Though erick is younger JMM appears to be fresher basing on their last few fights, but Morales is the more complete fighter. he can seek and box as well while JMM is a PURE counterpucher, he'll have his moments but morales takes this one.

    Morales UD

If this fight ever took place, I'd say JMM wins it. JMM obviously for the most part sits back and waits, and Erik obviously loves to engage. This would play right into JMM's favor, although...How do you beat a counter puncher? Well, throw so many damn shots, he can't counter everything or focus on everything. This wouldn't be done by an aging Morales. I'd say JMM would pick him apart badly because Morales at this late stage of his career, can't brawl like he used to and has slowed down considerably at 130lbs and that would benefit Marquez if he goes up. Erik's only chance would be to go all out and even as he slowed down, just keep ****ing at Marquez until he gets through. That or it plays out like Zahir - Morales.

i think JMM's resilience can overcome erik's agrssveness.

Oh yeah that reminded me, one more thing. JMM hasn't been nearly in the wars Morales has. His body hasn't taken nearly the beating Morales has. Saying JMM's first true war was against Manny can be saying just how green Marquez is with going into all out wars. He did great on his first one though.

            umm...
Barerra's counterpunching ability is comparable to JMM's. Maybe not this version of Barerra but the Barerra of a few years back. The Barerra that beat Hamed was Barerra strictly counterpunching.
Barerras resume far exceeds JMM's. MAB was vicious back then.

JMM is not only a counterpuncher. How many of his fights have you seen ? He can be aggressive and go on the attack. He does not only rely on counterpunching.

excatly. In the Pacquaoi fight JMM got a taste of war and decided enough is enough. I aint doing this again.

Almost every Morales fight has been a war. Erik's been in the trenches many times. JMM hasnt. Eric by UD. Theres plenty of gas in his tank to beat JMM.

I've seen at least 5 of his fights coming into the Pacman fight and up to the present. Starting from Robie Penden, Hector Marquez, Manuel Medina, Marcos Lincona, Derick Gainer, Orlando Salido, Victor Polo, Cris Jonh and the latest with Terdsak.

Nopes he can't be aggresive, with all these fights that I have seen what comes back into my head is the sound of boooing from the crowd because JMM is so passive. He only burst into aggresiveness when he knows the opponent is about to go down.

Look at his fight with Terdsak, you know why he got hit repeatedly? Because JMM is out of his game, he tried to be aggresive and get out of his counter punching.

I would shudder to think what PAC will do to JMM now. Probably chop off his head. JMM's face got rearranged here for sure. And guys like xcaret and ferocity say JMM schooled PAC. lols! Take a good look at JMM's face.

Morales via UD in this one. If MOrales opts to pressure, JMM is dead, MOrales will simply walk through JMM's punches.

Think about how Marquez pusssied out when 1.5 mil was offered and
he wants 3.5 mil. I believed Marquez just don't want to fight Morales. Why would he asked something that he knows he cannot get? Either that or he's an idiot.

a few years ago i'd pick Erik Morales without much doubt.

Today i can not. Marquez is not as battle worn as Erik Morales is. Erik is a guy that basically captured his first title at 21 and for most of the decade went one after another after another of fighting the best fighters he could. War after war against great fighters. Taking and receiving with everyone and fights of the year candidate after candiate.

Marquez has been more dormant and has less wear than Morales.

Marquez might be the older man in age, but in the world of Boxing Erik Morales is the grandpa, and Marquez the young hungry fighter.
