Back in my days, we didn't wear cups.
If you got hit in the nuts, you gutted it out.

Haha! That was a Bob Uecker joke on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
        He was a baseball catcher.

I'm not a sexy guy. I went to a hooker. I dropped my pants. She dropped her price.

There's no shame in using a body protector. Don't listen to these dopes. I bruised my rib twice on the same spot and it took 3 weeks each time to fully heal, so I bought one of those shirt protectors designed for baseball catchers. Better to protect your body than to be out of the gym for weeks.

I bought this one because for me because the padding on this one in particular covers the spot that I injured twice - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

part of the sport is just accepting the fact that **** can just happen. There's a womans march going on some where. Maybe should attend and wear your catchers bull****. Or maybe you can bring your elbows in and quit flappin' around the ring like a chicken. Either you let it heal and go back or you don't. Point blank: **** happens. ..…….Rockin'

I got hit with a right hook to the body last October in Peru on my short rib with my left jab extended. It was towards the end of our spar. It felt different a bit and I noticed it afterwards big time. I was just trying to help the kid learn, he was early 20s. It didn't paralyze me, but I felt it. Afterwards, I thought it was just a sore spot from a body shot - the next morning I noticed a little pain if I moved a certain way, etc. I was like damn now it's going to hurt to just go lift weights. I believe it was broken or fractured, I recommend sparring again in two weeks to 1 Month depending on how bad the fracture/break is, take 5000iu d3 daily, glucosamine, msm, l citrulline (1g),incorporate healthy plant based meals into your diet, buy green lipped mussel powder - it helped my foot fracture heal. Bedtime, 1200calcium 1000magnesium.

Last week, I spent about 20 minutes standing on my head in my truck passenger seat area ( the fuse box is under an upper passenger kick panel and I had to pull every fuse almost. ) figuring out a trailer tow issue, the next morning and for the next few days it was sore a bit where I took that shot! Was no big deal, but it amazed me that I felt it again. This is 8 -9months afterwards.

Thinking about it, Big George would always throw a downward arcing right hook to the body, to the exact spot I got hit at. That is a good punch to add to any arsenal, but to throw it the way George did you need to have a tire with hammer, or wood chopping in your training. He came wide with the downward chop motion.
