The Mexican media reported on Wednesday that Manny Pacquiao will clash with Oscar Larios sometime in May this year in Manila, Philippines. When Fightnews contacted Pacquiao over the weekend, the Filipino southpaw revealed that it looks like Larios will be coming over to Manila to test him in a brawl. Pacquiao is priming up for a third fight with Erik Morales in September in Las Vegas following his sensational 10th round kayo of the Mexican grand champion over two weeks ago.

I think a lot of people here have never seen Larios fight. Clearly by the statements that he's just a sacrificial fighter here. The guy has really nice boxing skills and is tall and lanky. He's very similar to Erik Morales in that he can box well and keep throwing his jab to offset combinations. Now Morales didn't play it safe early, decided to trade with Manny in the 2nd and got hurt. He goes into boxing mode again for the next 3 rounds and wins them. Unfortunately the damage had already been done from the 2nd round and slowly building up in the 3 roudns Manny lost. Thus by the 6th, he was done. Now Larios I highly doubt will do anything stupid like that and strictly try to outbox Manny. He does have a chance, especially if Manny doesn't come in top form like he did vs Fahsan tuneup fight also in the Ph. I'd say, if theres anything to say bad about this fight would be Larios going up to 130lbs. Aside from that, don't count him out, don't say he's just a sacrificial lamb, cause I doubt anyone has seen him fight that's saying that.
ohhhh man.... i think you're crazy if you'd think that larios has an edge clashing with THE PAC, i think larios may accept the fact that PACMAN is not just a regular fighter that he think he can beat, but for any reason he must prepare himself for a greatest challenge of his career.....
Not likely, PAC has superior footwork, without a doubt, faster hands, more powerful punches, the best stamina in the game.
Larios' chance is to stay in the outside and try to use his height. Although it would really open him up to the straight left, which is a killer.
pac prefers fighter slightly taller than him.
Hold on a second. I never said he'd win. Shit, I'm a Pacfan! I'm just saying, he's not as easy as everyone states. And I hate good fighters not getting credit like so many of you people do that are Pacfans. I'm not an ignorant Pacfan and proud of it. You see things a lot clearer that way. Also, what you mean you've seen every Larios fight since the 2nd Vasquez fight? It was his last fight... :cool:No that was his third fight with vasquez, Larios koed Vasquez in the 11th in the second fight.
Lets throw all the chips in then. I've seen every Larios fight since the second Vasquez fight and am positive Larios hasn't a shot in the world, how about it? Total liquidation bet, winner takes all?

And remember, Pacs gonna take him apart in his own backyard- the dynamics of this fight are too much for Larios.

well, maybe Larios will offer a serious fight to Manny

its gonna be a beating....Pac's gonna keep the plastic surgeon's in business. Gotta love the Pacman...strong, fast, durable and brutal...cant wait to see what he can do in his own backyard in front of his people.
Oscar should box and we know he has the ability to let those leather fly ...
he is a BIG GUY figthing at 122 keeping him drained, maybe 130 is his ideal figthing weight...
with that said, how many of you think Larios can do a Raheem on PAC??
no fuccing way, pac is too much for larios and plus their fighting in the philippines
Larios chance is try to outbox Manny. If he trades, then there's no way he's gonna make it past 4 rounds.

haha thats the funniest part. it was a one sided ass kicking. larios does not deserve this fight, but i guess he should be a good warmup for erikSpeaking of warmups....they throw game dogs in with a champion pitbull to give him a taste of blood and some practice for the real fight.
Larios doesnt stand a chance....Pac is gonna make a statement by slowly and methodically beating Larios to a pulp carrying him into the later rounds, then he's gonna knock Larios out. I think Pac has a vengeance against Mexican fighters
No it wasn't, the fight was stopped because of a cut, not because Vasquez kicked his ass... Larios is insanely underrated, i swear, some people on here really need to open their eyes.. Granted i don't think Larios could beat Pacquiao at this point, but wow, give the guy some credit for once.
He deserves credit, but he was caught cold against Vasquez in their first fight and he was beaten up until the stoppage in their last bout as well. Dropped and cut by a punch en route to a stoppage indicates being beat up to me.
Imagine this, Larios was defeated by Israel Vasquez not once but twice.Vasquez is Pacmans chief sparring mate in the Wild Card gym of Freddie Roach.Everytime they spar, PAC almost always holds back his power punches to avoid hurting Vasquez. Not only that, but PAC gives Israel about 10 free shots to his head and body just to test PAC's ability to take punches.
Do you see the point here?Yes its a couragous thing for Larios to do, but the harsh truth is, its a career ending fight. For his own sake, Oscar shouldnt do this.He should move to 126 and try to challenge for a title there. If Larios can go do down with a punch from a 122 pounder, imagine what damage PAC can do.
One clever idea that larios should do : PLAY DEAD ! as simple as that. he need not to suffer further damage once Pac unloads those combos :boxing: Play dead, crowd erupts and get ya check!
I mean Vasquez was like interviewed by media (I think it was Dyan castillejo) after one sparring with Manny and he was huffing and puffing like he has cancer or sumthin :D

thats what i was going to say. that fight was stopped on a cut and it was just starting to get warmed up.
that and he's a good fighter, better than some people on the forum give him credit for. he's like a small Margarito with his long arms and solid body attack.
he's a live dog, but the weight is definately a issue. i think a catch weight would be fair.
