Canelo
Crawford
Spence, Jr.
Usyk
Inoue
I think Shakur Stevenson is more skilled than Inoue, but Inoue's wins over Narvaez, McDonnell, and two wins over Donaire put him slightly ahead resume wise over Stevenson. Stevenson gets another top win and I would put him in over Inoue.
Jesse Rodriguez (WBC Champion) just dominated Srisaket Sor Rungvisai
Juan Francisco Estrada (WBC Franchise/WBA Champion) is supposed to be fighting Joshua Franco August 20th.
Kazuto Ioka (WBO Champion)/Donnie Nietes II is July 13th.
Jerwin Ancajas is supposedly exercising his rematch clause against Fernando Daniel Martinez (IBF Champion) (supposedly in October).
Roman Gonzalez is also still in the mix.
The way I can draw it out is using best case scenarios is as such :
Kazuto Ioka beats Donnie Nietes in the rematch, Juan Francisco Estrada dominates Joshua Franco.
Kazuto Ioka and Juan Francisco Estrada meet on NYE card in Japan or anywhere before end of Year (this is possible due to Estrada dominating Franco and making up for the long lay off between March 2021 - Aug 2022).
Jesse Rodriguez fights Roman Gonzalez in End of October/Beginning of November (who ever wins this doesn't matter as long as it's a clean win).
Fernando Daniel Martinez beats Jerwin Ancajas in October.
Winner of Rodriguez/Gonzalez fights Fernando Daniel Martinez in February 2023. The winner of that fight then goes on to fight the winner of Kazuto Ioka/Juan Francisco Estrada in June/July of 2023.
Andrade already lined himself for an undisputed with Canelo just like Sweet Cheeks. You have to ask Canelo how he figured Sweet Cheeks was a better fighter. As Far as Charlo you need to talk to Ronnie Shields b/c he said Andrade is nobody so they don't have to fight him. Trainer duck talk.
Unless you are implying Andrade has to fight the Great Jenibek to be Great.
Hopefully Andrade can fight and beat Zach Parker and then fight Canelo. Andrade would be a great opponent for Canelo.
I will say this too. Remember when Whittaker got robbed against Chavez? Sports Illustrated had "robbery" on the cover and everyone thought it was a joke. Even though Chavez won, Whittaker passed him on the p4p list. That's how it should work. You don't get p4p points for controversial victories.
The Whitaker/Chavez fight was scored a draw (Jose Luis Ramirez was given a decision victory of Whitaker that was even worse than Chavez getting a draw against Whitaker).
I personally scored the Canelo/Lara fight in favor of Canelo and scored the first fight between Canelo/GGG in favor of GGG, but Canelo going up and narrowly losing (or getting a draw) against GGG when Golovkin was still seen at his peak is a major accomplishment.
Due to pre-fight thoughts - me too.
But watching the fight live, at the show allowed me to see how slow Smith, Jr. was, so as it was unfolding it wasn't a surprise.
I understand why Dubois and his team are accepting this offer, but I think for his future and long term career it would be better for him to use the year of 2023 to recovery from his ACL injury and look to resume his journey for greatness in 2024.
Jared Anderson has great potential and tools. He is a bit undersized for the modern HW divsion, but he gave Tyson Fury great sparring. He can be a HW champion after he gains more expeerience fighting big, world-class boxers. They are a very tough bunch, compared to who he has been fighting. He needs to get more control of his emotions and demeanor, and keep his composure during the fight. Few HW's can take flush punches as he did in the Forrest fight and remain clear and strong enough to win. He did in that fight, but there are some fights where that would get him in trouble. I'm not sure he has ever had to weather serious trouble in a fight. No one knows how that will go until you're in that predicament (even the fighter). Nothing wrong with backing off and staying safe during a fight.
He is definitely a young force to be reckoned with at HW.
What makes you say what's in bold?
Jared : 6'4" - 78 1/2" reach
Usyk : 6'3" - 78" reach
Ruiz : 6'2" - 74" reach
Whyte : 6'4" - 78" reach
Ortiz : 6'4" - 78" reach
Dubois : 6'5" - 78" reach
Parker : 6'4" - 76" reach
Sanchez : 6'4" - 78" reach
Wallin " 6'5 1/2" - 78" reach
To me, Jared size fits right in and if he continues to improve his catch-and-shoot style and adding in some wrinkles in improving his head movement his size won't be a factor (even against guys like Wilder, Joyce, Joshua, Fury).
I haven't seen a young heavyweight since Mike Tyson to get excited about, not Bowe, Larry Donald or any American fighter is this good per me.
I sort of get where you're coming from, but to put things into perspective :
Jared has been a professional for 3 years and 2 months with no notable wins.
Riddick 3 years and 8 months into career had wins over : Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tubbs and lineal Undefeated Heavyweight Champion of the World, Evander Holyfield.
I like Charlo's skills and mindset (when he's hungry), but I think he's lately become a complacent lion, he needs to get hungry again - demand these fights.
Solid fight, probably the best, reasonable option right now for Shakur. Stevenson gets a homecoming and maybe they can get some of the Brazilian contingent in NYC to come out
And also a lot of Brazilians live in Newark.
He turned pro about a year younger than this guy currently is. Anderson has time on his hands I just hope they use the time to improve his flaws and not fatten up his record with cannon fodder opponents.
I like his style and personal story it would be a nice story if he left boxing with a nice nest egg and a championship too.
Yes, Jared turn pro at 19 - two weeks before his 20th birthday - and Riddick turned pro at approx. 21 1/2 years of age. I hope the same as well.
What this actually means is he didn't receive an offer that made him want to pull the trigger. If some one pitched him the right offer + numbers the deal would be made immediately.
