As good as Lyakhovich is, he probably can't beat Wladimir. Briggs offers a much more competitive challenge, one that Lyakhovich doesn't bring. If I had my way, Lyakhovich wouldn't be considered a world champion because what the **** is a WBO title? Ten years ago, the WBO belt meant as much as the NABF and the NABA. Wladimir is fighting a contender in my book, no matter who gets the go.

umm, .... I thnink Liakovich is a far better boxer than Briggs, and the fight with Liakhovich will be far more entertaining...

Did you mean Liakhovich CAN'T in your first post?

BTW, I give Sergei a good shot at beating Wlad, but I don't think Briggs can...

What I mean of course is that I will write a harsh column criticising him for not fighting Briggs. Emmanuel Steward even said straight up that Briggs is the most dangerous fight out there for him because of Briggs skill and power.

I learned a lesson from last week when a boxer confronted me at a press con about something said here. If you're in the press and talk smack about a fighter, they will find you. Luckily for me, Wladimir has a suspect chin

I don't see how Lyakhovich is a better boxer than Briggs, but I guess its true if you say so. Briggs is a quicker handed guy and while his beard is suspect, he brings the big punch that Lyakhovich doesn't have. I really don't think Lyakhovich can jab with Wladimir, which is the only way Lyakhovich would be able to get inside the reach and get to work. Briggs is a much more cagey fighter than Lyakhovich IMO.

And by the way, Charlie is the guy who said no one here is on his level boxing knowledge wise, but is unable to tell us why.

I've seen Briggs in the gym, he is much more dedicated and focused than he has ever been. He was ready to face Wladimir Klitschko in November.

As the matter of fact, I think that the public is "clamouring" (should be clamoring) for Wlad-Liakhovich. It doesn't matter if it's Liakhovich or Valuev or Maskaev. But there is no true champion right now. You are answering your own question when you're saying that a WBO title holder is not a real champion. Only unified champ would be considered that and that's exactly what Liakhovich (by calling Wlad out) and Wlad (by calling Maskaev out) are trying to become.

Lol, I don't know if you would have enough time to find that out. He does have a pretty good and quick offense.

The reality is that Wladimir can fight whoever he wants, makes little to no difference in the long run. He will probably annhilate Lyakhovich in 6 rounds or less, and then go to Briggs anyways. But bottom line is, anyone who believed that the vacant belt that Brewster won by knocking out Wladimir Klitschko means diddly **** about champions. Why, because the WBO said so? Apparently it means nothing that Wladimir was already being discredited by then, but **** it, beat Samuel Peter and a guy whose number you BEEN had and I guess you're the man again.
