ice bag relieves pain. it hardens the swelling though
Since when?
I had one of my boys in the E.R. last weekend was told to apply ice to reduce the swelling.
cot damn that is a big swelling. can't wait to see the rebroadcast but it looks like it was definitely a correct stoppage.
did these guys show flashes of their old selves last night?
The sickest part of it I think was when the doctor tried opening it himself and he couldn't even get his fingers in there to open it. Then Vargas says, yeah, I can see. Hahaha. Of course they knew he was bullshitting, though since the fight was quite close, they had to let it go on until Vargas would take serious punishment on that left side.
His eye looks like something out of some alien movie. I can't believe Vargas said he could still see.
more like cartoon :D

it's more of the contributory negligence of varga's corner. they should not have applied ice on that swelling
yeah those repeated shots that mosley targeted to that eye didnt do it.
I heard it was bad, but God damn that thing is huge!
Is that just blood trapped under there?
If so, do u think they should have let some of the pressure outta that thing?
Well, Vargas says it was a headbutt that started it. Regardless whether it did or not, Mosely then began to target it, nonstop. This only made it worse of course. Then around the 7th or 8th round the doctor went to go and check it on it in the corner. He himself couldn't even get it open, muchless Vargas could not see or even wince with it. It was completely locked shut and the doctor told that Ratner guy, to see how he does in the round, if he get's hit over and over on that side, to stop the fight. So I guess Ratner then sent that message to Cortez, who then was solely focused on watching the right eye and picking a spot to stop it. This came in the 10th. Meanwhile, Vargas although he did take afew cleans shots on the right side since he couldn't see, he did not looked bothered at all. He was composed throughout and stook to the same gameplan of just charging forward and pushing Mosely back. Unfortunately he should have thrown more because all this was leading to, was walking into Mosely's shots at times. Vargas shouldn't have been so composed by the 8th, 9th rounds, when the doctor's were taking serious looks at it. He should have let it all out and try KOing Mosely. Question is, does this constitute as a knockout win for Mosely to earn that 100,000? :D

this is HUGE swelling!!! so mosley still has power :D
it's more of the contributory negligence of varga's corner. they should not have applied ice on that swelling
Vargas said that his eye started swelling because of a headbutt, but I don't buy that.Mosley was nailing Vargas with rights in the 2nd,and he was doing little to minimize the damage.
i think it was the cutman's fault. i saw him applied ice on that swelling.
That was a different Vargas in there. The aggressiveness was gone after 3 rounds and he didn't have any defense against Mosley's right hooks, even during the first few rounds. He got nailed with too many shots on the temple and chin.
I guess he has to find a better trainer.
