even by not looking at records i can see that kessler is a world class boxer.
sometimes a fan of boxing doesn't need to see a fighter vs another to see that he is awesome. calzasghe hasn't always performed, but the fights he has then you will see he is exceptional. you have to see quite a few of his fights to think wow he is really good. that being said, i have always wanted him to fight the best. i have stated that he may not be unbeaten, but a jones, hopkins, then a move to tarver or taylor would have been good to watch.
i can dig that. i just want to see kessler when he comes back before everybody make him out to be greater than what he is.
215! Welcome to Philadelphia
Philadelphia: At least it's not Camden. I hope bernard represents. at 42 he is still stepping out there against top competition. he deserves respect as an ATG.
are you from philly
bernard is a great fighter but people like to discredit other fighters like calzaghe and say that he has not fought anyone so people point out the flaws in hopkins resume
you don't have to discredit anybody to make fav fighter the proof is the work.
i may not like joe but it takes alot to undefeated for that long
215, show ya loyalty homie, bet all the points. I started that talk right when the fight was beginning to be talked about, even before the Mayweather-Hatton weigh-in. Fumin readily agreed.
He's gunna be a sad, sad boxingscene'r some April 19th.
RETURN OF THE MASK!
you a b-hop fan right
i like ko
but i love to see someone get broken and lose they will
when they say artform they mean sweet science- jack johnson, willie pep, sweet pea, and bhop
my thing with this you keep failing to mention is b-hop was in the project before he moved to germantown. and thats when his pops was around. they only probable moved out because his moms got a nice size check from his dad dying.( in those times in the project he was already learning to do wrong, it don't make it no better cause you move) it probable made it worse cause he lost his father. i sorry but they was struggling moms with 2-3 jobs and 8 kids. that mean some of the kids was not getting what they need or wanted. that leads them to steal. welcome to black america
i have no problem with what he says to me personally he is the best since ali. i can't stand mayweather when he talks. b-hop get me hyped for the fight like nobody else. as for his life did he have a hard life. to me yes. did he cause it probably but don't we all or it our parents. what i like is how he rebounded afterwards. plus i relate to him in alot of ways
i would put him at #1 cause of the three recent ranked fighters he beat and how old he is. (even thou i think floyd will be number 1) i just wish he would fight someone ranked or a welterweight
Yes I sometimes played wiffle ball on the same streets where a teenage Bernard Hopkins was robbing old ladies. Forgive me if this fact makes me feel a bit disillusioned about the whole "street" thing.
my moms best friend from growing up in g-town only two years older than b-hop....most guys from area were known for jumping people at that time
my parents are both two years older than b-hop. they are from logan and north philly .... both said that it was a ok but it had it bad spots and you didn't want to be there at night. the thing is what is hood now was not the same back then. and everbody from philly know bill cosby is from richard allen project(which was one of worst places to live other kesington).
you are really trying to paint this picture that he had some normal middle class life. normal went out the window when your 1 one 8. and mom is working 2-3 jobs and no dad esp. in those times
LOLOL I am bitter? LOL So I post things and I am bitter but you post things and its just business as usual? He fought a kid who grew up on a farm (RJ) and his life theory didnt work out for him. Now he says it will work with Joe...maybe he beats Joe, I dont know....but anybody who actully thinks he beats him for the reasons he stated is not realistic. Growing up in poverty, tough, drugs, prison etc, means VERY little in the boxing ring on fight night. When you get drilled with a spearing body shot to your gut that you arent prepared for, the fact that you have been stabbed. have robbed peoe and have had prison yard fights wont help SQUAT. Do u have any idea how many guys like Hopkins I have seen quit, get KO'd, get dropped etc etc? Many, trust me
