I could see where the problem lies . Dubois was never taught adversity growing up and dominated. He could have actually won this fight if he applied more pressure early but let .Joyce get that jab off .

DDD is a tough big kid ,we’ll see him again, even relatives were here saying Joyce was done after being stunned a few times but they never seen these guys .

Well Dubois has broken his orbital bone.

I've never had that injury but I'd imagine the moment is happens you probably feel a literal sense of impending doom.

It is a very serious injury. He may be permanently injured.

Some people sort of dont really know what they are watching.

He was on the verge of ending up like Margarito at the age of 23.

He made the smart move, and he'll be back to fight another day.

          Of course

But I still think most fighters would make a choice not to quit. They’re fighters at the end of the day.

Dubois made the choice to get out of that fight and you have to wonder if he will always do it when things get tough.

Even with that kind of injury, can you imagine a Chisora or Fury get down on their knee and get counted out? I can’t see it.

Even Kell Brook never quit in the GGG fight with that injury, his corner threw in the towel. I think he only quit in the Spence fight once he knew how dangerous the injury is from previous experience.

I dunno, easy for us to sit here and say it, but in the context of boxing and know how brave fighters can be, I think he accepted defeat and quit too easily.

I can accept that he quit but also that he's incurred some serious damage. So I'm not going to belittle him.

I understand he knows the game and he has soul searching ahead but if his eye actually has gone then there is a scenario that that' might be that. Then he will torture himself for not just gutting the last few rounds out or just getting ironed out.

But I dunno, it is hard, hard sport. I love it but I just can't run these guys down like some do.

              Yeah I agree

And anyway, even if he doesn’t quite have the minerals that some fighters do and he ends up quitting more, he still gets in the ring for a living, which 99.9% of people wouldn’t have the balls to do..

              So that’s always worth remembering

But I think if we just talk within the context of strictly boxing, it’s fair to say his heart looks very questionable right now. So it’ll be interesting to see what happens.

What I saw was clearly world class, both guys showing strengths. DDD is quite tough....fighting a ton of rounds with a closed eye. I give both guys credit for giving it their all and providing a solid heavyweight fight with two aspiring contenders. Joyce is more fluid than people give him credit for. An iron chin and an educated jab as well. And for them to fight that hard during Covid times and with the postponements and everything else going on is even more impressive.

His inexperience showed in the fight. He was unable to adjust and fought cautiously early on when his best advantage was to win early. Everyone predicted a Joyce win in later rounds and that's what happened. He is young and will build on this experience. He needs to train with more skillful guys even if they are not powerful punchers.

He did the right thing in stopping the fight. A damage to the eye can finish your career so no point in that ******ity.

Reminds me of a man I used to work at some dull as s.hit admin job he was a dude who just could not add any value to any conversation.

Another work mate had massive feet. So I asked him: you've got big feet what are they size 14?

Just small talk, that could hopefully lead to me giving him an offensive nickname
                      .

But then the boring c.unt chipped in: 'My feet are size 9.'

                      1. Nobody asked you
                      2. Size 9 is literally the average size for uk male.

But there were thousands of instances like this. I sat next to him. Every day I had visions of just launching my computer monitor at him just to see how he'd react.

It is only now that I am in my 30's that I f.uckin love him. I wish he was my actual mate now.
