  • A lot depends on Aug 16 and two things - IF and HOW Moses wins that fight. I can see Moses fight Parker for the vacant WBO (assuming Moses wins and Usyk vacates) and the winner fighting Usyk next year.

  • One of the most ****** threads out there!

Usyk got a MD against Joshua and Fury. His score against Chisora was 115-113 by two of the judges, with the third scoring it 117-112. So, these guys must be way, way better than Frazier, Shavers, Liston, Foreman, Lyle, Williams, Cooper, Patterson,...

  • The mill will keep churning out more...we already have Moses Itauma. He might be a good boxer but has been hyped up far more than he has achieved or the level of opposition he fought....

  • Those fights took place when Usyk did not hold the WBC title (Fury did, for Wilder, Whyte, and Chisora) or Dubois briefly held the IBF belt (Hrgovic fight). And yes, it was fun and exciting watching those fights, except perhaps the Chisora one. Usyk's fought the same guys twice for the last 4 years....

  • Should Usyk keep one belt and vacate the others?

I like Usyk, and I like the idea that we have only one champion, but it's a reality that there are multiple sanctioning bodies, and other boxers are waiting for their chances to get a crack at the HW belt (of some sanctioning body). Let's look at the scenario.

  • You never know...they might skip Parker and have Moses vs Usyk if Moses wins in style (though I have my doubts, and there is a chance Whyte is too much for Moses if he's got anything left in his tank). Turki loves British fighters because the UK has a big fanbase where the fans actually spend the money,...

  • Usyk is a latecomer to the party and only has 1-2 fights left in him. He has done enough to prove himself in the boxing world and would be looking at the most lucrative fight(s). That fight may not be Parker if Turki does not put up the money. I won't be surprised if Parker fights Itauma (provided he...

replied to I wonder how good Itauma really is
Frank Warren is good at hyping his fighters, and Turki is also fond of Itauma as a future star for the Riyadh Season. Beyond that, I agree that Moses is totally untested against any live opponent. I also do not consider him beating Whyte a done deal, irrespective of how rusty or old Whyte may be. It...

  • They aren't the quality we had in the 90s. None of these guys would make it to the top 5 in the 90s, and some not even in the top 8. Usyk ain't fought a fighter at the level of Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, David Tua, Rid**** Bowe, etc. in HW....

  • Father Time is the most likely contender to beat Usyk. Itauma is a good prospect and may develop into an all-around fighter in 5-6 years' time, but right now, he is nowhere near a threat to beat Usyk. I am not sure he even beats Whyte unless Whyte is totally gone by now, given his age and inactivit...
