I wish I had the time to lift weights, but I train 6 times out of the week and don't have the time since Sunday is my rest day.
You can have a conditioning routine with your boxing, just do it before hand or after.

I can send you my routine if you need it, It seems to work well. I've read a lot of books on conditioning to educate myself about the matter.

Lifting weights does absolutely nothing to your speed unless you build the wrong type of muscle. Lifting properly will benefit you more than lifting slowly or really fast. Lifting comfortable weight will benefit you more than lifting large or small amount of weight.

Personally, I quit lifting weights once I graduated high school(last year) and stopped playing football. I now do bodyweight exercises only. Dont really care for pumping iron.

Many coach do free body exercise with weight, like series of punches with weight....

But wouldn't it be better if done with elastic band?

I mean: the weight pull your hand down, so it's good for learning to keep the stance high... But an elastic band that pull backward wouldn't be better for speed and explosive strength?

Nay...i used to lift weights. But then again i was never really into heavy lifting. If i were to lift weights, they'd be hella light with more reps so i can have more definition in my arms. I'm not going for the bulky look, that went out in the early '00s.

Sure man. I'm always looking into trying new routines or even add some weight training excercises if I can fit the time.

            Thanks!

Its all good. Just dont train like a bodybuilder and you'll be alright. Do movements that simulate what you do when your boxing such as one arm bench presses (dumbell) and rows for example.

I wanna get big but i'm not trying to make it as a boxer. Instead of doing all this cardio stuff. I box and hit the gym. It's a great way to keep yourself in shape but if your not trying to make it as a boxer. Then weight lifting may not help you as much as you think that's why u gotta find out which exercises are the way to go don't just go to the gym and think muscle will help u

Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis didn't lift weights and they did alright.
