What the hell is he crying for? You stepped in the ring with a guy way out of your league and instead of talking about boxing all I hear out of his mouth is Jew this, Muslim that. How about 'I got my ass whooped and I got a lot of things to work on?' This got nothing to do with religion and hate and all of that, son. Either suck it up and get back in the gym or go do your rabbi thing and leave the fight game alone.
Brother Naz will certainly be a nice change of pace from Roger, Floyd Sr., Graham, Roach and their big ass mouths. His entire view on life plus how sharp he is talking about the sport makes for very insightful interviews.
Holy shit this thread is tells quite the story about the intelligence level in NSB. Reading is fundamental kids...
It's an interesting idea, but I'd much prefer SSM/Floyd go sometime around May and ideally Berto gets the winner of either this one of Pac/Clottey somewhere down the line.
Ex didn't look nearly fast enough tonight to be able to hang with Haye at HW. If he's serious about it you still gotta admire the man's courage though.
The way Pacquiao was fighting late into the fight it didn't appear that he was at all afraid of getting hit by Cotto. Pretending to not be hurt and fighting as if your opponent can't really hurt you are totally different things. I'd take that as a pretty good sign that no, Cotto didn't take any of the fight out of Pacquiao.
Pacquiao is nobody's bitch............what's wrong with taking the blood tests immediately AFTER the fight....why is that not enough for Floyd?
You really think roids are to an athlete like ****ing spinach is to Popeye, don't you? You don't pop that stuff and jump into the ring/run your race/play the game all juiced up with superhuman strength. What people are discussing here are drugs that help you rebuild tissues faster allowing you to train harder and recover faster, and blood doping that helps stamina. Not that I think Pac is actually on anything, it's just that the whole 'after the fight' testing argument bothers me. If doping were to happen it would happen during training camp, and people much smarter and more qualified than you and me have gone on the record saying there are substances that could be used in training camp that wouldn't be detected by traditional tests weeks later after the fight.
Roy should have retired a while ago. Too bad for him. he can still fight, its just that his chin is no longer there. Its nothing like an older Ali, who already had mild Parkinson by the time he fought Leon Spinks.
Roy is a grown ass man, and people need to stop treating him as if he is a retard man.
I sorta agree. You can blame the NSAC for allowing a fight like Ali/Holmes to happen when the signs of Parkinsons were clear as day already. That was shameful. In this case, they're saying Roy is healthy and fit to fight, just not at the elite level we're used to seeing him at. No one wants to see him get seriously hurt, but at the same time it's no one's job (except maybe his family's) to tell a grown man who's fought for a living his entire life that he can't step into the ring because he's not good enough. Like someone quoted Larry Merchant saying, it's their choice to fight, it's your choice whether to watch or not.
Fair question. He's a great TV fighter but his last two have been duds (can't blame him for Kermit's **** though). It depends on the opponent really, if he takes a lesser fight to work on some things HBO won't pay for it, but if he's right back at it against another action fighter they should definitely still be interested in him.
No doubt, he was pawing and knocking gloves away before they could even actually clinch. As soon as it looked like Sergio's right hand was gonna get under Williams he was already stepping in. If this fight went any longer than it did I think we'd have a lot more threads about this topic, he really was killing any momentum the fight was gaining.
That ship has sailed. Steward wouldn't be a good fit to me, Manny would wanna flip his entire style and have him boxing tall behind a long jab. That isn't his strength, never will be. He's not Tommy Hearns. I think he'd benefit from anyone with a decent understanding of the fundamentals who's gonna let him be who he is but at the same time get on his ass about some of the more egregious technical mistakes he often makes (maybe a Jeff Mayweather?). If you're gonna throw that punch across your body at least have the left hand up not down at your waist, and try moving your head every once in a while. His flaws really got exposed tonight.
I'm Canadian...Ex won. A draw isn't a terrible decision, but saying Pascal won is bull****
Edit: I forgot that was my avy lol. Terrible performance by him
Good sports over there. They are cheering for Chambers on his way out.
They're just glad he's not dead. Looked pretty bad the way he was lying there for a while, especially when he bounced off the bottom rope like that.
All Chambers needed to do was circle to Wladmir's left and throw the right over his left jab.
Chambers needed to use a lot of foot movement.
Lot of people say something to that effect and they're all underestimating Wlad's footwork. Obviously the ridiculous reach helps him big time, but he's very, very good at keeping an opponent in front of him. Of course if Fast Eddie was actually, y'kno, fast, he might have had a chance, but I digress...
The commentator's usage of the word 'joy' is pissing me off. I think he's lookin for 'success,' but what do I know
As far as the fight, not much to say is there?
Dude is loading up on those body shots he's not even scared of the counter punch. Cabo tries that sloppy shit with a quick, precise counterpuncher he'll be taking some serious damage.
Quintana is fighting like a ******, Quintana clinches like a bitch because he can't deal with Berto's inside fighting.
Glad someone's seeing it right. Berto gotta stop turning himself though, that's some bullshit too.
Yeah this one should be stopped. I dunno if it's a good idea to have his brother training him just because he's never gonna stop it regardless how bad it gets.
