i'll start:
Edison miranda has good technical skill.
Vernon forrest deserved the decision he got against ike quartey.
Kelly pavlik is the strongest middleweight puncher ever.
joe calzaghe to be in the hall of fame lol
Ortiz doesn't have the heart and he isn't good enough to be competitive at 140, nor 147. He was beat up and forced to quit against Maidana in the 6th round, and Peterson, who is a knockout for most big names at 140, made him look terrible.
Ortiz just doesn't have what it takes to be a good fighter. It's something he has done a long time and put a lot of time into, but he's just not very good at it, he is missing too many vital qualities.
Alexis Arguello was one of the most humane boxers I have ever watched. One of the greatest fights in history was Arguello/Ray Mancini. After the fight, Arguello said he never wanted to fight him again because "I had to turn myself into a beast to beat him, and I had to fight him in a way that I don't want to fight anyone."
He lacked a killer instinct but he was such a good boxer that it was ok, he could beat you with boxing skills alone, whereas a guy like Tyson needed to act on killer instinct, be relentless, hurt you and then hurt you more until you were down.
Ortiz has no killer instinct, and he also lacks the skills necessary to finish opponents off handily.
He has no heart either, and he showed then when he threw his gloves up and walked to his corner against Maidana.
He was a good prospect coming up, but nothing more. He was exposed by Maidana to not be able to take a punch and was lacking heart to fight back when in trouble, and was again exposed by Peterson on Saturday that he can not overcome even a C rated fighter. Peterson was matched up with Ortiz because it should have been an easy fight.
It really makes no difference to me where Ortiz goes from here but if I were his adviser I would tell him to get serious, train way harder so you can be in condition to go 12 rounds, and start hurting people in the ring. If not, nobody is going to pay to watch you fight.
peterson who is a ko for most 140's lol when has lamont ever been ko'd ? both petersons have big potential but lamont is a far better fighter than people give him credit for, i suggest all those in doubt of his ability and heart to check both fighters weight prior to the fight (peterson vs ortiz) not to mention he took the fight on short notice.
i'm british but i had hopkins beating calzaghe that night..... also i don't understand why joe has got away with his slappy punching for so long, recently seen degale being warned to punch correctly.
joe fought a bunch of tomato cans up until he fought jeff lacy (another tomato can lol)
c'mon lol seriously who had amir fought before being handed a shot at kotelnik ? i want an answer to this one..... he built a record fighting school teachers and milkman before making the move to the wildcard
kell is the number 1 contender for mannys 147lbs title so he's earned the right to fight any of the champs, he said himself he'd make the 140 limit as hes only around 5'8/9 in height, its fights like this that give guys like kell a name oversea's. Goldenboy are gonna choose someone over the hill for amir its a given, ortiz vs khan makes sense but then again they are probs being built up for a big showdown lol
So your arguement is that he's #1 Contender?
Then why did you complain about Amir fighting Salita? Salita was #1 Contender.
FW just wants sell Kell brooks name, because outside his family and friends, nobody has heard of him.
Kells a domestic level fighter.
Quit embarrassing yourself
salita wasn't the number 1.... thats a lie marcus maidana was and khan chose to fight salita. My argument is that frank warren has offered a crazy amount of money to turn down so i do not see why he would turn it down and fight a dude over the hill (which you know is the plan for him anyway) zab judah was on twitter saying the fight with him and khan was a done deal.... zab judah ? c'mon he was gifted a decision against mattyse and looked horrible.
all i'm saying is the fight either at 147 or 140 would be an awesome draw over here in britain, kell stops amir all day
What, a promising fighter getting spanked? Which Brook would IMO.
If this fight ever happens, wait until Brook has a title, then it would be a great fight for British boxing.
I doubt many people outside the Brook family or Sheffield has a clue who Kell is.
its not about who knows who, kell is a #1 contender therefore deserves a shot, infact amir was never regarded as a #1 contender when he fought kotelnik lol
we will see the khan camp knock back frank warrens deal without doubt lol
Different weight classes. I very much doubt brook could go down in weight
Khan's got fights like Peterson, the winner of Bradley-Alexander, Ortiz etc Can't see him moving up for at least a year, and then it'll be for someone like Berto, and then maybe Mayweather
Kell Brook isn't world class yet. He may be in the future, but certainly not now. And  at him being Pacquiao's #1 with the WBO. Do you think Pacquiao even knows who he is?
see this is the problem in boxing today, it should not matter who knows who, if you are the number 1 contender then you should get a title shot regardless of who is the champion, amirs resume was terrible when he got a pop at the belt so why does kell have to do anything different, same with bradley he was unknown when he got a crack at the WBC belt, alos brook mentioned himself he'd make 140 so the fight is certainly doable, we will wait and see who goldenboy pick out for khan.......
Salita was the mandatory. Maidana was the interim champion.
the interim champion means your the mandatory lol salita was top 5 at 140lbs, don't know why.
Still a better win than Jennings, is it not?
no it wasn't barrera took tht fight for the money, he had been badly beaten up by a journeyman previous to fighting khan, jennings is a tough boxer to pin down, he uses the ring well.
khan vs brook is a great fight for boxing in britain
Barrera with his slippers >>>>>>>>>>> Jennings on PEDS
barrera ?? are you ****in serious dude, he has been over the hill for years lol he is a natural featherweight, infact he started his career even lighter, how can you go from tht to a title shot ?
mundines camp claimed it aswell, apparently it was down to some sort of race tactics, mundine ain't liked in central austrailia because of his colour (its something along those lines) other dude was otis griffin, i remember that one well because they cut off griffins interview the minute he started mentioning the hand wraps lol
maybe i'm wrong and danny green has discovered this "new power" but to me something seems very fishy indeed, i'm pretty sure theres a couple of interviews regarding the issues on youtube i'll try in dig them up.
i take it your austrailian, c'mon dude its a well known fact that there is racial hate in austrailia..... green is up to something, another thing is why did briggs get a title shot after 3 years out of boxing ????
yeah the whole roy jones fight was suspicious, why was danny green in his wraps and gloves 2 hours before the fight and when told the material used on the handwraps were illegal roy and his team were told "in austrailia there legal" WTF
that post has a bit of hatred in it, roy would have gave any the heavyweights at that time problems with his speed, personally i don't think lennox wouldve caught roy.
