jmm is too small.
The outcome would be similar to JMM vs Floyd. But I think Khan would stop him, probably from a bad cut too. I mean Marquez's face looked like he was in a war tonight. Had Diaz been more aggressive early, he would have cut him easy.
I honestly think the Juan Diaz from the first fight, would have beaten the shit out the Marquez from the 2nd fight. It's unfortunate that Diaz decided to try to outbox a counterpunching boxer.
Nah, he woulda just ended up walking onto a big uppercut or something again were he as wreckless as last time. He was right to attempt to adjust his gameplan but he didn't get the balance between attack and defense right.

He should fight Katsidis and see how things look after that. If he wins impressively then a Khan fight may be more justifiable and realistic. I didn't like how he gassed in the championship rounds last night, and it may have just been because of Diaz's cautious approach, but to me his punches looked lacking in crispness comparative to his prime self.
Yow! I noticed that too. Had me worried for a bit. He even gt a bit unsteady on his feet just from tiredness in the eleventh. That's very unlike Marquez who usually finishes like a madman.
He's been showing signs of aging since the second Pac fight. He looked slower, less reflexes etc etc in that fight and it has been a slow degrading since then. What's not to notice about it unless people haven't really seen him at his 126 best many years ago?
It's pretty damn obvious that he's been fighting as an old, but great, warrior for many years now but he's still better than most and still has that great mind and experience to adapt and win.
It would be nice to see him retire on a win like this or have a crack at 140, and if he loses come back, defend his LW titles once more on a big bang and then bow out gracefully as the legend he is and if he wins....What better way to go out than as the first 4 division Mexican title holder.
There's no big names at lightweight for jmm. Katsidis would be a fun fight but even at his age jmm kills him. Juan diaz shut out katsidis easily. Even though 140 is too big for him jmm needs to move up so he can get bigger names, bigger purses, and most importantly become the first mexican to win titles in 4 divisions. There's nothing big at 135 imo.

I don't know, but I don't wanna see him struggle to beat a guy like Katsidis because he's slipped so far, when in his prime he'd light him with ease.
I don't wanna see him in wars with fighters who wouldn't stand a chance with him even 3 years ago.
even now he picks katsidis apart and knocks him out late. marquez can continue to fight as long as he stays away from 140 and up and doesnt go anywhere near a pac fight.

hes not gonna struggle against the limited fighting skills of kats. im not talking shit hes got heart but he lacks boxng skill and will be picked apart just as easiily as diaz
naa. he's still got it he is 36 and nobody at lightweight is messin him up. i dont think he should fight khan though. **** that duche and make him fight somebody in his own weight class.
I agree too. I saw a lot of slippage in his game last night.
Time waits for no man, not even the great Dinamita..
:nonono:
who at lw is beating marquez even at this point of his career?
Khan will tear him apart. JMM might still have another fight left in him but going to 140 would be a mistake. Why not just fight Katsidis at 135? He looked good enough yesterday that I think he can win that fight.
Yea Agree. Katsidis vs Marquez would be like Marquez vs Diaz I
