Want to totally destroy Pac's PPV on March 13? HBO only needs to lineup a Mayweather-Mosley doubleheader on Free HBO, if both win, PPV later this year. Now that's business
60k that Pac-Clottey will be on HBO PPV...
Dude do you realize that HBO is likely already planning to meet with GBP in light of Berto's decision. HBO already knows May-Mosley is where the money is, they will drop Pac-Clottey in a heartbeat if GBP wants that March 13 date.
even if they sell 500K, they would still make more money than they would putting on a free show.
For one, whose going to watch Pac Clottey 24-7, ratings will be low, hate to say it, but most will tune in to see Clottey not Pac. If Floyd wants that March 13 date, HBO knows that Mayweather and television camera's = $$$$ Floyd would get the HBO camera crew even if it is a tune up. As long as Mosley fighting on the same card they got a hit on their hands.

Top Rank is promoting their own fight because HBO will pick GBP/Mayweather over Top Rank.

Blame Bob Arum for his lack of vision, and putting HBO in a position where they have to choose. March 13 was Floyd's HBO date not Pac's, Arum clearly wanted to upstage Mayweather with his Dallas event, he could of chose the next weekend but he's a selfish old man. HBO could easily sign Floyd and Shane to some guaranteed money vs lesser opponents on free HBO, and HBO subscribers will be very happy. Happy enough to not watch the independent Pac PPV at all.
Yeah you're definitely right about Arum wanting to upstage Mayweather because he hates him. If I had to choose I would watch the Mosley and Mayweather fight because Mosley is my favorite fighter and its got Floyd fighting and they are for free.
HBO already picked up Pacquiao vs Clottey for that date.Link from the creditable source?

I dont wan't those fights to take place on the same night. If Mosely-mayweather did a double header that would be sick but not if it was on March 13. I want to see all them fight not have to pick which ones to watch.

It hasn't been confirmed yet, i can see Floyd wanting to push on with the March 13 knowing that his fight would sell well and would easily outsell Pac-Clottey. He went head 2 head with a UFC PPV when he fought Marquez didn't he?
Holy shit this thread is tells quite the story about the intelligence level in NSB. Reading is fundamental kids...
It's an interesting idea, but I'd much prefer SSM/Floyd go sometime around May and ideally Berto gets the winner of either this one of Pac/Clottey somewhere down the line.
it would be one of the greatest nights in boxing if these 2 shows go head to head... but I"m sure HBO would want to milk each PPV and so Shane vs. Floyd would happen in May.
You guys aren't listening, HBO would not have them fighting each other on March 13, they would just have them fight on the same card. HBO would want time to prepare for May-Mosley PPV, they were geared for May-Pac and would want to schedule May-Mosley later in the year. But there is no way they wouldn't want to drum up interest in March by having both guys appear in the ring.

HBO isn't going to put on a free show on the 13th when they can make money off the pac/clottey ppv instead.
More like they can lose money on a Pac-Clottey PPV. Trust me when I tell you Pac Clottey will be an independent Top Rank production.
You guys are misreading the point of the thread. I speak of a Mosley-Mayweather doubleheader, both of these guys fighting on the same card against tune up level opponents. The purpose, to draw up interest for a PPV later this year.
What I'm saying is that if they fight tune ups on free HBO, that would, imo, attract a bigger audience than a Pac-Clottey fight. Now, thing is, who cares if it does or dont. All I know is that Floyd has a March 13 date and under the right circumstances, he should take it

I doubt they would put out a Floyd fight for free. Also, putting on a fight the same night as Pac/Clottey is a bad move. You have to remember that alot of Floyd haters pay for his fights just to see him lose. Alot of the them are Pac fans, so he will be cancelling out those buys. This is the same reason why big blockbuster movies try not to schedule a premier on the same day. He's better off taking a later date, this will guarantee that you have the full attention of all boxing fans. Mayweather/Mosley will be his second biggest money fight and it will beat Pac/Clottey.
Are you guys insane? No way this fight happeneds on March 13th. What kind of sense would that make? Either put it on May 1st or bump the Hopkins fight to May 1st and let Floyd-Mosley take the April date. I just dont think it makes any sense at all to lose money fighting at the same time as Pac. Thats why I think there was talk of a guy lke Alvarez. This is a super fight. There is the 3 headed monster of Floyd, Pac, and Mosley. Mosley isnt quite on that level but he's the next best thing in terms of super fight so why cut all that money by doing it the same day and doing it so soon? I cant see it. Go April or May 1st
There's no way in hell that HBO provides a Mayweather-Mosley fight for free. This fight can sell a shi.t load of ppv buys so don't even think you'll get it free..
You clearly aren't reading the post. I dont mean them fighting each other on March 13.........get what I'm saying now?
