Floyd earnt the criticism he gets for the catchweight. It could’ve been a clean win, but the catchweight diminishes the victory. I feel the fight would’ve been the same 2 lbs or not, but tough luck. You ask for the catchweight, you lose the full praise

Yup. James Toney had only 20 amateur fights. That's why he was having a fight a month up until his first title fight with Nunn and I've never heard anyone say he was green when he drew against McCallum (Was the same age as Canelo (23) when he lost to Floyd)

I wish Canelo fans kept that same energy when it comes to every one of his title fights...

He was prime. He's been a pro since he was like 9 years old.

floyd was beating that version of canelo no matter the weight, canelo was well experienced and was the best jr middle in the world besides mayweather.

people complain about mayweather fighting the best jr middle in the world, they will complain about anything.

canelo liked to counter on the outside, he was never going to outbox mayweather from the outside, that is why he got shutout on the rounds. He would need to use his come forward pressure fighting style he really didnt start using until late at middleweight to atleast win some rounds with mayweather, yes he gained more experience and skill after that fight, he is a future ATG, they gain skill with age. it is what it is, now he is at 168-175 and people think mayweather who weighs 150 on fight night should fight him there. they will try to diminish mayweather no matter what.

Canelo deserves the same criticism. Name any situation you feel was unreasonable and I’m sure I’d agree. I’m pretty sure canelo/gbp tried to implement (or successfully did) implement a second day weigh in cap of 10lbs (which wasnt even asked of by the sanctioning body) against Jacobs or kovalev ? Or both ?

              I’m sure there’s other examples.
Boxing is not a legitimate sport, they bend the rules whenever the want.
It’s entertainment, and when you’re the popular fighter, they bend their “rules” or create new ones whenever they want.

The science of boxing is still beautiful, just hate the way they run and mock the “sport”

All this nonsense about how Canelo was “green” gotta stop lol. He had beaten Mosley and Trout before that and was already a champion when he faced Floyd.

Canelo started his boxing career real early like Pacman so he had plenty of experience by early 20s.

Canelo started boxing at 13 years old he basically had 10 years of boxing most fighters in the United States have over 10 years of boxing before their 1st pro fight

The experience wasn’t the biggest factor the weight drain was
