The Briggs that lost to McCline was total garbage and weighed about 260. Briggs has been getting into much better shape and taking his training seriously and is gonna enter the ring for his next fight at about 240.

Upsets don't just happen, they are created in the gym. Believe me on this, if Briggs goes in the ring at 240 and as motivated as he is now, Wladimir will leave on a stretcher.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming IBF Heavyweight title fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Shannon Briggs?

If Shannon Briggs can drop, lets say somewhere around 245, he needs speed. I still think Wladimir, as great as he is, he has that tremendous skill, he's still a little bit gun shy. When Corrie Sanders knocked him out, he really psychologically became afraid of big shots. What he does is when he gets in with a big puncher like Samuel Peter, he lands that great jab and then he ties you up. Alright, if you got a referee that will let you hold all night, he'll get away with that. But if he fights Shannon Briggs and Shannon's got a referee thats not gonna let Wladimir hold, cause we all know Shannon can crack, Shannon's got a real good chance at winning that fight. The thing is that Shannon's got to lose some weight, get in shape, and work harder than he's ever worked in his life. I think the fight's a done deal for November in Madison Square Garden. The ball is in Shannon Briggs' court. If Shannon throws punches cause Shannon can really crack, Shannon can win that fight. I think Wladimir proved that in the Davaryll Williamson and the Lamon Brewster fight that he's a guy that fears big punches.

OK, heres the deal. Nautilus, Boxing2005, do you guys think he should be in this thread? Is he, in your honest opinions, offering anythingg in the way of helping to clarify this subject, or is he just saying random flames with nothing to support his arguments?

i beleive briggs is more dangerous than SL, but SL is more desrving than briggs, so i dont have a problem with Wlad/SL and really neither should anyone else.... briggs has been fighting BUMS and doesnt deserve a shot at the title...

You see, no one told me that I was going to have to explain that one, but I guess I can entertain this one. That is an interview I did with Harold Lederman, a respected mind in the sport. He was helping to explain why Briggs is a legitimate threat to Wladimir Klitschko.

Rankings are mere statistics, they are judged off what the public at large can use to justify such rankings. I am telling you, having seen both men perform, that Shannon Briggs is a dangerous opponent for Wladimir, probably more so than Lyakhovich.

To put it bluntly, Lyakhovich can't beat Wladimir. Briggs can.
