Thinking about trying one of these: http://www.evoshield.com/en-us/adult...ance-rib-shirt

What do yall think? It looks like it would be enough protection to prevent rib injuries, and also be light and mobile enough to spar.
I might buy that just to use for Black Friday shopping this year.

Never used them before, but it's a very interested concept. Not sure how well it protects from a hard hook.

Being smart would be going to see a doctor. Being smart would not train injured. Of all the years in gyms I have never EVER once saw someone use a rib shield. That thing ain't going to work and you're going to be a laughing stock at the gym. You want a big toe shield too in case you bump toes?

Look man, if you can't take body blows, hang them up for real. Real gyms make dudes spar to the body for their first ever sparring session so they don't get hurt know what I mean? If you can't even do that, Boxing isn't for you.

It's a rough sport, the roughest. There is no shame in stopping. At least until you heal.

Be smart and don't get injuries. I hurt my shoulder in another sport and had to take 6 weeks off when I was competing. I was climbing the walls. But you have to do it.

I sparred a week and a half ago, and got hit with a good body shot right at the lower cusp of my rib cage. Sparred the next day, got hit in the same spot with a power shot. Now, I can't even take a dump without feeling it. I can't get out of bed without feeling the damn thing, and its taking forever to heal. I want to train but im worried i will make it worse. There is no visible bruise, but it hurts like hell. Anyone else experience this?

Thinking about buying a body protector or something for next time i spar.
              Get one of these bud

Lol ok. That's funny because the pro's we have spar smart and wear body protectors, its the amateurs who are being idiots not wearing cups, headgear and getting hurt.

MMA is way rougher. I did that for many years before I ever set foot in a boxing gym. I actually prefer boxing because I don't get hurt As much.

I've never seen or heard of wearing a body/rib shield for sparring, only when someone is working the mitts and want to work some body shots in there too. Trying to spar with one of those big-ass things around your torso would just be goofy.
