Marciano retired 49-0 and made boxing history...but later, in a horrible twist of fate, died in a plane crash. When unbeaten champions approach Marciano's record, something bad often happens.
Victims:
Chris John stopped by Simpiwe Vetyeka after 48th win
Paul Spadafora lost to Johan Perez after 48th win
Larry Holmes lost to Spinks twice after 48th win
Dariusz Michalczewski lost to Julio Cesar Gonzalez after 48th win
Roy Jones Junior knocked out cold by Tarver after 49th win
Brian Nielsen stopped by Dicky Ryan after 49th win
I'm assuming Chavez Jr was born when Chavez Sr was 49-0. Thats his Marciano curse.
Edit: Holy **** he was. Junior was born on Feb. 16, 1986. Senior notched his 49th win on Dec. 19, 1985.
Guess Mayweather is ****ed!!!
Hahahaha what a coincidence.

Loooooooooool. I'm in tears.
Larry Holmes was robbed. They wanted him nowhere near Rocky's record. The whole country was rooting for Cooney before Holmes dusted him.
Holmes was an amazing fighter..
True, nobody talks about this guy anymore, top 7 all time heavyweight in my book.

People say Marciano's "undefeated" record, if it's about never losing, Ricardo Lopez already broke the record like 20 years ago, he retired at 51-0-1 with a record of 24-0-1 in championship fights, one of the best fighters that I've ever seen.
Plus he never lost as an amateur either!

Floyd's smart. He's getting out before :skull:
A draw in a record in not an unblemished record... Saying that, Marciano is the only American BOXER to Retire undefeated. Do I think Mayweather Retires with the same record?..yes. Does he comes back and win a big 50th?.. I don't think so.
