Some of you guys are seriously tripping when tallying wins and losses in this rivalry !!! I mean your blood lines are your bloodlines period ! We might as well toss out Mexico vs Puerto Rico on Dec 3rd as well ! Lets see lets go with California Vs Puerto Rico !!! :smashfrea
you asked what do you have to do with us? We smash all comers, 100% victories. You name any hispanic boxing champion and I bet he got his ass whipped by a African American!
Well lets try Carlos Monzon !
I agree; I like the Mex/P.R., rivalry but all in good fun. Some people (on both sides) take it too far.
Its a great rivalry for sure and yes some do take it to far with mindless insults ! I choose to enjoy it without the mud slinging. Great fighters come and go on each side. Why the pissing contest ? Just sit back root and enjoy !!!
Hey dog that wasnt for you. It was for that racist dude. I love boxing debates to death. I also fight fire with fire, and I'm still undefeated. Lets continue with our debate.
Great fighters come in all flavors lets leave it at that !!!
One word Marvin Hagler! These guys you all are naming didnt fight any of the American world champion big names in thier weight class. We all know why to. I know you agree that if Carlos Manzon fought Hagler he would have been KTFO!!

My man, stay on course your drifting away from your statement. Go back check what you stated then get back to me and we can continue ! :pat:
All I've heard is that Joe Cortez is in the running for it..I hope not tho!..
I prefer Kenny Bayless, Arthur Mercante and of course Smoger..
Whats wrong with Joe ? I admit he isn't as sharp as he use to be but has all the experience needed. My choice would be Mercante jr. he usually stays away and lets them fight.
I agree...BUT Roach should keep his mouth shut cause the refs (well most of them) know how to do their job. We don't need the refs babysitting Cotto's body shots....that what Roach is wanting them to do.
Yeah I would like to see Rouch keep his mouth shut but we know thats impossible. I'm hoping we get a ref that lets these guys fight and only gets involved when needed!!! Does anybody have an inside track on who the possible ref will be?
That, sir, would be highly unlikely.

Stick to counting ppv your racist humor isn't funny or apperciated here!!!
Joe is alright..but than people will call him biased cuz he's Puerto Rican...and he's not on the level of Bayless, Mercante, or Smoger at the moment IMO..
he's got the experience..but his decision makin is ass sometimes in some fights..
btw..I also prefer Mercante..he's always lookin out for both fighters and keeps it really fair..
Your right. Pac does'nt need any pre or post fight excuses. He already has one with not being accustomed to the welterweight div. Your also right as far as Joe not being on the other refs level but he once was. As long as we get a ref who is not influenced by what others say and does'nt get caught up in the moment and think the fight is about himself I'll be happy.
...He throws for a body shot and goes low??..should he still get DQ'd?..
..or..
Since Roach claims that Cotto gets hurt to the body easier..what if Pacquiao goes low?..Does he get DQ'd or is this gonna be a specific way to treat Cotto only?..we know Pac is the Cash Cow here..he can request anything he wants..
so how will this new Pacman-low blow rule work?..
Rouch, knows Cotto will be going to the body often to take Pac's legs away from him. Rouch is attempting to make Cotto think twice about going to the body. If a body punch does go south from Cotto it should be treated as it is in all fights 2 warnings and 1 point deduction and vice versa. Rouch's comments should not influence Cotto who needs to work over Pac's body, Plain and simple.
mosley beat cotto without nazim already.... look at the link => http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=79
yes, cotto has admirable qualities
nope... mosley got robbed
of corse not, he got robbed in MSG
He really did get robbed the punch stats tells it all... check the link => http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6287136&postcount=79
dude, just look at the link...
I am. I'm just having fun now.
good, cotto should stop ducking the rematch. mosley beat him once and can do it again.
I've been saying that forever.
O.K. I checked your link nothings changed! Cotto has never ducked any fight. Rematches included! This brain child of Arum's { Pac/Cotto} has been in the making for quite some time. Enjoy the fight we'll talk rematch after Cotto takes care of buisness. I know theres a weight disparity but its still intriguing!!!
cotto never fights rematches, especially rematches that are warranted, like the mosley rematch!
cotto/pac will be a good fight while it lasts... cotto better end the fight in 6, or he will gas and get beat up.
Cotto never fights rematches because Arum had him chasing pots of gold over the rainbow. Well Pac is one pot. Mayweather wont risk it so all that is left are rematches!
conspiracy??? the stats in the link speak for themselves
Punch stats are deceiving as well as inaccurate. You know this. Why do you continue down this road that leads to nowhere. You need to ask yourself why is Maywether ducking Mosley and continue to scream and holler about that. This road appears to be more fruitfull for all.
i dunno why cotto doesn't fight rematches, but he doesn't... hence duckage.
We both know he's a w.w. After Pac who is he going to fight hence REMATCHES and profitable ones they be!!!
I've heard Mayweather mention Pacquiao rarely but nothing about...What if Cotto got past Pacquiao? It ain't only the people on NSB, HBO also...Kellerman screaming "Pacquiao, I thought that would get your attention". The whole HBO crew talking Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, everywhere Mayweather went, Pacquiao's name got thrown in Mayweather's face. To top it all off, Bob Arum is/ has talked about Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. So what if Cotto won? :ugh:
I know I'm not alone here, I haven't heard one thing about Mayweather and Cotto facing off. Not from Espn, HBO...name it! I've been saying (Including Mayweather fans) that, "Mayweather will face the winner of Cotto vs. Pacquiao". How do we know?
We will never know for sure what Mayweather intentions truly are except wanting the lions share of any fight purse. Does he deserve it? Well some say yes and some say no! The risk of loosing 1 fight will put a chill on his negotiating leverage which he has fought for harder than he has in any boxing match. Most of us want him to fight all challengers because of that 0 on his record. Unfortunately for us we will have to wait and see. I personaly would love to see a Cotto/Mayweather fight. A fight of this magnitude can only define ones character as well as fortitude. As boxing fans we are rarely treated to these type of fights because of GREED!!!
Yes or No? I'm only asking...also explain why.
Me, I think he didn't do shit at L.W and his overall resume isn't all that.
Poll to come.
Shane is a hof as well an atg in my book. 3 div champ would seal it in most boxing minds. His 2 wins over Oscar in his prime seals it for me. His steroid experiment should'nt hamper his chances and his last fight only catapults him as an ATG!
mosley didn't lose he got robbed
are you a cotto stan? check the link and tell me what you think.
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6287136&postcount=79
Yes I must say i am a Cotto fan but more importantly a boxing fan. Its refreshing to see to a champion who goes in and gives his best effort fight in and fight out and makes no excuses when he looses does'nt publicly complain about purses who does'nt quit when he has an ax wound over his eye but could have and retained his belt easily. Who does'nt roll around on the floor as though he'd been shot with a shot gun when hit below the belt. Who does'nt render any excuses for anything. As far as Mosley I have always rooted for him except the Cotto fight which he did loose. No shame in that. The shame is you acting as though he got robbed in MSG. I don't need to see any links you provide. I've watched the fight 5 times on my tivo. The result in my mind will never change. He lost by 2 points. Get over it already. There will be a rematch so you can root again to no avail!!! Contrary to some opinions Cotto is far from damaged!!!
defeating ignorance, arrogance, and stupidity one post at a time!!!
btw... check the link BWAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHH!
http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/vi...e_mosley_final
You sir have gone off the deep end one too many times !!! You are truly delusional. May I suggest therapy or just stop engaging in conversation with Cotto fans. Its more than apparent your stirring a pot that has a huge leak in it!!!
they are more objective than any cotto stan.
cause its fun to make cotto stans cry
did, am, and will.
stamping out ignorance, arrogance and stupidity is always fruitful
see the link for details => http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6287136&postcount=79

I was hoping that Trinidad (my favorite fighter of all time) would make my top 50. But, I really coldn't put him ahead of any of this guys
J, great list. I see Tito didn't make your list but what about Carlos Ortiz?
Thank you. And, believe me I really wanted to put Tito in my list. I just couldn't find a spot for him.
Carlos Ortiz. I was thinking about him. But, IMO Tito is the greatest Puerto Rican fighter of all time. So if I couldn't find a spot for Tito than how could I find a spot for Ortiz? I mean is hard bro. When you do a list like this. You feel like you starting of good. But, then you realize you getting close to #50 and yet you still have all this fighters but you running out room. A lot fighters would get left out.
But, tito, ortiz, even Wilfredo Gomez. Could be on a top 50 list. But, I just ran out of room in mine.
BTW are you puerto rican if so. In your opinion who is the greatest fighter out of Puerto Rico. I say Tito. But, my uncle keeps telling me about Gomez, and Grandpa use to say Ortiz. But, we not Puerto Rican. So I want to get a true puerto rican opinion I think they got the best insight in this matter
Hey J, I can't blame you for omiting some fighters with a great list you've come up with! Yes I am Puerto Rican. With that said I would have to pick Wilfredo Gomez as Puerto Rico's greatest only because I've seen most of his fights as opposed to Carlos Ortiz who I've only read about and discussed about usualy with the older generation. We must not forget Carlos because championship opportunities were'nt always provided to all and if so not legitimately. He made the best of his opportunitties and was an ATG. As far as Tito there's no P Rican fighter past or present who can surpass his popularity. His down to earth persona catapults him in front of all mentioned but give me a well conditioned Gomez in any era. Once again great post!!!
watever... as long as mosley gets his rematch outside of MSG.
O.K. you win outside of MSG but Mosely won't even sniff the 12th round next time around. Don't need anymore conspiracy threads!!!
:boxing:
Who else remembers seeing Muhammad Ali on Different Strokes?
Yeah brother, I had to blow dust off of that memory but I member you member ? Now its time to take out my wooden teeth before I fall asleep !!!
ali lost the 1st fight.
he was fighting with a broken jaw.
Hey guy, my bad. I was thinking Yankee Stadium and that was 3 not 1. I guess I need to call it a night. NEVER MIND HA HA !!!
Yeah, especially in the second half of his career when he wasn't training as much. And he always had some trouble against Norton.
Still the GHOAT.
Yeah, I would have to agree with you about 2nd half of his career with the exception of THE THRILLER IN MANILA and big George. When Leon beat him it was definitely time to go bye bye!
