It's a bit much to say Joshua struggled with him.
I'm not sure there was any point when Joshua was troubled, or when the fight was in doubt.
He didn't look brilliant. But he certainly never struggled. Franklin was surely booked for AJ to look spectacular but he didn't fulfil his side of the bargain - clinging on and just trying to make it to the final bell.
Next thing you know people on here will say he went 'life and death' with him. These things have a habit of growing on here.
The dictionary entry I'm referring to in regard to "struggle" reads as follows: "Strive to achieve or attain something in the face of difficulty or resistance".
In that sense, I do think he struggled. And - as you also point out - he did not achieve his aim. Namely, making a statement against a lesser opponent. Then, if people start talking life and death, it's not my fault.
Did he? Because I saw one guy getting his head snapped back by the jab on a regular basis, and it wasn't Joshua.
Franklin busted up his nose with the jab. He countered AJ off the jab too.
Joshua’s jab is ponderous, predictable and stiff.
He got out jabbed by Jermaine Franklin.

I'm not even sure it will be done. AJ could lose before the fight with Fury is finalized. They're trying to describe Franklin as a tough opponent, but the reality is that Joshua struggled quite a bit against a B-minus level fighter.
And that's without even taking into account his evident mental issues (which is yet another common link to Lewis vs Tyson).

I disagree, providing it happens sometime in the near future (within the next 12-18 months). Neither man is shot and neither man is old, especially for heavyweights. Could/should it have happened sooner? Sure, but that's boxing these days and big fights not getting made at their absolute peak isn't surprising in the least. It's still a great fight on paper at this point, much different than Lewis/Tyson.
As for it not being competitive, I couldn't disagree more. I think it will be highly competitive and a very winnable fight for both men. Yes, Fury's in better form right now (arguably the best form of his career) but I think people are severely underestimating Joshua based on two defeats to a great boxer in Usyk. He may have lost, but he also got twenty four rounds worth of high-level experience against conceivably the best heavyweight in the world. There's no shame in those defeats, if anything they will stand him in good stead against another elusive fighter in Fury.
Joshua has a hell of a jab, is well schooled and hits like a truck. He just needs to loosen up and let his hands go a bit more freely, but he's not shot. Fury will start as the favourite and rightly so, but make no mistake, if Fury beats Joshua it will be his best win since Klitschko.

Fury plays with Joshua.
- The two biggest names.
- Way past it’s sell by date.
- Won’t be competitive.

I think Wilder AJ was the bigger loss. AJ Wilder 2018 would have been huge one of the biggest in history. Undisputed. US vs UK. Both undefeated. AJ Fury would have been big but by the time Fury got a belt back AJ had all ready been battered around the ring by a fat Ruiz.
Fury people want to see fight AJ but if Fury fights and wins he won't get the credit anyway people will just say he won a shot and past it AJ. If he never fights him people will say he never did. So can't win going forward if the fight happens only win is financially

You could be right, I think it would be a shame tbh, it’s probably the most mainstream fight since Eubank-Benn 2 or even Ali coming to the UK.
B- is generous tbh. I know triangle theories don’t always work but Franklin couldn’t even stop Pavel Sour who got blown out by Hughie Fury, Nathan Gorman amongst others. That’s the kind of level we’re talking about. The pre Ruiz Joshua blows Franklin away in 3-4 rounds IMO.

Except barely anyone in North America is going to GAF.
It’s like the UK equivalent. Won’t be anywhere as big as it could have been globally.
They’ll still rob the UK fans of a super fight and take it to that backward sh**hole in the desert too.
