was wondering also. How many fighters do u know made guys quit on there stool because of the body attack?(Mayweather 2) How many guys u know made u piss two pints of blood due to the body attack?(Taylor 1)
Thats the brutal souvenier that you give your opponent- make him piss blood for a couple of days after the fight to remind him of the punishment he took in the ring. I have to agree with you all about the best body punchers...they mustve taken an anatomy class because they know exactly where the liver is located...and once you see your opponent react to the punch then its all over...keep banging him with that left until he drops. :boxing: To those that have ever been hit in the "sweet spot" its a pain that you remember your whole life. It hurts so bad and lasts so long, Id rather get hit in the head any day compared to a liver punch. Anyone else ever get hit in the "sweet spot" before? Tell us how it felt.
JC CHAVEZ
MICKEY WARD
ALEXIS ARGUELLO
You know if a boxer comes out he must come out in style the best three style i ever seen is:
1. PBF vs Ndou fight with fur trunks
2. Ndou vs PBF fight with converse thing
3. Hatton blue trunks
4. Nassem lepoard trunks.
5. Roy Jones Gold trunks
6. Pac no fear trunk
Any guys have idea of what style they like put it here.
I think my style would go with gold Gucci trunk desgin and fur on the biege top as well asa it gold gloves and on the opening of the glove there is fur too. That would be cool :boxing:Anyone here remember Jorge "Maromero" Paez? Need I say more, lol. If you do remember Paez, tell us about the craziest trunks you ever saw him fight in.
Do you think this man (Yusaf Mack) can beat Kessler.I say hell no,he has only fought nobody`s.Kessler will kill him.Anyone who now this fighter,i have never hear about him
http://boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=059834Kessler beat Lucas into retirement and was impressive with that win......I dont think that Mack has a chance unless he knocks Kessler out. :boxing:
I will tell you this though, as a fighter myself, the longer Im in the ring..the more chance that I have of getting cut or knocked out myself, so taking a guy out by knockout eliminates the odds of me getting stopped and losing the fight. Just my perspective.
haha thats the funniest part. it was a one sided ass kicking. larios does not deserve this fight, but i guess he should be a good warmup for erikSpeaking of warmups....they throw game dogs in with a champion pitbull to give him a taste of blood and some practice for the real fight.
I think we all would just like to see clear cut winners whether they are by KO or DEC.
Realistically, it is hard to NOT "want" to see a fight end by some sort of stoppage.
I personally don't like seeing the knockouts where guys are having sesuires (spelling?), eyes rolling back, head's bouncing off the mat, and Codrington type of stuff.
I just appreciate a clear winner. While I agree that fighters shouldnt suffer damage such as seizures or worse as a result of a knockout, there is something to the way a fight is won....why else do we count the amount of knockouts a fighter has won fights by? I prefer to see a fighter figure out how to break a guys defense and end the fight.
I saw a few of that, some authored by Mike McCallum come to mind rather quickly. He was called "The Body Snatcher".yup, i remember him....Im tellin you, taking a hook to the liver hurts so bad and the pain lingers so long...id rather take a head shot anyday. :boxing:
Larios doesnt stand a chance....Pac is gonna make a statement by slowly and methodically beating Larios to a pulp carrying him into the later rounds, then he's gonna knock Larios out. I think Pac has a vengeance against Mexican fighters
punching k.o.'d
i think he thinks hes still boxing
those may be his attempts to throw punches
thats how out of it he isyep, thats exactly what he's doing....even though he's knocked out, his brain keeps telling him to instinctively keep punching. His brain mustve been rattled pretty hard with that punch.
I think a lot of people here have never seen Larios fight. Clearly by the statements that he's just a sacrificial fighter here. The guy has really nice boxing skills and is tall and lanky. He's very similar to Erik Morales in that he can box well and keep throwing his jab to offset combinations. Now Morales didn't play it safe early, decided to trade with Manny in the 2nd and got hurt. He goes into boxing mode again for the next 3 rounds and wins them. Unfortunately the damage had already been done from the 2nd round and slowly building up in the 3 roudns Manny lost. Thus by the 6th, he was done. Now Larios I highly doubt will do anything stupid like that and strictly try to outbox Manny. He does have a chance, especially if Manny doesn't come in top form like he did vs Fahsan tuneup fight also in the Ph. I'd say, if theres anything to say bad about this fight would be Larios going up to 130lbs. Aside from that, don't count him out, don't say he's just a sacrificial lamb, cause I doubt anyone has seen him fight that's saying that.Well, I suppose there are possibilities, but I have seen Larios fight and I still maintain my stance that Larios is gonna take a beating....Pac is just too out classed for him. And remember, Pacs gonna take him apart in his own backyard- the dynamics of this fight are too much for Larios.
i prefer to see knockouts but if all fights end up like ward-gatti then decisions are good for me, lol...
the difference really are the judges... ko's don't need judges opinions... decisions do... and you can't rely on decision that much :D I cant disagree with that! those ward-gatti fights were brawls....gave a true meaning to phone booth warfare.(if anyone remembers what a phone booth is, lol)
if I have a choice I like fights to end in knockouts, does not matter if its a one punch haymaker or beatdown ...Same here, as long as there's no permanent damage to the fighter, its the ultimate in ending the fight. No mistake about the winner in that case.
While I agree that fighters shouldnt suffer damage such as seizures or worse as a result of a knockout, there is something to the way a fight is won....why else do we count the amount of knockouts a fighter has won fights by? I prefer to see a fighter figure out how to break a guys defense and end the fight.Additionally, a knockout isnt always by way of a head shot....body shots knock guys out also. Ever see a fighter get hit with a left hook to the liver? Painful...crippling and paralyzing, almost always keeps a guy down and out.
Come on man, who wants a fight to go to the decision. No one.
Its all about the tko.when fighters battle evenly across the rounds of the fight to the distance, the decision of the fight is a good identifier of the winner, however when a fight goes the distance with one fighter taking a beating, its a no brainer who the winner is.....but the knockout, no question who won that fight!!! Knockout any day for me. Thanks for the posts everyone! :boxing:
Quick knockouts are fun to watch and i like them as much as the next guy,I mean who can forget Tyson pasting Spinks or Foreman vs Frasier,
but i love watching thinking fighters, guys who dont land any punches by accident, where every punch is deliberate and calculated, intelligent fighters who pick their opponents apart, methodicaly breaking them down and then putting them away, take hopkins vs tito for one exampleI can dig on that.....obviously when a fight goes the distance, the more punches are landed and the more damage is inflicted- not too hard to see who the winner is that way. :boxing:
its gonna be a beating....Pac's gonna keep the plastic surgeon's in business. Gotta love the Pacman...strong, fast, durable and brutal...cant wait to see what he can do in his own backyard in front of his people.
I love a good KO but hate when its in like the first 3 rounds, i'm sure you'll all agreeI definitely agree with you on this....I was extremely dissapointed the other night when Antonio Margarito knocked out Manuel Gomez in just 73 seconds of the first round....I just got one sip of my beer and it was over! Dont get me wrong, it was a nice knockout, but too quick....gotta see some give and take for at least a few rounds, ultimately a six round KO is perfect. Anyone else agree? :boxing:
One right cross after another kept slamming against the side of his face. He had no defense for it. Instead of stepping back and establishing a jab Fernando Vargas allowed his ego to get the better of him yet again. He trudged forward, adopting the role of the tough guy, and played right into Shane Mosley’s hands. That inability to control his emotions, that ego that allowed him to beat lesser opponents cost him, once again, against an elite fighter. Fernando Vargas once again proved his grit and at the same time showed why he will never be remembered as a great fighter. He thinks with his heart and walks into the ring so cocksure that his mind turns to narcissistic mush. details]Looking at photos of Vargas, it brings a whole new meaning to "protect yourself at all times.." Eye injuries are common in boxing be it a cut or swelling mainly because its a main target of a hook to the head. As a boxer, when you see your opponents eye get marked, you target it--its as simple as that..its part of the plan to inflict as much damage to the other guy as much as you can before he does the same to you. Do you think that Mosley's corner was tellin him to stay away from Vargas' eye? Nope, they were tellin him to keep punching at it. If it were me, Id've started punching the other eye.
I will admit though it was one of the worst eye injuries that Ive seen next to Rahman...Im surprised and relieved that it didnt bust wide open.
