The point is that Pacquiao has never competed in a world class level as an amateur, Floyd was a 3 time National champion, first time at the age of 15! He made the olympic team, which a lot of great fighters couldn't do and he went out there and got a bronze (he got robbed in the semi finals). What do you all mean what's the point of my previous comment?! you know exactly what I mean! since 1993 till 1996 Floyd was one of the best amateur fighters in USA and in the world, where the fvck was Pacquiao at the time? If you get the bronze this means you're the 3rd best amateur fighter in the world, you competed against the best from all over the world, you were competing against people who've been waiting on this chance for 4 years, so competition is damn fierce, so to be a part of it and to finish 3rd (at the age of 18 and after a robbery in the semi finals) is a great accomplishment. Again, where the hell was Pacquiao, How many non-filipino fighters did he fight since his debut in 1995 till he won the title in 1998, why did he turn pro 1 year before the Olympics if his country believed he was a good fighter who had the potential to bring them a medal? they didn't because unlike Floyd, he simply wasn't on a world class level at the time. Doesn't necessarily mean that Pacquiao is a bad fighter, he's a great fighter, but I'm talking about accomplishments in the amateurs! it's a no contest, get over it!

He was working as a 15 year old, day to day less than minimum wage construction worker at the time. No family, thousands of miles from home and living in friend's homes. amateur boxing was the farthest from the kid's mind. He just wanted to be able to eat everyday, and send a few pesos to his family. Pro boxing it is. And BTW, Philippine amateur boxing does not pay the bills at all. Our last olympic medalist (silver) works now as a comdeian sidekick on local TV shows, when he's lucky enough to get a part. And most of our amateur boxers don't get enough allowance from the amateur boxing commission. Just enough so they won't starve in training, almost. That's why most of them are enlisted men in the Army, Navy, etc. to supplement their allowance. Well Pacquiao had reportedly 64 amateur fights and turned pro 1 year before the 96 Olympics, it might have been due to the fact that they couldn't finance him at the time or he might've been not a good amateur and they didn't want to support him financially, the Silver medalist at the light Flyweight division in the 96 Olympics was Mansueto Velasco from the Phillipines, this means that he was supported by the national team to get to that point! But anyway it's all in the past and it doesn't make a difference now really, I was just pissed that some P@ctards were making fun of Floyd's bronze medal as if it's something anybody can get, it's extremely hard to make the team and get a medal in the olympics because the competition is very hard.

I'm assuming Chavez Jr was born when Chavez Sr was 49-0. Thats his Marciano curse. Edit: Holy **** he was. Junior was born on Feb. 16, 1986. Senior notched his 49th win on Dec. 19, 1985. Guess Mayweather is ****ed!!! Holy *****!!

People say Marciano's "undefeated" record, if it's about never losing, Ricardo Lopez already broke the record like 20 years ago, he retired at 51-0-1 with a record of 24-0-1 in championship fights, one of the best fighters that I've ever seen. Plus he never lost as an amateur either!

Larry Holmes was robbed. They wanted him nowhere near Rocky's record. The whole country was rooting for Cooney before Holmes dusted him. Holmes was an amazing fighter.. True, nobody talks about this guy anymore, top 7 all time heavyweight in my book.

Floyd won the first 5 rounds easily by a great margain and anybody that would give Castillo any of the 1st 5 rounds shouldn't be judging boxing, maybe the 5th could've been a 10-10 round if you like the aggressor kind of judge, but that's about it. I had Floyd winning the 9th and 10th rather easily, beautiful boxing and beautiful leaping left hook. most of the rest of the rounds could've gone either way, I think Castillo won the 6-7 and 11, but 8 and 12 were very close. I had it 7-4-1 for Floyd after watching the fight 3 times on mute and disregarding Ledermann's sh1tty score cards and CONpubox numbers, I have no problem with anybody scoring it 7-5 for Floyd or even 6-5-1 for Floyd. A draw would've been extremely unfair to Floyd but some judges would tend to give more rounds to the champion for no reason if the fight is close. But actually saying that Castillo won the fight is just ridicioulus and even daring to say that Castillo won it clearly is just some bullsh1t coming from an emotional Mexican or Phillipino fan.

That was definitely one of mayweather's best performances but canelo had a horrible gameplan and I'm sure the weight drain made him slower. Canelo should be fighting at 160. In retrospect, canelo should have just came in at 154 and dared Floyd to cancel the fight. But yes, Floyd was great that night. If Canelo was drained he has nobody to blame except himself, he's the one who wanted to fight at 150 in 2012, so they made the fight at 152 a year later, Canelo actually weighed 153 in his previous fight against Trout, he had almost 10 weeks to prepare for Floyd and he wasn't coming off a layoff, which is enough time to lose 2 extra lbs healthy for an active fighter, he rehydrated to 165+ anyways.

Spadafora didn't drop him. But he did beat him up. Footage is on YouTube. Spadafora had good first 2 rounds and in the 3rd Floyd was adjusting and the work was pretty even I would say, u never know naybe it was Floyd's first day in camp and Spadafora could've been in the gym for a while? At this stage of his career he didn't have a lot of experience fighting southpaws, he improved alot during the period (2004-2006) cuz he fought 3 good southpaws Judah Corley and Mitchell, these are 3 fights and 6 months of sparring southpaws which helped him a lot latee.

Mayweather actually does have an official knockdown, when he broke his hand against Carlos Hernandez when his glove touched the canvas though it was because he broke his hand it was still an 'official' knockdown. Interestingly the round after that Floyd fought as a southpaw, only time I've ever seen him do it. He fought almost all the rounds after that as a southpaw, and actually he turned southpaw on numerous occasions when he was younger, he also turned southpaw against Castillo cuz of the injury he had and he didn't do so well, but I remember against Sharmba Mitchell, Mitchell was moving all the time and Floyd couldn't land the straight right as cleanly as he wanted so he turned southpaw and landed a beautiful straight left hand. Against Judah he was throwing a straight right to the body and got off balance and Judah touched him with a check right hook and Floyd's right glove touched the canvas, but it wasn't called a knockdown

Hating someone and being critical of soneone are totally different things, very few people hate GGG, but sone people are critical of him because of the undeserved hype he's getting for fighting low level of opposition, the guy has been a pro for 9 years and only fought 1 former champion in his entire career and being feared doesn't mean u r already proven, u still have to beat the best to be the best, older fighters like Cotto Mayweather and Pacquiao earned their hype the hard way, even Canelo who's still 25 fought much better opposition than GGG, hell even Kovalev who turned pro 5 years ago did nore than GGG, and imo he's a better more versatile fighter than GGG, yet he doesn't get the hype GGG gets. You had to be invited to the Super 6, the European names that took part were well known. You want Golovkin to move up, well he has offered to at least 5 times, all the fights were turned down. He has offered to move down too, to fight your guy and again was rebuffed. However, the original premise that you have to beat a PFP opponent to be on the PFP list is a nonsense. In a lot of cases it's just not possible. Who did he offer to move up to 168? he said he'd move up to 168 to fight Chavez, who's a bum or Froch, who retired, who else got offered a fight with GGG at 168 who's a legit challenger, GGG should've started campaigning at 168 long time ago and a fight between him and Ward would've already been made, but it's all good though, cleaning up a division is not a bad idea but I still believe that if anyone wants to be in the top 5 P4P u have to have beaten someone on the P4P list, even top 15 P4P. P4P fighters are well distributed over the weight classes, people consider Klitschko, Kovalev, Ward, GGG, Lara (personal opinion), Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Lomachenko, Rigo and Gonzalez to be the top P4P guys, it's not hard for any of them to move up or down to fight the other to be top 5 P4P, Ward can move up to fight Kovalev and GGG can move up to fight Ward or Lara can move up to fight GGG or Floyd can move up to fight GGG (although not realistic) and and Lomachenko can move up to become a champ at the weak 130 lbs division and maybe meet Walters there, Rigo can move up and fight Lomachenko or move down to fight Gonzalez at 118, these are all possibilities, it's not impossible, Floyd moved to 154 to fight Cotto at the age of 35 and despite him not even making 151 he still won, and again he moved up for Canelo at 36 and still won, he did these things while he has absolutely no business fighting at 154 since he never made the weight, I think GGG can comfortably make 168 and Ward can comfortably make 175 also Lomachenko can easily make 130. GGG should've campaigned at 168 for a while then fought Ward then the winner should move up to fight Kovalev, that's what makes the most sense and the winner of this "tournament" should become the #1 P4P fighter in the world.

Golovkin & Kovalev both moved up from 140, they just did it in the amateurs where they were both very successful. They turned pro later. Mayweather didn't move up past age 30 either. It's not a historical list, you want to keep Rigondeaux elevated for a fight he won 3 years ago, that doesn't reflect the sport today where Wlad, GGG and Kovalev are tearing it up. Ward's not on any list, when he was in 2013 Golovkin tried to make the fight with him and Ward wasn't interested. Froch was on the list a couple of months ago, he was offered the fight too, and he turned it down. GGG was at 140 when he was 17 and Floyd was 112 at the same age, does that mean he moved up from 112? Floyd won the first nationals at 106 when he was 15-16, just like Pacquiao, does this mean he moved up from 106? NO! GGG turned Pro at 24, Floyd first moved up to 135 at the same exact age! GGG was fighting at 165 in the olympics and instead of moving to 168 he moved down to 160, the 168 division had much better competition in 2010-2011 and I think he should've moved up and took part of the super 6, by that time he's already been a pro for 4-5 years! Kovalev is another case because he already has better opposition at 175 than GGG has at 160, also it's more realistic for Ward to move up to fight Kovalev than to drain himself and move down.

You probably didn't know how Roger was in the past, go watch one of his post fight interviews or listen to him talk in 24/7 Mayweather vs Hatton or Mayweather vs Dela Hoya, the man has quickly declined since then, watch Floyd and other fighters do the mitts with him and almost everytime they have to stop and start over, even in his Interviews he used to be very sharp and funny, now he sounds like an old man. He's still in his early 50s.

How are they going to do that when it's filled with little people? It doesn't matter why, fact is they never fought a top rated P4P fighter, Floyd did numerous times, I think Rigo is the only guy who did when he fought Donaire and I have him ahead of everybody else, listen if Floyd would've stayed at 130 all his career, like Kovalev, Ward, GGG, Rigo and so on, he would've never faced the level of opposition he faced and he wouldn't have gotten to where he is in his career, moving up in weight has become a standard now if u wanna become great, the bar is just set too high by Pacqauio, Mayweather, Whitaker, Jones and even Dela Hoya, all these people moved up and fought at a size disadvantage to beat the best P4P fighters, if they can't get P4P ranked guys in their weight divisions and don't have any legit competition they should move up, Gonzalez is doing a great job and he's confident in his talent, which is why I have him just behind Rigo. And no you don't get credit for fighters "ducking" you, you only get credit when u beat them in the ring, there are no moral victories in sports.

Porter is a big welterweight and he still beat Broner at 154, Hopkins was a big middleweight and ge beat Dela Hoya at 156, so Canelo has no excuse, he agreed on the weight and had enough time to make it.

His chin is obviously very good other wise you wouldnt be able to take clean solid shots from Pacquaio, Mosley, Oscar, Maidana, Corralse, Cotto, Castillo etc etc etc without hitting the mat. But he has been rocked a few times. Corley, Judah, Maidana, Pacquaio, Mosley all rocked him and hurt him. And Oscar and Cotto buzzed him too. He just did a good job of hiding it. I agree with everything except for the part about Oscar buzzing him, I didn't see this at all in the fight.

Well, It's a horrible match up for sure!! I just got a feeling that Floyd is gonna go out there and try to beat the sh1t outta Berto. He's gonna "Gatti" him. I don't see how someone can pick GGG over Mayweather at 154, 6 lbs are NOT a joke people, he's gonna be even slower and more sluggish with decreased power and stamina, which are basically his only advantages, this could be easier than the Canelo fight even though Floyd is not the same since then.I would love to see this at 156-157, at 157 that's an even fight right there.

Thing is no way would Floyd get any credit at all beating GGG at 154 , so what would be the point . Legacywise it's a pointless fight at 154, but casuals will buy the fight to see Floyd lose, so financially it makes sense especially for 34 year old GGG who's yet to make a decent payday.

If Golovkin said he has no trouble making the weight, then I don't see any reason to doubt he can beat Floyd. He wants the payday, hell even Bernard Hopkins wanted to go down to 160 at the age of 49 to fight Floyd Mayweather, GGG is already 34 years old, he knows with his style he won't be around in 4-5 years, he wants to cash out, hell if Floyd pressured him to make 152 he's gonna kill himself to make it to get the payday.

I actually didn't notice the poll initially so I haven't voted, but Ahmed's in the midst of convincing me Golovkin is the go-to guy. In addition to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Carl Froch, there was Mikkel Kessler and a year or two back there was Edwin Rodriguez, Adonis Stevenson and Andre Ward*. Loeffler co-signed this as legit, he has denied other false reports of Golovkin's comments. I'm aware fighters can move up and down, but again on its own moving up or down doesn't define greatness, it matters more who you fight and also when you fight them. Broner's on course to be a 4 weight champion but nobody's calling him great so it's definitely not the be-all and end-all that you're saying, nor is beating another PFP list fighter an absolute must. Can you write in paragraphs man, it's not easy to break down walls of text. My bad with the paragraphs, Broner is not in the conversation cuz he was never a lineal champion, he never fought a P4P fighter his whole career. He lost to Maidana who was an underdog and he lost to Porter after he had all kinds of advantages in his favor from the weight to the referee to the promotion to the purse split, and despite all that he still gave an embarrassing performance and lost, he literally fought like a scared fighter till the last round, no boxing no movement no offense, nothing at all. I'm not saying fighters MUST move up for the sake of moving up, I said if there are no legit challengers in your weight and there's a P4P guy in the next weight class you should move up and fight him to get to the top 5 maybe even top 3 P4P, especially if never moved up in weight before, plus GGG's biggest payday after the winner of Cotto Canelo is Ward. Floyd and Manny moved up all the weight classes to get better challenges and they were chasing the cash cow of the business at the time who was Oscar Dela Hoya. Floyd agreed to fight him at 154 even though he had just moved up to 147 a bit more than a year earlier and he knew he would be at a significant disadvantage fighting a guy like Dela Hoya at a new weight, bigger pillow gloves, smaller ring, 80-20 purse split and in Dela Hoya's home in Vegas, but he still chased him through the weight classes from 135 all the way up to 154 and agreed to all terms to get that fight, we're yet to see any of the top guys of today do anything like this, I don't see Lomachenko trying to get a fight with Terence Crawford or Crawford trying to get a fight with GGG, like I said the bar is set too high.
