Saw this in a thread and thought it would make for a good discussion.
When Manny lost to Floyd, GGG assumed the mantle as NSB's most popular fighter as a ton of posters jumped off Manny's bandwagon and got on GGG's.
When Floyd retires (I think he isn't but lets assume he actually does), the legions of posters that despise him will need a new boxer to hate.
Who do you think and why?
That "entirely shot" fighter was also considered #2-#3 in most P4P lists.
it just goes to show how good he actually was when prime back in 09 as most would consider his best days are long behind him I suppose
lol I will admit though that I cracked up over that homer bush meme with him wearing a MP shirt at first but then he comes out from the bush for round 12 with a GGG shirt. I can't find it though.
EDIT: Also, this article.

"Gennady Golovkin: Could 'GGG' be the next Manny Pacquiao?"
Came out like 2 weeks after May-Pac.

There will be more than one. It will vary on the fan bases. Cotto (certain Mexicans hate him, and unpopular catch weight fights, diva negotiator), GGG(some fans don't like that he is overshadowing their favorite fighter, and pose a threat, untested), Broner(annoying and disrespectful, ) Wilder (if he keeps winning but continues to show flaws, he will get hated more) it's always the same story. If you have popularity, there will always be criticism and hate from the envious.
Hating someone and being critical of soneone are totally different things, very few people hate GGG, but sone people are critical of him because of the undeserved hype he's getting for fighting low level of opposition, the guy has been a pro for 9 years and only fought 1 former champion in his entire career and being feared doesn't mean u r already proven, u still have to beat the best to be the best, older fighters like Cotto Mayweather and Pacquiao earned their hype the hard way, even Canelo who's still 25 fought much better opposition than GGG, hell even Kovalev who turned pro 5 years ago did nore than GGG, and imo he's a better more versatile fighter than GGG, yet he doesn't get the hype GGG gets.
See it's not hatred, it's criticism, totally different things
lets face it, no damn messican or latin fighter will ever be the most hated!!!!!!!!!
and especially no white or karzakiztan or whatever the hell GGG is from will be that much hated!!!!!!!
the most hated spot is always reserved for the cocky black american fighter!!!!!!!
no exceptions!!!!!!
Exhibit A ladies and gentlemen
Lmao... Hey look, if Wilder steps up and handles Povetkin, then all the power to him. I'm just saying that I don't expect that to happen.
Wilder and it won't even be close. Just wait until he beats Povetkin. Ooooooooh boy it will get reaaaal ugly in here reeeeeal quick.
Bruh the dude got staggered by Eric Molina. He ain't ready for Povetkin.
Definitely Haymon - i heard his name multiple times as STaples being blamed for the 117-111 card for LSC
Maybe Ward but not many really even care to hate - I think GGG seems to be the most polarizing for now. Wilder's popularity will grow - if Wlad loses to Fury and Wilder attempts to claim he is now the man by default and continues to fight bums he will become very hated
ggg hatred is countered by the massive amount of religious fanboys he has!!!!! especially now more than ever now that pac roid got laid out!!!!!!
ggg fanboys are as pathetic as they were when they had on the filipino colors!!!!!
the difference is WILDER and BRONER dont got as much support as they do hate!!!!
so sit down with that crap you phoney baloney!!!!!!!
So I guess all Floyd fans aren't racist and are real educated non biased posters??
Gtfoh philly c u n t
