"The contract was just verbal, nothing written yet," Klitschko said. "If I agree he could have backed out and taken Chisora, which is a great pay-per-view for him in Britain. He could give Chagaev step-aside money and then I'm going to be there with nobody to fight . Because of our history before, I would fight him July 2 and we would work on the contract, but I would fight Chisora first and make sure I fight.

It looks to me that he's admitting that he didn't sign the contract.
What's he on about work on the contract? Haye agreed to all his demands.
What do you think?
Barrett was his first fight at HW. He wasn't a great fighter but he was no mug either. Ruiz stepped aside for Valuev to defend against Haye meaning Haye had to defend against him. Like I have said, the Harrison fight was a joke and I didn't pay to watch it on PPV. Age isn't everything at HW..
LOL @ age isn't everything, only very kind of special fighters like Vitaly, Lewis, and Foreman can still do what they do in their late 30s, everyone else becomes shot. Look at Valuev, he had to undergo 3 surgeries after the Gayevid fight for both knees and shoulder, I suspect he went into the fight with those injuries and wasn't mobile at all. Ruiz said it was his last fight and so did Barrett (who broke his promise). Even Haye himself said that he doesn't want to stick it out in boxing past 31 because he is afraid of getting beat by younger and fresher boxers - LOL , at 31 he is afraid of getting beat someone fresher and younger when the closest he has come to facing someone "younger" than him was a 36 year old Valuev when he was 28.
LOL so is it coincidence that Gayevid promised to fight top 10 opponents and "clean out the division of all these bums" and every single one of his opponents since and including Barrett was 36+ at the time and at least 8 years OLDER than him? You mean to tell me he couldn't fight Arreola, Wlad, Chagaev, Povetkin, Adamek, Solis, Jhonson, Boytsov, Chambers, Dimitrenko, Peter (just to name a few)? Barrett and Fraudley and Valuev were his choices, Ruiz was not fine and even if you give him a pass on Valuev, what's the excuse for Barrett and Audley? It seems like he likes a certain age of fighters, was that way at CW as well - Thompson and Mormeck, except Thompson backfired on him.

Being over 36 at Heavyweight is not uncommon. Lewis was nearly 38 when he stopped a prime Vitali.
Valuev was champion so that doesn't count. Ruiz was mandatory I believe so again that was not Haye's fault. Harrison fight was a joke though.

If haye fights Chagaev and easily beats him you will **** on the win and call him shot, so stop trying to say Haye is scared of him. BTW Chagaev is Wlad's best win.
No prime Byrd and Ibragimov are better. But the undefeated Chagaev that fought Wlad two years ago was way better than the version that he is today but Gayevid is still scared of him. He could fight him if he wanted to, but he doesn't want to, he can set up the fight in Germany or in another country were Chagaev's Hep B will not be a problem like Wlad did. Gayevid is vaccinated aginst it so there is no risk to him personally or his family. Or I guess he could set up a fight with Boytsov, who is the #3 but I garauntee you he will dig up another 40 year old on the verge of retirement.
He'll still be the first top 10 HW under 36 that Gayevid will face, if he has enough balls to face him that is.

Didn't Gayevid and Booth claim that the WBC was the most meaningful belt and that's why they want Vitaly? Or were they lying again?
In my opinion the WBC belt is the most meaningful belt, but it does not negate the fact that Wlad is the number 1 of all the heavyweight division and with all the prestige that comes with it.
Vitali is just another belt holder.
He isn't done with Wlad he's just pissed off, that's why i don't understand why Wlad is so quick to tie himself up. Haye wants Wlad, he wants to be #1 not #2.
What happened to Gayevid saying that the WBC was the more meanigful belt and that's why they want Vitaly? Besides, didn't Gayevid say that he was done with Wlad? I guess it's time to fulfill at least part of his boasts and promises and fight at least ONE Klitschko. But I guess that's too much to ask.
I swear you all Gayevid defenders need a recap every thread, are you purposefully ignorant (don's answer that). Yes, everyone knew that according to the first contract if a deal with another fighter wasn't finalized by Jan something, Wlad would have to honor his contract with Chisora still. Gayevid knew that, the whole world knew that, Gayevid's and Sky's fault for not wanting the fight in April, when Wlad heard that he said ok, but I want to keep busy in April as well. Nothing wrong with that. Gayevid walked away again, instead of manning up and fighting in March against his mandatory and then Wlad in July. I guess the difference is that Wlad is confident of vicotry in April, Gayevid is shaking in his pumps as we speak thinking about Chagaev, thinking of ways to get out of fighting him.

If the WBA order it he will have to, don't start the ducking ****. Chagaev looked like crap in his last fight.

One, I'm not a fan of Haye. Two, I can't read your post with all this childish Gayevid crap like we're in 3rd grade. Please grow up.
Wlad is the IBO,IBF, WBO & ring champ.recognised as the number 1 of the division.
Nothing wrong with Vitali, just another champ.
Didn't Gayevid and Booth claim that the WBC was the most meaningful belt and that's why they want Vitaly? Or were they lying again?
Well now he said he's done with Vlad
So he's gonna go after Vitali, right?

Yes i know he looked crappy
But it doesnt look like Chagaev will be approved
I'm lost, RC. Are you saying he knew Wlad had to fight him beforehand? Because Wlad didn't have to fight him. So what did he know?

I said Haye wants to fight the #1 not the #2. Wlad is the much bigger fight that everyone wants to see, why would he mention Vitali when there's still a chance he can get the #1?
Well now he said he's done with Vlad
So he's gonna go after Vitali, right?
