My wife Toki was impressed, made her love me more when I finally realized I had two broken ribs, the pain got the better of me, the doctor told her, honestly, “your husband is a ****ing idiot”. My wife laughs and agreed, Fujisawa hospital, Japan...

It felt different a bit and I noticed it afterwards big time. I was just trying to help the kid learn, he was early 20s. It didn't paralyze me, but I felt it. Afterwards, I thought it was just a sore spot from a body shot - the next morning I noticed a little pain if I moved a certain way, etc. I was like damn now it's going to hurt to just go lift weights. I believe it was broken or fractured, I recommend sparring again in two weeks to 1 Month depending on how bad the fracture/break is, take 5000iu d3 daily, glucosamine, msm, l citrulline (1g),incorporate healthy plant based meals into your diet, buy green lipped mussel powder - it helped my foot fracture heal. Bedtime, 1200calcium 1000magnesium.

Last week, I spent about 20 minutes standing on my head in my truck passenger seat area ( the fuse box is under an upper passenger kick panel and I had to pull every fuse almost. ) figuring out a trailer tow issue, the next morning and for the next few days it was sore a bit where I took that shot! Was no big deal, but it amazed me that I felt it again. This is 8 -9months afterwards.

Thinking about it, Big George would always throw a downward arcing right hook to the body, to the exact spot I got hit at. That is a good punch to add to any arsenal, but to throw it the way George did you need to have a tire with hammer, or wood chopping in your training. He came wide with the downward chop motion.
Awesome response. Thanks! And to the guy above about the baseball shirt. I think its pretty ****** and unintelligent as a fighter to have an attitude of, oh well, just keep rocking. You only have 1 body. I'd much rather be that fighter that can train Every day, and not have to take a couple weeks off for an injury, I think that's called, fighting smart. I don't mind taking a punch or getting injured if it happens, but I'm damn sure going to try to be keep my body in the best condition possible while i'm doing it.

I took a hard rib shot a few weeks ago from a dude that was bigger than me. Afterwords, it hurt on deep breaths in and certain body positions....when I raised my arm or threw a left hook. For recovery, I took more rest days than normal, but in training, basically avoided any exercises which would aggravate this area and no sparring at all. Did a lot of leg work during this period. Feeling almost 100% recovered now. Pretty sure my ribs were just bruised tho. Point is to work around your injuries the best you can during recovery. Maybe stop training all together if needed.Anything that is causing super intense pain should be countered with complete rest till the pain subsides and possibly a visit to the doctor. Listen to your body and don’t rush it. Younger guys tend to think they are invincible which leads to longer recovery times.
