it is him, i saw the video is fcked up. why does he have something white in his mouth? is like a piece of paper or something. and how could thos jeans hold him up? i mean they would probably slip or something. what do you think?
wasnt he wearing sweats instead of jeans, they might of helped him to hang
I didn't watch the video, but one article said a picture of himself and his kids was stuffed inside his mouth. So maybe that's what.
Hatton never came close to dropping Floyd, legitimately. Floyd stumbled over Ricky's foot. Pay attention to Hatton's right foot and Floyd's left foot at 1:23 of the HBO clock...

Ricky even stepped on Floyd's foot in the opening sequence of the GIF when he landed a clubbing right hand.
The answer is obviously Mosley, who had Mayweather in the most trouble he's ever been in.
At 154, Kermit seemingly doesn't pack as much pop. Had this fight been at 147, where Cintron has legitimate power, not to mention smaller gloves, I'd say he would be an extremely live dog. Williams defense is his own offense, and his take one to land two mentality could really do him in agaisnt a genuine puncher. But since the fight is at 154, I think Williams may be safe for this bout.

Tickets will range in price from $150 to $400, Trost said, and will go on sale Friday, April 16. There will be 7,000 seats set up around the ring. The Yankees have yet to decide how much of the rest of the stadium they will open up, but they definitely will sell seats down the first-base line and in right field. "We can confidently expect to have at least 30,000 people," promoter Bob Arum said.

Arreola looks noticeably slimmer to me in those pics than he has in quite some time. I don't see what the big fuss is. Though I could completely understand the backlash he got for how he looked, physically, in his previous fights. Right here it seems like he's actually been working on getting the weight down.
Adamek was fighting at 175 when he was fully mature, from his mid-20s to his early 30s.
Arreola has not fought below below 230 since the age of 20 or so.
No doubt about it, Adamek is the naturally smaller man. And Arreola's boxing ability is underestimated by many people: he's not a brawler, he's a technically-skilled boxer-puncher with a lot of amateur experience.
Arreola is the worst possible heavyweight opponent for Adamek, except for the Klitschkos.
He came in at 229 for the Wills fight when he fought on the undercard of Mayweather-Baldomir.

In the US, the fight is being tape-delayed. Showtime won't air it until 9 PM EST, but the fight will be taking place a few hours earlier. I'm pretty sure it's live in Denmark and the UK, though...
cant wait for this card. Is oquendo-sonsona the 1st fight of the night?? I dont wanna miss that one.
It's not on Showtime, but Top Rank is streaming the untelevised portion of the undercard right now on www.toprank.com.
PPV is always gonna be around because HBO, Showtime, ESPN2, and FSN etc., combined aren't capable of carrying the entire sport. With a limited number of television dates, most promoters have no choice other than to put fights on PPV to keep their stable of fighters active.
Marquez-Diaz II is on PPV likely due to HBO's "budget issues." According to Dan Rafael, they will only have two commenators that night and won't replace Lennox Lewis until next year.
Chavez Jr.-Duddy is a PPV because there's a market for it, and likely more profitable for Top Rank going that route since according to Todd Duboef Jr's PPVs bring in a decent profit.
Should either fight really be on PPV? Probably not. But it's not like the promoters have the opportunity to put the fights on network tv or some other alternative that makes sense for all around.
The man can be very heavy handed, if he feels like it.
In his last fight against Santos, he knocked Santos down twice and Santos has a great chin.
I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but Foreman might be able to knock down Cotto if he gets the right punch in.
Based on what exactly? He was starched by a single shot from Kofi Jantuah and nearly taken out by a shopworn Yory Boy Campas. He was also down against Neil Sinclair and Sergiy Dzinziruk both.

This would be great.....finally a commentator I actually like.....

Wednesday, 11:40 a.m. ET -- Roy is back
Ross Greenburg of HBO just announced that Roy Jones will be taking Emanuel Steward's place in the HBO announce team on Saturday night. Steward will be working Miguel Cotto's corner.
He did hurt him, forget which round, maybe 9 or 10. Cotto was hurt, went to the ropes and the referee stepped in and ordered the corner to be wiped up, giving Cotto valuable time.
That's not true. Cotto began boxing off the backfoot and the HBO commenators assumed he was hurt because he wasn't pressing the attack as usal. This has been common place in many Cotto fights, like the Kelson Pinto fight for example, where the commentators thought he was bothered by a shot seconds before he dropped Pinto with a counter combination off the ropes. Shane was pressuring Cotto and slipped on a wet spot in the corner. He then stopped his attack and motioned the referee towards the spot You can see it all in this GIF...
http://home.comcast.net/~antwuanmax/boxing/cotto-mosley.gif
As the GIF clearly shows, it was Shane who wanted something done about the wet spot, and the referee never stepped in until Shane complained about it. This tells me Shane knew Cotto wasn't hurt, or else he wouldn't have let the slippery canvas prevent him from going in for the finish.
Roy Jones had good chemistry with Lamp and Merchant and I'm glad to hear he'll be back.
Which reminds me, when Ross Greenburg first came on, he mentioned Larry Merchant would not be working the fight, but will be doing a special segment on the history of fights at Yankee Stadium. So with Manny training Cotto, it'll likely be Lampley, Roy, and Kellerman on the call.

It's on Steve Kim's Twitter...

He also has a blog on Maxboxing on the topic (I'm assuming with more details), but you have to be a member to read it.
The showtime website has cotto fight, foreman fight, and vasquez jr fight. Only a 3 fight ppv I heard the ravens player might fight live. Anyone know the official card lineup that will be live on ppv next saturday
Cotto-Mayorga
Foreman-Wolak
Vazquez-Zappavigna
Zbikowski-Bryant
Originally, the Christy Martin fight was going to be part of the PPV, but after her injury, Top Rank replaced her with Tommy Z.
He always fought in an orthodox stance, even as an amateur long before the injury. The accident didn't occur until 2001, a few fights after he had turned pro.
Kevin Iole says Clottey will not be added to the televised portion of the PPV. Instead, Top Rank will show Tom Zbikowski's fight and possibly another, but not Clottey. This was on his Twitter earlier...

I'm guessing we'll be able to see the Clottey fight live, though, on Top Rank's web site.
